I had insurance work done on a 2023 Explorer for damage to the driver's side headlight, due to ice flying off the roof from a vehicle driving in-front of my wife. This Explorer, my family's primary car, spent weeks at a competing Ford dealership in Prince George, without any real work being completed... Seriously almost 7-weeks... Moved the vehicle to Richmond Ford (via the body shop) and Jeff had it out the door in less than 2-weeks (waiting on parts included), and it was fully functional. Jeff from service was very communicative with the body shop (a breath of fresh air) and ensured the insurance company had the information they needed to approve the repairs. I highly recommend this service department based on this experience. I generally handle my own preventative maintenance, but I will not hesitate to return here when I need a proper diagnosis and/or repair completed correctly and in a timely manner. read more

Richmond Ford Lincoln is one of the worst Ford dealerships I have ever dealt with. I recently brought my vehicle in for what turned out to be warranty-related repairs. After diagnosing the issue, the dealership completed the work and informed me that the failure was likely caused by an outside incident. I knew that was not the case, but I paid for the repairs as instructed. Later, it was determined that the work should have been covered under warranty. More than 70 days later, I am still waiting to be reimbursed for charges that I should never have paid in the first place. To make matters worse, during that same period, my vehicle experienced another issue and the wrench light illuminated again. When the vehicle was inspected, it was discovered that the dealership had failed to properly tighten a hose connection during the original repair. That oversight was the cause of the warning light. They also neglected to reset my oil service reminder before returning the vehicle. Thank God I brought it to another dealership for service. Between the lengthy delay in resolving the warranty reimbursement, the careless workmanship, and the lack of attention to detail, I have completely lost confidence in this dealership. I even reached out directly to General Manager Mike Serpico in an effort to resolve my concerns, but the response I received was far from satisfactory. Overall, this has been an extremely frustrating experience marked by poor communication, substandard service, and a lack of accountability. My husband brought his truck in looking to sell, the truck was in working condition upon arrival, they had him sit in the lobby as they test drove it for over 45 minutes, within this time frame, something occurred in there hands that has now caused significant damage and the truck is now misfiring. Besides being treated extremely unprofessionally by the staff member, we were then offered no resolution by higher ups. Took my car for a so call recall that I had to pay for , because they say that the car is ok. In the process of that they call me to tell me that I need a new water pump, never had a leak or smelled anything . I was out of town so when I returned I pick up my car drove it and I smelled anti freeze, I looked under the hood and the antifreeze was filled to the top 100 times passed max. I then take it back to Richmond Ford Lincoln on broad st across from 7/11 and ask to speak to a manager, the lady called for 1 .while waiting the girl who scheduled my initial diagnosis asked what's wrong ,I told her so she say oh ill have someone take some out, a technician come s get my car and remove s the antifreeze. He say s he showed his service manager and they both didn't understand why the technician would do that. I have an idea) no manager ever showed im still smelling antifreeze which i never did before I came to Richmond ford. They only reason I was there is because a technician at Richmond ford west notice my antifreeze was a little low and keep my eye on it because ford has a problem with antifreeze leaking into the engine and it expires at 84000 miles. I was at 82000 when he told me about it. So Richmond Ford Lincoln across from 7/11 stated i didn't have that problem charged 185$ filled my antifreeze reserve to the top and now I smell it all the time. I'm done coming here. Every experience I've had at the service dept has been a nightmare. Total lack of communication about completion times (they'll keep your car for DAYS for repairs that would only take an afternoon in your home garage and only let you know at the very end of the day that they're keeping it again.) VIP Club is a JOKE! They'll charge you for oil changes and everything else that is supposed to be covered by it anyways. It's gotten exceptionally worse post-Covid. The service dept has aggravated me so much that I'm not going to buy another car from this dealership. Good luck getting in touch with a manager too! This is my second time coming for service. When setting up the appointment they asked me if I would need a ride on the shuttle or if I would be waiting. I said I could leave it and use the shuttle. And then when I get to my appointment, they tell me that the shuttle does not run on Saturday.!! I bought a used Escape from here. I live in Charleston, S.C and had the car delivered to my house. I have searched for a few months for a hybrid escape and this was by far the best deal. The gentleman that delivered the car to my house were very friendly. A few hours after having the car, I realized that sunshade on the moonroof did not work properly. I immediately called and Tu assured me that it would be covered. I took the car to my local Ford dealer and it was pretty expensive to fix. Their answer was that approach was not possible and that the missing items would arrive at Richmond Ford soon. Unfortunately I still have not heard anything back from Richmond Ford about these missing parts from my new vehicle. Overall, I would not recommend Richmond Ford at all. I have purchased a car from Sheehy in the past. Sheehy Ford apparently is a much better Car Dealership to work with on purchasing a car. These folks are SCAMMERS, BEWARE! I have read and heard so many bad things about Richmond Ford Lincoln, but they are the only Ford Dealership/Service Center in the city. Warning #1: They charge you a "Diagnostic Testing Fee" ($125.00), after you have told them what the problem is! I called two other Ford Dealers in area today, and stated they do not charge such fees! In addition, Richmond Ford Lincoln makes you sign a form stating that you understand the so called Diagnostic Testing Fee, so