Then, things take a turn, I need to fill up moving permit in the City of Philadelphia. I need to know how big is the truck per city requirement. I tried to get in touch with him through phone and email to get the detail and also the logistic of the moving date. I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM!!. I was a bit hesitant to use this moving service primarily because they had only a handful of reviews which all happen to be five stars. I'm so glad I took a chance and scheduled a move date with them. They showed up a little late which is understandable since they were coming from another move. I was impressed with the care they handled my stuff wrapping my furniture with shrink wrap and furniture pads. The two men who showed up were super professionally and got the job done with care and efficiently. I really appreciated how they went out of their way not to scuff my floors and walls despite having paper down and padding up on the walls of my new home. Despite all the measures my headboard to my bed sustained 1/2 inch of damage and there were two scratch marks on my dresser but then again it's a move. I found Cool Moving from the great reviews I saw online to assist my wife and I with our move last month. Originally, and per our agreement, movers were supposed to arrive between 2- 3 PM. Four days prior, I communicated that the elevator reservation wouldn't start until 3 PM so it's probably better if the movers arrive closer to that time. The morning of, I communicated a good spot for the moving truck to park, and in response I received a text "Movers will arrive at 4 PM", I said that that was fine (note there was no apology or explanation from the texter). At 3:30 PM, 30 minutes before their already late start time, I receive a call that the movers actually won't be there until 6 PM. There was no apology or offer to make amends for now arriving 3- 4 hours after the original agreed upon time slot. I was suffering from a migraine at this point and had to reach out to convince my property manager to adjust the elevator reservation time. The movers arrived after 6 PM and didn't finish up till nearly 11:30 PM. The only reason they were able to finish up by that point is because my wife and I jumped in to help get it all done as soon as possible, otherwise they would have left much later. My brand new desk ended up scratched and damaged from the move, I can't help but think it was because the guys were tired from working a nearly 16 hour day. We tipped them well for the effort they put in. I am frustrated that I didn't receive an apology or acknowledgement from management of how unprofessional the whole experience was. We spent a lot of money on this move and would have gone with a different moving company if we knew the communication and timing would have gone the way it did. At the end of the night, the guy handling the money asked if it was ok if he rounded up 10 min to make the money easier... exhausted and knowing he couldn't make the call to round down, and we didn't have small bills, I said yes. In hindsight I am incredibly annoyed that we actually paid more for the service. Rather than going right to leaving reviews to warn other potential customers, I requested that Cool Moving makes amends for the poor experience we had: A start of 3-4 hours after the agreed upon time, no apology or acknowledgement for the inconvenience, we had to jump in to assist with the move in order to get the job done before midnight (note I was still not feeling well from a migraine), my wife's cancelled evening plans, paying more for the service, and a damaged desk. I sent an email directly to the company 2 weeks ago detailing our poor experience and have yet to hear back. A very disappointing experience, and I recommend others do not use Cool Moving. read more

These guys were awesome. I was pleasantly surprised. I felt like the scheduling was easy but there was a bit of a lack of communication. However, they showed up at the time they said they would. They were super-fast and listened to instructions very well. I actually had run out of boxes and a few supplies so had planned to transport a few things on my own. I still ended up doing so with a few items because it was like pantry items. However, they packaged my mirror for me. I'm pleased to say that everything arrived intact - especially my mirror that they packaged. They very swiftly took my bed frame apart and assembled it when we arrived at my new apartment. I got emergency situations. Two other movers canceld and didn't show up on time. So had to call bunch of movers on Sunday which is normally don't open office. Cool movers picked up call and said yes. I was so nervous while waiting them. But they actually showed up even before on time. Three movers came and did really good job. They wrapped up dressers and couch with blankets. And no damages on all furnitures. They didn't break up while driving to new place(it's what happend previous moving, showed up after an hour for 20 mins distance). I booked a move for my son on 6/29/19. The booking process was very efficient as everything was done on line. A $50.00 deposit was required to hold the reserved time but, that was a small price to pay. Three movers arrived and worked swiftly to breakdown the furniture, load it and transport it. The entire process took a little under 4 hours and all furniture was put back together and installed as instructed. My son felt a little guilty and asked, "are we supposed to be doing something?" Cool moving was incredible! I needed last minute movers on a Sunday and they were extremely accommodating, and did not charge me a weekend rate. They were extremely provisional and VERY flexible. I had hung temporary moving signs so they would be able to park their truck close to my new apartment, and upon arrival there were still cars parked in that spot. The movers said it was not a problem, and happily moved my furniture further than they anticipated. They were extremely quick while being cautious of all of my personal items. They started at 9 AM and I had just about 20 boxes, a queen bed, dresser, tv stand, and some other very small pieces of furniture (think 2 or 3 other pieces that I could move myself, so they weren't heavy). They took 4 hours to move me out of the 1st apartment and another 2.5 to move me into the next apartment. Mind you, I had reserved elevators at BOTH LOCATIONS. Not to mention, they got the elevator stuck in my new apartment building - and then they had the nerve to tell me they may have to come back Monday. When I said the price/time it took was ridiculous, he said "You don't know moving." I've moved 3x the distance in half the time before. When he first arrived at my building his comment was, "This is a nice place." They clearly tried to take advantage of the situation. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

We booked them a few days before our moving day. After setting up a time on yelp, we placed a $50 deposit online to reserve the time. It was really easy, as it was all online, and we got email receipts after the transaction. At the end, when it was time to pay, you're credited for the $50 deposit. The movers (two guys and a moving truck) arrived about 15 minutes ahead of schedule (ours was the 2nd and final move for them that day). They called and texted me before to let me know they'd be early. After they arrived and started working, everything went off without a hitch. The guys took apart our furniture, moved our things, protected everything that could possibly need protecting (honestly, they were far more careful with our belongings that we are), and worked really hard. They also wore masks, and were courteous and professional the whole time. Our move was a smallish house to a larger house. The heaviest things we had were couches. I don't know how they'd do with something like a piano or pool table (so you might want to ask them if that's you), but for our situation and furniture, they were great. On the way to the new house, a thunderstorm broke out, so once they got to the new house, they paused work for a half hour so our stuff wouldn't get wet. We were not charged for this time. No surprises during unloading. The guys worked hard, and carefully. At the end, there were no surprise fees; the bill was exactly what my wife and I expected by multiplying the hourly rate they quoted us by the total time. The total price was quite reasonable, especially given the quality of their work. Honestly, I'd feel the price was still reasonable if it were 30% more. I would not hesitate to hire them again (although hopefully not for some time); I've recommended them to friends who are planning to move; and I wrote this review because of the great job they did, and because I noticed there were no reviews from our current COVID times, so I figured I should get the word out. read more

Scheduling the move was painless and they were able to accommodate my move with late notice. The hourly rate was competitive. But that's where the positive experience ended. Moving a studio apartment less than 1 mile took more than five hours. I sent the movers home without reassembling my furniture because they had already hit the 5 hour mark. And they made sure to tell me they charged for a full hour even if they only spent 10 extra minutes. The movers were polite enough but clearly not professionals. They seemed to lack the necessary equipment and did not know how to use my buildings service elevator. They had trouble operating the moving truck which was way too big for my job. And the pace was so slow. What should have been a $500 job cost $900. I reached out to the company afterwards to explain the situation and was very disappointed in the response.
