Don't we all wish we were treated as well everyday as we're treated when we're shopping for a big-ticket item? I had a terrific experience buying a used Toyota RAV4 at Grace Auto Sales this week. When I chose the less expensive model of the two cars I was considering, Soto never tried to convince me to buy the pricier model. He agreed that the one I chose seemed to be the right fit. Soto and all of his colleagues were pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere was laid back yet efficient. It's very important to me to support local businesses and a bonus when the business is family-owned. It's refreshing to be in the presence of folks who seem to enjoy their jobs and one another. I will update this review if anything goes wrong with the car. Otherwise, assume I'm a happy customer. NOTE: I suggested to the owner that he consider doing away with the scented candle that was burning in the front office. I made the point that while the candle smelled nice enough, many folks (myself included) are very sensitive to fragrances (as evidenced by the booming market of fragrance-free products). The owner received my feedback good-naturedly enough, but left the candle burning as he walked away. Meanwhile, I had to excuse myself, go out to the car and take an antihistamine, before I could return inside to complete the transaction because multiple chemical sensitivity is a real thing and those of us who have it spend extra time and money to avoid being overwhelmed by the off-gassing of scented products and services. I wonder how many folks complain about not having a scented candle burning when they shop for cars. ;-) read more

Gave us a bogus quote, took a down payment of$500, then changed the price offered for our trade-in. The deal fell through. That's ok; mistakes happen. But then, won't refund our $500, will not respond to emails. Reporting to the dealer board. read more

After looking around for a Toyota RAV4 I found one that seem like a good choice. I spoke with Faith Grace and told her I was very interested in it and could make it down the next business day. I set up an appointment for 4:00 and spoke with a sale person also. After driving 2 hours from Staunton, Va., to come see and test drive the car. Even though I received 3 appointment reminders and had separately confirmed with Faith, the car wasn't there at my appointment. That was the most unprofessional, and that's saying a lot for a used car place, I have ever dealt with. At 64 years old I've bought a lot of cars. Turns out they went ahead and sold the car that morning. They proceeded to try and sell me more expensive cars, saying they wanted to make it right, then followed up with they would give me no discount for my inconvenience. I left at that point. read more

Noah Brown was really nice and helped us find a few vehicles based on our family needs. Unfortunately, their finance guy Mike Passieux made it very clear in front of me while my husband was test driving that $0 down payment means no commission for them. If our financial situation at the moment was a little better than we could put something down but we're using that to repair the car that we do have (unfortunately, it just doesn't fit our whole family). Maybe they'd be a good fit for people who do have good/great credit and have $3000 - $5000 to put down on a car. read more

GRACE SUCKS! We bought a car from Grace, we were approved through their credit union, paid the down payment, drove home with our new (used) car after hours of waiting. Mike with Grace called me a few days later and told me they wanted $300 more dollars and that my interest rate was going up to 16.29 %. When I said "no way!" my option was to return the car and pay.37 per mile that was put on the car or pay the money. Since we live more than hour away, I did not feel that the miles were far. They picked up the car and refuse to give back our $600 deposit, they hang up on us every time we call to discuss this issue. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CROOKS!!! read more

Purchased a 2016 f-150 from Grace Auto 3 weeks ago and could not be happier. Price was great, and everyone in the office was helpful and made the process go smoothly. Didn't have to haggle with anyone on the price what it was listed for is what I paid! After a test drive, my only complaint was the wear on the front tires, the manager replaced them himself with no extra cost. Fantastic car buying experience! We were looking around to find a used car for my "newly licensed kids" and noticed a really great selections at Grace, and also couldn't ignore the great reviews for Grace. We arrived to take a look at a couple of cars in person, and Austin was terrific, let us test drive any ones we wanted, and was very helpful throughout the process. There is never any pressure that you frequently get at car lots. All of the cars come with Carfax, and many including our Hyundai Elantra purchase came with a warranty. John was so terrific getting all the paperwork in order, within a half hour of purchase we were driving away with plates on the car all good to go. John & Austin both reached out to make sure everything was going well a couple of weeks after the purchase. I stopped by Grace Auto to look at a used car that had a very specific optional feature that was not installed in most of the cars sold from that era. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the owner John Grace and I expressed my interest in that specific car. He looked over my drivers license and gave me the keys to the car to let me do an unsupervised inspection and test drive. Having some experience working on cars, I took a good 45 minutes crawling around inspecting the car (it was previously in an accident), under the hood (checking fluids), and using my diagnostic code reader before even test driving. During this whole time, the team at Grace Auto let me be and never once did they give me a "what are you doing" vibe. They let me make myself home and wanted me to be comfortable that I purchase the right car for me. After spending an hour with the car, I decided to pass on the car as the previous owner gave it more use than what I was hoping for. Walking back to John to break the news, I was anticipating high-pressure sales tactics (or extended warranty pitches) trying to hassle or guilt me into buying something. I was really shocked that upon hearing the news, John took no offense to it and respectfully took back the keys! He even followed up with me the next day to thank me for stopping by. Although that specific car wasn't the right match for me, the laid-back, no pressure customer service provided by John and the team would make me want to come back any day to try out their current offerings. read more

Delivered a different vin# car. Insured a vin#, they checked numbers and insurance before we picked up. Gave us a clean carfax... but car delivered has been in an accident. I asked for a new carfax on the vin# we purchased. They have never responded. Nice people? But in way over their heads. Make sure ever I is dotted and every t is crossed. I've had to replace all my tires and my stereo was never replaced. It has multiple error lights on now. I didn't qualify for any loans so I had to pay out of pocket for the cheapest car on the lot. Hopefully they've improved in the 1.5 years I've owned the car. read more

Wow, so I was referred to this newly opened shop by auto zone because they weren't able to check my sensor because it's an air bag light. I come here and aric checks it for free and even calls Honda to see if I can get what I need fixed for free by them. He is being such an awesome help and is not trying to just take my money. He's going over everything I need to fix before getting inspected which is so nice!!! I recommend this place to anyone who has trouble trusting a mechanic. This man is very genuine and wants to help! My daughter had to work so my mechanic and I went to Grace Auto Sales on Saturday to look at a car she was interested in. We were greeted as soon as walked up to the vehicle. We took it for a test drive and didn't like the way it rode. However, there was a SUV on the lot that I felt sure my daughter would like. We test drove it and brought my daughter to the lot the next day. She loved it. The car was listed at $6300. My daughter was paying cash so we asked the sales rep if he could do better on the price. He was adamant that he couldn't do any better. We asked if we needed to talk to the owner. He responded that the owner was his brother in-law and wouldn't do any better either. We got in our car to leave. My daughter decided to search social media to see if she could find the same make and model somewhere else for less. Imagine our surprise when we found the same car posted. From this same dealer. For $300 less. We went back in to show the ad to the sales rep and asked why he didn't offer us the car for $6000. He claimed he didn't know the price was reduced and that the owner must have done it. Really? A minute ago the owner was your brother in-law who wouldn't do any better. At that point we refused to buy from the dealership. Not really sure why the sales rep took such a hard nose stance of refusing to negotiate on the price even though it was advertised for less. We certainly hope it wasn't because we were customers of color. Caveat Emptor! read more