even if you decide not to have the repairs done, you are still stuck with paying the fee. You don't realize this until they give you a whopping bill with several Diagnostic Testing Fees, along with the actual charges to repair the problem. None of the other Ford Dealers make you sign this form. These fees, along with the repair fees, can add up to thousands of dollars! Warning #2: This service center is nothing more than a rip-off and a scam! I have written two other negative reviews on this board as well. In my opinion, it is their goal to charge the most for repairs, so they can try and sell you a new car. The amount they charged me was more than the actual value of the car. I will never purchase ANYTHING from Richmond Ford Lincoln. Warning #3: Also, beware of the "Additional Service Recommendations". This is just another way to squeeze more money from your wallet. Both my sales guy, James Craft as well as the finance manager James, kept making promises they never kept, changed the numbers on a regular basis, don't communicate. When it came time to drive from NY to VA to pick up the vehicle, I went over every little detail with James Craft. He assured me that everything was fine and the vehicle would be ready for pick up. I was charged $1000 for an oil change. Long story short: I had an issue with stalling, I took it to Richmond Ford, based on a flow diagram (there were no codes set) they diagnosed the problem as the throttle body. Charged $800 to replace the throttle body. Still had the problem. Took the truck back, they checked the oil and it was very low. (By the way, the Ford oil pan drain plug is 1-time use. If it isn't installed correctly it can leak. This is a known problem and has happened to us before.) They changed the oil and oil filter and charged $150 for checking the oil ("diagnosing stalling"). What a scam. Ultimately they changed the oil for $1000. We still don't know if the problem was solved. Never going back. read more

Let me start by saying the Sales Department is great and really work hard to get a great deal for you. Now the bad: I did purchase a certified preowned vehicle from them. I love certified pre owned cars because I know they are in very good shape. Not this one however. I drove it home and the fluid lights immediately came on and there was a scraping noise in the rear end. I couldn't take it back because it was already late. This means I had to take off the next day to drive 35 miles both ways so that I could get this fixed. They did fix everything without question however but why was it not caught in the so called inspection to make it certified. Next, it was time for my 1st free oil change, (which is cool by the way), and I dropped it off. This is when I found out I need a fuel filter replaced ($230). This occurs every 20000 and my truck has 26000 miles on it. How was this not changed during the certified inspection? I didn't receive a call saying my truck was ready so I called at 8pm to see since it takes me 35 minutes to get there and they said it was ready. No call. I get there at 8:50pm and get my truck in the dark. The next morning I go to get in my truck and there are greasy footprints in my tan carpet and greasy hand prints all over the plastic pieces. This makes me look at the filter. There was oil all over it leaking into my driveway. I called the service manager right away and was told they would get back to me immediately. No call. I tried a second time with no luck. Needless to say I wouldn'get your car there but there service department is so bad that I would definitely take it to another dealership to get it looked at. And absolutely go get it serviced by another dealership that cares about what they are putting out. If you are reading this good luck on your search for a new car. Update: I was not sure if anyone would see this review but the GM himself read it and got in touch with me to make things right. I must say that this definitely changed my opinion on this company. If the GM is willing to go out of his way to ensure customers are being treated fairly then why would anyone not want to go there. By far the best customer service I have ever had. To be honest, I'm a little mixed here. On one hand (when I got my car last year and when I've gone to the service center for oil changes, state inspections, etc) I've had good experiences. Plus, my initial salesperson was great. My biggest issue comes with their website. I purchased a new car a little over a year ago and have received numerous e-mails from them stating that "I understand that you're interested in a new vehicle." Many of these come when I attempt to go online to set up appointments for the service center, even if I have someone from "chat" set things up for me. Recently, I had to make an appointment for a recall notice on the vehicle. Nothing big, just an issue with the instrument panel. I had the appointment scheduled for yesterday (11/9) and I received an e-mail from them on the 8th suggesting i try and upgrade my vehicle to the 2016 version for "Just $110/mo more." I repeat, I haven't even done by SECOND OIL CHANGE YET!!!! THREE of them came with the purchase of the vehicle. On top of that, I still have 5 years of payments on a vehicle I have NO INTENTION of getting rid of OR upgrading. Today, I received a phone call from a sales rep (I didn't answer this one, my phone has already been ringing off the hook for other reasons, so I decided I'd let this this one go to VM, and I'm glad that I did, for both of us. I honestly think that If I had answered said phone call that I would have cursed out a salesperson that was just doing their job. To top things off, their online service center is clearly FUBAR, and what's worse they know it and their IT department has done nothing about it. I say this because of multiple times that I have attempted to set up appointments online or through chat that have resulted in sales calls and no appointments. I am a new Ford owner. I did not purchase my vehicle from this dealership but visited them very recently due to a leak in a tire. Based on my experience, I would not return unless I knew it was all covered by warranty. While I was waiting, I overheard them really upselling people on what sounded like bogus or inflated stuff. They told this one poor lady that she really MUST change her air filter and that she wouldn't want all that bad air getting in her car and it was very difficult to do because it was behind the glove box and it something like $50. This poor lady agreed. It is like a $8 part off Amazon