This place was about an hour drive from me but well worth it! I bought about one and a half pounds of baklava for an upcoming birthday party. It turned out to be about 60 pieces, which was great for the 30 guests we were expecting. The total cost was about $45. Everyone loved it! I used to work on the street the bakery is on, but the lady told me they've only been there for 4 years. I had never heard of it so I knew it was relatively new. While I was there a few customers showed up. We had a few samples of chocolate cookies, but the baklava was far superior. The baklava was uniform in its shapes and consistent in flavor. This is the best I've had and will definitely come back for more! The bakery is in a little shopping center that if you don't know you may pass it up, like I did, and it took me a bit to make a legal u-turn to get back. This is a favorite when I have a Mediterranean sweet tooth. All goodies made in house from scratch with the exception of the Turkish delights imported from Turkey. An unexpected delicious surprise was the sweet cheese treat. Wow-- heavenly-- fresh made, not too sweet, the sweet syrup and pistachio dust on top a winner. Will certainly have that one again. Racist. Judged me based of my appearance and refused me service. Used intimidation to try to make me leave. So I walk into the store, smile on my face like usual when I find a potentially new healthy place to eat. I ask the woman behind the counter a few questions about flour, and the store fan was really loud. I found boxes in a refrigerator with all the ingredients listed and proceeded to read the 15 or so boxes of ingredients. Well a part owner, as they claim, came from next door and while I doing so and began to suggest I leave to store. Confused, I was telling him I was learning the ingredients to the food. I left to get my phone to see the ingredients better, and they both stared me down, the gentleman there began to interrupt me from reading and suggested I leave. I ask why and they did not respond as to why, saying I was taking to long to read the ingredients, although he was trying to make me leave the whole time. I just found out today I am banned from the store and not allowed to purchase anything and the woman from store asked the man for help removing me as I must have been an eyesore to her. Since I was not rude at all I'm going to chop this up to racism, as they stumbled tryin to explain any other reason they would be turning me away as a customer. I was in the store for less then 4 minutes and this is my first experience in a Greek Mediterranean bakery, boycott this business for unethical practices in the neighborhood. They also have 5 types of savory baked items-- spinach/cheese, red pepper/olive... have to order ahead though. A dozen for $15, I believe. Looked delicious. Tried this place for the first time today and was very impressed. I've always seen it on my way home from work and was always curious. I tried pistachio baklava, rose Turkish delight, a nougat hazelnut chocolate roll, and knafeh. Everything tasted wonderful and was well priced. The knafeh was its own set price and the rest was priced by weight. I spent about $10 for a big piece of knafeh and 6 decent sized pieces of sweets. I do look forward to going back soon! read more

It's located in a nondescript plaza and it doesn't look like much from the outside... but once you go in... a whole lotta yumminess is on display. Be forewarned: you'll be overwhelmed. In a very good way! Everything (and I mean *everything* ) is beautifully and freshly baked. You'll find all sorts of middle eastern sweets with nuts, phyllo, cheese (hello kunafeh, my love!), butter, dates, honey... baklava (with pistachios OR nuts), zainab, kunafeh, katayef, halawat, maamool, fingers, bird nests, shortbread cookies with sesame seeds... holly smokes, cannot wait to finish my tray and go back. Customer service? Awesome! The older gentleman that helped me is so kind, sweet, and so patient. I Really Wanted to Give this place 5 stars. The good side, the girl behind the counter was very friendly, and courteous. They are the real deal with one exception. Which brings me to tje bad news. They make only one kind of baklava that is made with honey (that was the sample I reveived, and of course it was filling, and delicious). All the others use sugar. Before I got there, I tried to call them. It was between 9am, amd 9:30am. After walking what would be close to the 2 mile mark (part of my exercise routine), I am told that they don't have enough baklava made, and would have to wait around for an hour. Don't be fooled by the time that they open. The girl behind the counter said that the BEST time to get a pound of assorted baklava is after Noon. I hoped to find some honey green tea, but none was there. I had to go next door to the liquor store for it. And 1 pound of baklava is now $14.00 (not $12.00). I'm sorry, but there is just nothing really great, convenient, or outstanding about this place. For the same 3 mile round trip that I made going to here, I could go to Phoenicia if I don't mind paying retail. And they always have a great honey lemon green tea. Like I said. Everything we got was so yummy! The sweet cheese was The man working was so sweet! when we walked in, one of the refrigerators wasn't functioning so it was super hot in the shop. the man wasn't wearing a mask, but after just a couple minutes in the bakery I was sweating so it's understandable that he was unmasked, though concerning nonetheless. We were allowed to sample several items. We weren't sure what most of the treats were so we asked the man working to help us out. He filled a large to go container for us of all sorts of random goodies and charged us $12. I'm pretty sure he undercharged us since the fridges werent working and the goodies would spoil quickly. everything was DELICIOUS and i'll definitely be back again. the sweet cheese was mild and sooo yummy. the turkish delight was spectacular and comparable to what i've had in turkey. will definitely come again read more

Just discovered this place yesterday. Set back in a little strip mall at Tennessee and Colton. Delicious food - try the chocolate with pistachios in a fudge like delight. Priced well, and everything was tasty. We tried a just-from-the-oven football shaped snack, with bulgar wheat around a beef mixture, deep fried I'd guess? It was delicious. Three would be a meal. So yummy! There were a lot of choices in sweets, so I picked out a sampling of each to try at home. They have savory items too. I love their manakeesh with everything on it - meat, cheese, bell pepper and zaatar. Delicious. They also have fatayer sabenekh and ones with meat. The savory stuff are freshly made to order, about 20 mins for a dozen. I would recommend calling in for pickup for convenience. It's family owned, and the goods are baked fresh daily.
