I remember when the turn up was real at Medrano's back in the day. Karaoke, good drinks, and women looking for a man with more than $20 in his pockets. Well this review is about the flavorless albondigas. I don't know what the problem was but it taste and looked like they used ground turkey for the meatballs rather than ground beef. Surprisingly the vegetables were still firm and the broth wasn't bad after adding salt. I don't drink anymore so I guess Medrano's will NEVER see me again. read more

I was visiting from Kentucky , my mother-in-law and brother-in-law took me to Medrano's. I had an awesome experience! The drink were nice and STRONG and the appetizer were tasty. The waiter was great and made sure we had what we needed, she continued to check on us but not to the point were it was annoying. Thank you Gabrie!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, everyone was friendly and enjoying themself. So over priced ! When can put enchilada inside your taco , when your tamale bigger than your enchilada or your burrito smaller than your enchilada and still fill your plate with rice and beans 3 small items $16.95 way to much !! HORRIBLE 1. When you raise the price of your buffet you should really update your website 2. You have security guards running all around enforcing 'masks' to everyone coming in-but DON'T enforce it in the buffet line-AND I even saw 2 security guards walking through the restaurants without masks on. 3. It was a nightmare sitting in the bar area. You added more booths but was so packed in there you couldn't walk through and it became claustrophobic. Even close to being a hazard at some points 4. When you are automatically adding a tip--INFORM customers before the fact. I got the bill with a line for a tip-not realizing it was already added. VERY deceitful. Tips shouldn't be added at that high a rate-especially when the service and food was horrible! You have NO disclosures saying gratuity will be automatically added to the bill. I'll actually look and see if this is legal. 5. When you have a brunch buffet-have eggs. Please. Chorizo is disgusting for a lot of people and there were no other options 6. Your food is substandard Mexican with an LA price. I felt completely ripped off in more ways than one on this visit. My bill ended up over 60.00 with buffet and tip for 2 people. Ridiculous. I don't even pay that much for high end buffets (when they had them) in Las Vegas I've given this restaurant numerous chances and it always seems to disappoint. First time was really excited here hella reviews and knew I was gonna have a good time....so me and a few friends go to happy hour order two drinks and watch the football game. Everything going well till I get my bill, the bat tender charge me happy hour for one drink and full price for the other...I was confused being my first time why would that be....bar tender stated happy hour ends at 7:45pm. But never once while I was ordering informed me of the change. I was mad asked to speak to manager because that isn't fair I calculated my funds and tip based on the happy hour menu...the manager/owner was unwilling to assist or accommodate the situation being I am new to her establishment and learning the rules.....I paid but didn't want to just know that I will never eat here or refer any of my friends. I had booked the venue for a birthday party. Unfortunately someone in the family was exposed to covid and was asked to quarantine. I spoke to Crystal and she said it was ok to go on with the party but she would not give deposit back. I even offered to show her the letter I received about covid exposure and quarantine . She was not interested at all. I know she has a business to run but seriously she would rather expose everyone to covid rather then give me my deposit back or offering other options. This is the best one! I think the quality you get here is the best, the cooks are doing everything right. I've been eating here for 15 years, and it's just as good as ever. The interior is really cool too, gives you something to look at while you eat besides tv or my annoying family. Not sure if it's accurate to say but I feel like you get more food on a plate here versus the Palmdale location. Will continue to come here! read more

There are two types of Mexican restaurants. Type one is the type of Mexican restaurant, where your grandparents, parents and now, your generation have been visiting for years upon years because their food makes you have an orgasm every time you eat it. Type two is a Mexican restaurant that you go there solely to drink. They have tequila and cheep cerveza. The bartender is used to the local borrachos. The only thing that is even remotely edible is chips and salsa to prep your stomach for the insane binge drinking you are accustomed to doing. Medrano's is definitely the second type. Drunken Lancaster bar whores lined the exterior of the building on a Saturday night. The cloud of cigarette smoke we walked through to get to the door was enough to choke a horse. The place was pretty packed, but I don't think it was for the food. They had a poster on the wall with an enforced dress code stating: no wife-beaters, tennis shoes, baggy pants, etc. There was no wait to be seated and as we sat down at our half-moon shaped booth, I suddenly heard "The hills are alive with the sound of music" playing on repeat in my head. The place looked like a bag of Riccola cough drops and I was on guard through the entire meal waiting for the Swiss Miss maid to pop out from around the corner and start yodeling. Awkward. Have you ever had a plate of carnitas with rice and beans and fresh corn tortillas? Have you had carnitas so tender and juicy, it practically melts in your mouth? Has it been so flavorful that its like a little Mexican family is having a fiesta inside your mouth? Well, I have, and it was definitely NOT at Medrano's. I ordered the Albondigas soup and the Carnitas plate. The soup was not exciting at all. Two meatballs and some veggies with not much seasoning. The plate was greasy, dry, flavorless pieces of meat that they called carnitas. It was pork and onions. Not even the onions had flavor. How does that happen? It tasted like it had been sitting and then had been reheated from a week ago's leftovers. The rice and beans were terrible also. The only thing worth while was the tortillas. They tasted homemade. Miguel had the Enchiladas Suizas with rice and beans. I was so nauseaus from my meal that I couldn't even taste Miguel's, but he said that it sucked also. I barely ate anything and practically left an entire plate of food. We paid for our meals and left. Thanks, but no thanks. We'll stick to the Rusten House or Taco Bell. read more

