After checking Toyota's actual maintenance schedule and speaking with two independent mechanics, it turns out neither service was urgent or required. A PCV valve on a nearly new Toyota doesn't need replacement at this mileage unless there are symptoms (there weren't), and the A/C cleaning is an optional deodorizing treatment. The part that bothered me wasn't the upsell itself, but the way it was framed: warm tone, urgent language, and the assumption that I wouldn't question it. Anyone coming here should double‑check recommendations against Toyota's maintenance schedule or an independent mechanic, because some of the urgent items I was given turned out to be optional. I'll still come here for basic maintenance, but I'll be double‑checking every recommendation going forward.

There were many available in different trims with various options. I drove up last Tuesday and drove the one I was interested in and negotiated and got a good price. The pricing currently on all brands of trucks are a bit outrageous but, I bought one in the limited trim (mid-level) that had all the options I was looking for. The "out the door price" was a bit under than what I expected and I qualified for 1.9% financing. In today's economy that's a score. I was able to purchase the bed cover, step rails and tailgate inserts and all were installed by the dealership for free. The bed cover alone is a thousand dollar install. So that translated to more savings. The salesperson I dealt with as well as the business manager were professional and courteous. I inquired here because the Toyota dealerships near me in North Carolina had much smaller inventory and would not negotiate on pricing. What was on the window sticker was the price I was told. It was worth the two hour drive up and back on two separate days to purchase a vehicle I was looking for.

Though problems existed with the Bed Liner, I noticed it very stained thinking I could clean it, discussed with the serviceman. After 3 professional attempts it still stained. I noticed that the featured rear integrated storage pockets were not provided. I texted this to the service department with pictures. In reply they said the pockets were in the front. indicating a shallow shelf. I sent them a pic of a truck (1500) they were quick to pick this out. not indicating that they were in fact, rear integrated storage pockets. IMO this is a modified, not new, showing cutting in the rear and little or no rib alignment, pictures available by text. They have offered to clean it or return it. Which being another 5-6-hour trip unacceptable to me at my age 77,not cost effective or health wise! They are welcome to set up appointment at my residence to change the liner or remove and provide a refund. They have my text number! I have received a voice mail in it you state, for some reason "I have a situation? No, I have a indicated new bedliner. That is dirty with stains showing having at least six inches of water in it, for some time. Seems weird also that it was back ordered but received in 6 days. Brought vehicle in for maintenance. Dealer rotated tires checked fluids and multi point inspection…read more 10 minutes after leaving dealership warning lights appeared on dash about tire pressure issue. "Rear tires low" Since it did not affect driving I continued home. At home I checked pressure with warm tires. Front tires were 37 psi and rear tires were 32 psi. Tire info tag on door frame states 32 psi for front tires and 39 psi for rear tires. I let the car sit until morning. Cold tires showed 35 psi in front and 29 psi in rear. Not even close. I inflated tires to the correct cold pressures. Contacted dealer and spoke with Jesse the service manager. He didn't seem to concerned and asked me if I checked the pressure before leaving dealer. I stated that it's not my responsibility to check to see if the maintenance was done correctly. Manager wanted me to drive 100 miles to have them correct pressures. That's nuts. Also on the invoice (attached doc) it states tire pressure as 36 psi in all 4 tires which is incorrect. The invoice also states that the engine air filter is dirty and needs to be replaced. There is not an engine air filter on an electric car. Also on the invoice it recommends brake fluid service on a 3 year old vehicle with 18,000 miles. Manufacturer recommends service at 48,000 or 4 years. Service manager was very condescending and of no help. Will not visit this dealer again.