and I did my own and I'm an idiot when it comes to cars. It's a plastic piece that snaps off to access it. Simple. Anyhow, back to my tire. They told me there was a nail in the tire and it would like $62 to patch and plug it. While I had been waiting, I called another Ford dealership on the other side of town and they said $30. I called Goodyear and they reminded me that they will plug and patch any repair for free (score). I tried to negotiate the amount just to get it done and they told me "they can't lower the amount." Of course you can, you just thought I'd be a sucker. When I mentioned the other Ford, they claimed the other Ford only patches it. Even if they do, a plug doesn't cost $20+ dollars. They said the same thing about Goodyear. I called them--not true. I heard them putting a hard sale on many customers while I was waiting from everything from having their system flushed, to an alignment, etc. Things people clearly didn't bring their car in for all this stuff based on what I was hearing. Service techs are clearly rewarded financially for this sort of stuff. I've seen a resume for a tech online (Linkedin) talking about "upselling customers on needed repairs." It speaks for itself. Went in today 5/14/22 for my complimentary state inspection that comes with the purchase of a new vehicle. Had a 830 appointment. This isn't my first time. I've been taken advantage of in the past so I look things over before I take my vehicle in. One thing I pay particular attention to is the wiper blades. I,ve been had by the old your wipers need to be replaced because they are torn trick before. I check every time before I get an inspection. I keep good blades on my vehicle's if they streak at all I'm replacing them. The blades on my car where the expensive beam type. Less than a year old. Drove there in a light rain wipers working perfectly no streaking no tears I checked. After waiting over an hour and a hafe for a scheduled state inspection our girl comes out and says everything looks great but your wipers need to be replaced because they are torn. I'm beyond furious. I had them put a rejection on it no way I'm paying them to replace wipers they ruined. I checked when I left with my rejection sticker 3 out of the four ends now have tears. Everyone was very nice and service director Corey tried to smooth things out assuring me they would never employ someone who would do something like that. BS. So be aware check your blades before you get your inspection you might be next. I got my replacement blades from Advanced down the street. As they had to be replaced now that they had 3 tears that weren't there when I arrived. Don't be fooled your free inspection comes at a cost. I'll happily pay my local shop for now on. read more

After months of saving and searching, my husband and I bought a Ford Explorer XLT from Richmond Ford Lincoln last week and we've been loving it! From beginning to end, it was an awesome car buying experience. Our salesman, Cody, took great care of us. We came in one day to look around and he was super nice about approaching us. Car lots are probably my least favorite place on the entire planet. I hate feeling like someone is breathing down my neck. I get that this is literally how they make their living, but sometimes I just want to look at cars in peace and go to the salesperson when/if I have questions. Cody allowed us to do that, but he was never too far away if we had questions. He was happy to unlock any car we wanted to see and let us get in. We were primarily looking at used vehicles and their selection was awesome. The cars were pristine and in great mechanical shape. We had done tons of research before stepping on the lot, and we were surprised by how fairly priced the used vehicles were. We felt confident that we were not being taken to the cleaners. The next day, we came back to check out a Ford Explorer XLT that had just popped up on the website the night before. We test drove that bad boy and ended up loving it. We knew immediately that that car was the one. The negotiation process was relatively painless. Again, we were armed with tons of research and a strategy, so we were prepared to negotiate. We'd reached an agreement and everything was going well until the used car manager came over and basically told us that he had no intentions of selling that car and it ended up on the website by mistake. He then proceeded to talk about the work that the car needed and said that we would have to assume some of that cost. I thought that that situation could have been handled differently, but in the end we reached another agreement that everyone was happy with and a few days later we walked away with a new (to us) car. The other reason why I've docked a star is because the engine light came on 2 days after we brought the car home. We shouldn't be having any issues with a car that just left the lot and had an inspection and other work done to it. It should be in pristine shape. Now, it's a hassle to take it back to the service center at the dealership one day this week. Overall, a great experience with a few minor hiccups. I would still highly recommend Richmond Ford Lincoln (and especially Cody!) to anyone looking for a Ford vehicle. read more

Riding around town today my husband and I were passing by Richmond Ford and decided to stop and walk around and look, Not planning on buying anything.As we were looking we came across a 2008 GMC Yukon, A beautiful truck, with a great price! As we were looking we were approached by Travis Woods, We immediately took a liking to this young man, Very pleasant and did not come on pushy at all, Which my husband liked very much! Needless to say Travis had us in the truck for a test drive and after that ride we were sold we couldn't let this truck get away from us. We live out of the area so it's always a little daunting to purchase a car from a dealership with which you have no history. Nevertheless, I had telephone and email contact with Stephanie Riggsby and James Johnson who was so accommodating he actually called me from his home on his day off! With most all the details out of the way, we arrived at the dealership and connected with the person James had referred us to: Marco Verdone. The sales process was accomplished with him and then he turned us over to the delightful Evelyn Rivera for the actual closing. This team, the two we didn't get to meet face-to-face as well as the two we worked with, guided us through a smooth transaction that ended with us headed home in our new-to-us Lincoln Continental.
