not my first solar system, so i knew exactly what i wanted -the types of equipment, panels, inverter, monitoring, i sent this to a number of companies, mega solar was $5000 less for the exact same system as another company. they also went the extra mile to route the conduit so it didn't show outside, and navigated my steep roof, they came exactly when they were supposed to, got the rebate applications done and did the installation quickly. they answered the telephone immediately or a text, i can't think of anything they could have done better, but if there is an issue i will review that too. so far excellent products, price and service. i would recommend these guys. read more

Should have known better to continue with this company when it took multiple follow up emails from me just to get them scheduled to do an initial inspection to troubleshoot my system as my original provider went out of business. Some of the panels had been disconnected and needed to be reconnected and troubleshooting done. The said it could take up to 2 full days to do the work and quoted me a very high cost as a result despite me arguing that it should not take that long. They then showed up had the system reconnected and working within 3 hours. No change in the original charge. Then the system went offline that night, in other words it was only up and working for about 6 hours. Now they want to charge another $500 just to come look at it again. There is a good reason that Mega has so many 5-star reviews. They did a great job installing my system. I am very happy with it. I would give them 5 stars for that too. The problem is...that is not where their responsibility ends. They are responsible for monitoring your system to make sure it's functioning at all times. It's in their contract. In fact, when there is a problem, the only people who are warned about it are at Mega. The homeowner never gets a warning. So imagine my shock when I got a $2000+ electricity bill, and checked to find out that my inverter had stopped working 3 months earlier. Where was the monitoring? The warnings? Ok...mistake made. Just replace my inverter and cover the cost of my electricity bill. Yeah...no. They gave me a new inverter, but that's where they think their responsibility ends. After weeks and months of emails and phone calls, and giving Mega every chance to make this right. They finally offered me 25% of the bill amount. Nope...not right. Entirely their fault. Then silence. Nothing from them. No response at all. So, these reviews I'm leaving are my only recourse and the only way to let others know about Mega Solar. Even though the are not completed yet I figured I would put in a review on where we are currently. Most of my issues are with scheduling or lack of. I would steer clear if you want it quick or like to be notified on progress as they will leave you hanging and all of a sudden without consult schedule something and hen you have to scramble to make it work. I had at least 6 people in our community waiting to see how things go so they can pull the trigger as I am one of the first in our HOA to get it and use me as a Guinea pig to see how things go for a template..Well might one day use me as an example if it is ever completed but owners will have to find the own solar company. I ditched Tesla Solar because of a lack of customer service and thought Mega would be better.. Roof worked on.. Pretty quick but no communication on when the arrived or completed Initial power work and install Battery...Great electrician as he fit in what was needed in a smaller area the first noted. We are up to a point they scheduled an inspection 2 weeks ago and where suppose to show up but again no show and finally emailed they and just comes back 3 hrs after hey we're suppose to be here and tells me they submitted for inspection and they messed up and had to resubmit... Their 5 start reviews are from the past, years ago. It was my mistake not seeing that when I choose them. They may know something about the field they are in, but they have no sense of logic when it comes to customer service. But they do not know how to communicate nor be reliable nor be responsible. They have an excuse or silent, no replies. You ask them a question, the representative needs to "refer to the crew" amd has no idea. They have no system of knowing when the appointments are, they will show up RANDOMLY. And some of them are third party vendors when I talk with them. COMMUNICATION was the main issue. Would it a huge amount of shopping around with different companies and every single one promised us only a certain amount of panels to begin with. This company promised us more solar than any other and that was already extremely attractive. They were done with the installation in two days. Goes without saying the very professional way they answered all our questions before closing the deal which was fabulous. They were with us every step of the way through the inspection of the city and they really facilitated it. They are a family company and you could just tell by not only the installation but everything else involved. To this day when we have a question, we speak with them on that very day. Truly is a calling your own family members. We're extremely happy with our equipment. It's been working for us for a good few years, and even though equipment is no longer consider to be top of the line, but It's performance is flawless.