This is one of my favorite spots in Lancaster (which is saying a lot, trust me. ;) I used to come pretty often too when I was living in the AV; I especially made sure to come for Sunday brunch. I actually really like it and its super good priced! They also have a pretty raging bar right next door, Friday nights here they're packed! They also do karaoke which is fun in big groups =] The food here is super yummy and the portion to price is very good! The staff are ALWAYS friendly and very attentive at that. I eat salsa like crazy when I come here and not once do I ever have to ask for a refill because they're quick to refill it due to their attentiveness. *don't let the couple bad reviews throw you off, try this place out for yourself. read more

So, I was visiting girlfriends and this was the hot spot for grub. I ordered a tequila bowl and when the girl came back I was shocked. The drink actually came in a damn bowl. Child when I say I slurped that drink down to the ice, you couldn't tell me that that drink was everything. I definitely will be ordering that when I return. GROSS. I had been dragged to both this and their Palmdale location by my parents for years. I tolerated their "out of the can" tasting Mexican food until yesterday. I ordered the shrimp Enchiladas and 3/4 into finishing my food I noticed two PUBIC hairs in the refried beans. I had my doubts of it being pubic but theres just something about pubic hairs that really makes em stick out when compared to the hair on the rest of your body. Pubic or not it's still disgusting. Under no circumstances should PUBIC hair ever be in your food. EVER. I can understand if a hair off someones head carelessly wound up in my food. But this hair was definitely pubic. Some miserable, malicious scumbag obviously sabotaged the refried beans to put amusement to their boring day. I did not mention this to the staff because I tried to be calm and collective since i didn't want to ruin our dinner with family. My husband and I came for a late dinner tonight. He got the plate with 3 types of shrimp: the garlic shrimp was in some mush of garlic and corn or something, didn't taste much like garlic, and the breaded shrimp was just hard and tasteless, the bacon shrimp could have done with less bacon. I got the enchilada combo, Mi Ranchitos enchiladas have WAY more flavor...well now we know what this place is like, needless to say we won't be returning. read more

Just came back from a wedding reception and it was at the Medranos. Here's my review: The staff did a very good job setting up the reception. They provided extra seats when we ran out of seats. They always check if we needed refills on our drinks and always provided us with chips and salsa when were running low. Very attentive staff and they even provided boxes for our cakes to go without even asking. Food: The buffet was very delicious. They provided the typical rice and beans (which were awesome. There red and green enchiladas were not to bad. There chicken and beef mixed with bell peppers tasted excellent. if your in the Lancaster/Palmdale area and looking for a place to have a reception/big party I highly recommend Medrano's read more

Your AA sponsor can be your designated driver. Karaoke on Fri & Sat nights is always lively and packed. The usual mix of regulars, American Idol wannabes and drunkies. I prefer the latter. Always good for a laugh and sometimes you find a diamond in the rough. The food is pretty tasty, the service is prompt and the bartenders are friendly. I've never come in for the restaurant side, so this review has no food in it I do come out to medranos sometimes to the bar side at night for karaoke. It gets jam packed at the very beginning of the night (9-10pm) and it's very lively and energetic. Lots of fun if you sign up to sing haha. The drinks are whatever. I had a long island ice tea and it wasn't even that strong -__- And like i said, i've been there a couple of times and the guy bartender doesn't have the friendliest attitude, i think he should work on that. But maybe it's cause i'm a guy haha. STILL! The KJ's are awesome, the people are fun, and i've had mostly a good time while i've been there.
