HI, Tried your new restaurant in the old sizzler today (7/21/23). Ordered the filet mingon med well. service was great and meal came in a timely fashion. Steak was raw and tough, felt like I was SERVED A CHEAP SIRLOIN. Waitress said no refund but would replace it. To late now to wait again. Asked for manager to handle my situation and he gave me a 25% discount. Your restaurant came highly recommended, and you advertise as a steak house but your steak is no better than what Sizzler was. We came to this restaurant after my cousins baptism. We had a party of 20 and they accommodated us easily. Waitresses were very nice. Food came out timely. Drinks were good and actually had alcohol. This is your average Mexican restaurant. That's not a criticism, that simply a statement of fact. What you get here you can pretty much get at any Mexican restaurant throughout the Southern California region. On the high side, this restaurant has a very well designed interior. They have mural art all over their walls. The artist who did this is very good and it is very appealing to the eyes. The staff all seems very nice. Though the service can be a little bit spotty. Again, not a criticism, just A statement of fact. This restaurant also has a large banquet room. If you are planning to have a party or a family get together, this room is available. The thing I find kind of interesting about this banquet room is that it is very sterile. Meaning, it is just your basic white paint on the walls and very basic tabling. It does not have all of the allure of their main dining area. Personally, I think this is a mistake. The food was okay could of been better if it was still when we got the food. We got it as take out we live 30 minutes away and other restaurants that have take out food is still hot or warm when we get home . We had to put it in the air fryer and the rice was good but everything else could of been better. The chips some were wet it just wasn't satisfying. I was at Medrano's today with my family. I've ordered Fajitas, spinach dip. The spinach dip we ordered was too watery and had bad taste. We reordered it and it was horrible. The Fajita they served was burned and underneath was fried burned potatoes. I have never had such a horrible experience with any of Medrano's. My son ordered tacos and burritos. Was horrible taste. The only food was good is ribs. I came home and got stomach sick. No service at all. Waitresses were talking to each other and forgetting my ordered drink. Have to ask for the napkins, Tapatio sauce. Ordered shrimp fajitas.. they brought me 6 f*****g shrimp and 2lbs of onion. Sad day for me. Couldn't even rate the foood because there was so little of it. Should have asked for chicken, shrimp, and steak this way even if they only put 3 shrimp, it would still be worth the $25 dollars spent on this one plate. We were turned away from a chain restaurant up the street. Medrano's was my first phone call to try and save my celebration. The lady answered the phone and said they could help us out. When we arrived we were seated right away. Everyone was absolutely amazing. We were consistently attended to and the food was really good. The fajitas were sizzling when they arrived and we didn't have to wait for the tortillas. The Albondigas were good. We didn't have to wait very long for our food. When we arrived we could hear the music from the bar. But the music was kept to the bar. I've had the Micheladas from the bar and pi would recommend them. The place is well kept and always clean. They have a good sized banquet room but our party didn't need that for it last night. Truly a pleasant experience all the way around. My wife and I will be trying their steak house for our next date night. read more

My husband decided to take the kids and I here after his long day at work and honestly I've never experienced such terrible service. I went to Medranos and ordered 1942. I've never had a problem there. Tonight they brought us shots of silver tequila and said they were from a new bottle. My table and I saw the bottle of "1942" they poured from. After visually inspecting and tasting the the shots, it was clear that this was not the $25/ shot 1942. The shot we were poured was a silver clear water like tequila. Don Julio 1942 has a caramel color and distinct taste that sets it apart from silver tequilas. One of the managers said that I could bring a bottle, but would be charged a corking fee because I didn't approve of their bottle. I went home and brought an unopened bottle of Don Julio 1942. The owner said that we could not have the bottle there, and then stated we had to leave. I stated that I am a regular and spend about $400 per week at this location, and would like a proper pour from the actual unopened bottle. They refused. My party and I then said that we would like to be poured our own bottle, or a new bottle from their bar. They once again refused to pour a new bottle and told us we had to leave. We paid for our unfinished drinks, as well as the shots they previously poured for us (at a discounted rate) and left the establishment. read more

There are hardly words to describe how bad the food was. The lunch buffet between 11:00 a.m. -- 2:00 p.m. on a Saturday seemed like a good stop for hanging out with friends and visiting. Wrong. The price is low, but then again, I've heard it said you get what you pay for. You couldn't pay me to go back for the buffet again. Looking at the selection, it wasn't terribly exciting, but I asked myself, "How can you go wrong with cheese enchiladas?" Well, I discovered you can. The pan was filled with cut up cheese enchilada pieces, so I took four of these small things. My first bite was a revelation. My second bite was a revelation. At this point, I took all the enchilada pieces and unfolded them. What I saw wrapped inside the tortilla was ... nothing!!! Seriously, there were about two molecules of cheese in the tortilla, so they were basically serving a wrapped up tortilla with some sauce and shreds of cheese melted over the top. Generally-speaking, the food on the buffet was barely warm. What an embarassment. The exception was the Albondigas soup which was at least hot and the best thing available. We are not going back. I can't believe I haven't done a review for Medrano's yet. Having a hard time deciding between good and great. Visited a lot during Covid restrictions probably now come 1-2 times a month. I have also done catering. I like to sit in the bar, service is fast and attentive. Sometimes even at lunch a little loud. When we need something they are quick to respond but also let us sit and chat in the afternoon for as long as we want. Chips and salsa stay full. Salsa has a nice blend of garlic, onions and tomatoes; sometimes it's spicier than others. I have had the Bonita platter, which even for one is a lot of food. The Shredded Beef Taco's come out crispy, Taco salad large, Carnitas cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The Carne Asada tacos have good mix of meat, onions, and guaq. I will say for me I do not care for the Tamale or Burrito. My friend likes the Burrito and they always let her get a side of Sour Cream for no charge. Catering is a lot of food. When I order for the correct amount of people I still have food left over. They do different trays; Flautas, Taquitos, Potato skins are just ok, everything else good. To go orders during Covid were great and 2 for $25 was a ton of food. My to go order today was wrong; Chili Relleno instead of Enchilada, but that is not the norm, usually my to go is great. I have never had a bad time at this place- even on a slow night. You can always meet a new friend everyone is so friendly. I usually come to the bar for HH. I honestly can't stand their margaritas so I order a beer or the "BOWL". One of the BOWL drinks will have you feeling quite nice. The most I've drank in one night are two BOWLS and I had to call it quits or i may not have made it home. Lol! Mia (the waitress) is awesome she has a feisty attitude and always says something to make you laugh. make sure to tip here big. the food they serve for HH is pretty decent for free food. My favs are the nachos and the jalepeno pork. YUM! Kareoke nights are so much fun. I think it's on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. One down fall I would say is the Juke box. Always, always, always sit on the restaurant side and NOT in the bar area unless you absolutely have to watch a game. Trust me, you will thank me. :) My husband and I come here often and we love the restaurant atmosphere. The bar area, not so much. The salsa is usually a good indication if the restaurant will be good for us or not and it is great! The portions are very good and the servers are very friendly. They do have daily specials and great buffet prices if that's your thing. Plenty of booths which is what we like and they do have a projector to watch television on. They have DirecTV as their satellite provider if you want to watch a game or fight. I recommend their fajitas, beef or chicken! Love this place! read more
