With LinkedIn and social media being such a big deal now a days, you better look profesh, and you better look good while you're doing it. She made everything stress free for me and guided me through the process. I'm not used to professional pictures, but she made me feel comfortable and confident during the shoot. Tried on some different outfits with some different backgrounds at her studio (which is lovely and nicely decorated) The day was painless and casual, she had a quick turnaround process and gave me a stunning final result, including a great editing process for some general blemish removal, etc. Would highly recommend Kara not just for her professional photography skills, but her personality and her ability to make you feel at ease. She cleared her schedule and was able to beautifully capture my increasingly huge and more active, less sleepy infant. The preparation that went into the shoot was top notch from the heat being turned up in the studio so my baby wasn't cold to the wide variety of outfits, props, sound machine, and she even had a camping/outdoorsy background that fit our nursery theme! We BOTH felt we were in the best of care; my baby is normally fussy in the hands of strangers but Kara had a way of calming him to get all the cutest poses effortlessly, and I as a new mom was able to finally relax for a few hours. She is also a mom to two littles and was incredibly easy to talk and relate to. It was apparent she truly loves her career and genuinely cares about her customers and their family.. which is increasingly hard to find these days! When searching for a wedding photographer, I had a fairly big list of wants. Upon researching the…read moreperson we *thought* we were going to book, we found some shady dealings and legal scariness. I decided to look elsewhere. Searching high and low for GOOD photographers with nice portfolios at prices that weren't obscene was a difficult task. And then I found Sondra! Her prices for a wedding (as of Autumn of 2012) included the engagement session as well as 10 hours on the day and didn't charge a travel fee (she was coming from 90minutes or so away). Amazing. And REASONABLE. We did pay a touch extra for high resolution images to keep (as opposed to those sized best for snapshot-sized prints) and a print release. We haven't yet ordered our large prints through Sondra, but do plan to. Her pricing there is very competitive. On the day, there were a few shots that I really wanted that she didn't get, but looking back I feel that perhaps I didn't vocalize these desires quite enough. However, there is barely evidence of my mother at the reception, and only 1 less-than-grand shot of me walking down the aisle and that did make me sad (and is largely why it's 4 and not 5 stars). Sondra was GREAT, however, as sliding in unnoticed to capture very candid photos for a modern, photojournalistic approach to wedding photography. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sondra to anyone in Wisconsin looking for an event photographer. She's really lovely to work with and the photos are beautiful as well.

Her prices are very reasonable as well which was one reason we chose her, and her price included engagement photos. There were a few shots that I would have liked to have that were not captured, but overall she did a great job. Some of my relatives even commented that she seemed to be everywhere, especially at the reception, snapping shots of so many different people and things going on. If you are looking for a great, professional, and easy to deal with photographer, and are not super picky about every single shot, Sondra is a perfect option.
