Most places serve them dry, but these were incredibly saucy and had a deep, savory char from the grill. It was clear they had been marinating for at least 24 hours because the honey-sweet flavor went all the way through the meat, not just on the surface. Unfortunately the portions were lacking , unbalanced , execution lacking and the Turkey tips were morsel in size the house cut fries was the main dish which should have been a balance dish for $34 and serving size best a small ( I ordered a large Turkey tip). The house cut fries and Turkey tip were cooked well but not enough in portions for the price. I also found several pieces with a heavy amount of sauce that made them difficult to identify as Turkey tips. I have been wanting to try here for awhile, and I finally took the leap. I wasn't disappointed. The service was fine. It's a small takeout space. There is no room to eat inside. Do not go here looking for pork bbq; they do not sell it. The food was goooood! That brisket is something to write home about frfr. It was smoky, tender, and outright delicious. Visited location yesterday. Everyone is so professional and nice. I ordered my food. Got to the car and my whole car smelled so good. I open the container and the presentation was BEAUTIFUL (slab Beef ribs, fries, greens, heavy mixed sauce on). I went to taste the rib and the meat melted away from the bone. The best beef ribs on the city. They give you a whole plate full. The meat was perfectly cooked. The ribs are so meaty and tender and full of flavor. I think everybody saw the same tictok yesterday because it was packed! The guy at the register told me it's never usually like that. Needless to say service was slow yesterday. I placed an online order that was supposed to be ready in 25 minutes, when I arrived 25 minutes later I was told it be ready in 30 minutes, it was actually ready 15 minutes that. Saw this place advertised on instagram and was excited to try the beef and turkey bbq options instead of pork. It was a Sunday afternoon and I didn't feel like cooking so we decided to drive from Hyde Park and placed an online order. We wanted to sample a little of everything we like to eat so we ordered the half slab, chicken wings, links, turkey tips and dirty rice. At pick up when the person handling the orders asked the cook which order belonged to us, my husband immediately thought well why is it not marked. In his mind that was not a good first impression. The orders came LOADED with skin on fries which I typically love! But they tasted a bit old. I have learned the trick to making sure beef is falling off the bone tender is to cook it nice and slow. These ribs were so tough that we were peeling the meat off the bones! The links were unappetizing and so hard that I couldn't even eat them! The wings (not a full chicken wing mind you) and turkey tips were decent but had more of a gas grill taste than smoked. The rice had hard little chunks of beef and was way too dry. We asked for spicy sauce but the food was smeared with some kind of a sweet sauce. I really wanted to like this place and thought it could be a good dinner option. I did ubereats. I ordered 6 beef ribs, they only gave me 4 ribs and my cornbread was missing. Ubereats only gave me a $4 refund on a $110+ order. Called restaurant and initially blamed uber driver which was wrong of them. Package was secured and not tampered with. Restaurant told me to pick up the 2 ribs lol. I didn't overpay on ubereats just to pick up the missing order items at the end. Driving there and back would've taken me an hour. The 4 beef ribs were dry, tasted like beef jerky and barely had meat on them. Ribs also arrived COLD. My friend ate with me and said it tasted like they didn't wash the meat and she felt disgusted eating it. My other friend had the brisket and didn't have any complaints. Smoked meat has a distinctive smokey flavor. The meat wasn't smoked. I requested FRIED chicken but got BAKED. HEAVY mixed sauce should have been ON the chicken: there was none. The sauce wasn't spicy at all. Many of the fries had dark spots on them, you're supposed to cut out the dark spots on potatoes! That ruined the whole vibe and they didn't seem fresh cut either. Plus, I asked for spicy sauce on the side but they put it ON the fries and again, not spicy. I see all these good reviews so hopefully, the chef just had a bad day but I'll never order again. 1/13/2023 Where do I start? There is an old saying, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression!" I arrived from driving 1.5 hours from work. Got there to chaos, no this or that on the menu because they ran out (lack of preparation is my opinion). Staff of 4 including the owner. I arrived at about 615p. No one took my order until 631p. I noticed the owner preparing 5 brisket with seasoning When I arrived. Workers with no hair nets. Food sanitary handling was questionable. Remember when I came in the brisket was being prepared. Well one hour & 15 minutes those brisket were still sitting out, not being covered or cooked. The owner left and his staff became extra slow. No one knows how to work the register to issue refunds for orders they took or didn't fill because they ran out of meat for those orders. I say don't take online orders for things you ultimately end up not having. The place is a mass of chaos. I waited over an hour for severe disappointment. I truly try to support Black businesses but waiting over an hour for food that wasn't what was expected is not a reason to return my business. I ordered the burger & fries, 1/2 slab (I guess doesn't come with fries because I didn't get any), turkey tips with fries, 2 links with fries. The Brisket Burger is just a cheeseburger. I suppose it's made with meat from a Brisket but it is precooked meat. There is ZERO SMOKINESS from a Brisket. Just a plain burger. If you like burgers great. If you are expecting a burger from actual smoked brisket be prepared to be disappointed. The Beef Ribs are a shadow of what you would expect of a meat beef rib. I ordered a half slab which is 3 bones attached. My half was 3 cut up bones with less than a third of the meatiness shown in the video loop shown in the lobby area. The meat was also overcooked and dry. And Why was my so called slab not one piece with 3 bones like it should have been? I call this a bait and switch (see picture). Wasn't meaty, Wasn't smoky, barely any sauce. Just a deep Disappointment for my money and time. The beef links was just A LINK (SINGULAR) cut in half (see picture) sold as 2. FOH!!! i ate one before taking the picture. A TOTAL rip off. Wasn't tasty, not flavorful, no sauce even though I ordered everything to be sauced. The Turkey tips barely sauced but tender. Definitely not worth my time, money or the trip. I can say you got me. I spent plenty of money this first and ONLY TRIP but I am not returning. I paid for things i didn't get. I came here because I saw a Black Foodie reported on this place. They must have gotten choice food for their video. The rest of us get jacked. IT IS A NO for me. What is really sad is this has to have been the worst dining experience I have had in quite a while. The wait was to long and the food was disappointment. I would have done better get pork ribs from any of the more well known rib joints. The staff has a lot to learn about food service, quality, filling orders correctly.
