I went to this theater to see the odyssey in imax. It was super packed with long lines for concessions. It moved pretty quickly. We got popcorn. It was good but tasted a little stale. They have the Coca Cola freestyle machines. The Diet Coke brew was good. The imax theater doesn't have lounger chairs, but it was still pretty comfy. The handrails did sort of block the screen, so I wouldn't recommend the aisle seats. Overall it was a good experience. read more

Welp, I'm officially a Cinemark girl. I've been a big Megaplex go-er since the COVID era. I've racked up quite a few points because I see a movie with friends almost every Sunday. But we went to their competing theatre this week and it may have put the nail in Megaplex's coffin. Out of the last 8-9 movies I've seen, they have had kettle corn available only once. And it literally tasted burnt. The kid said, "Oh yeah, we ran out of sugar..." And the other times they just said, "We don't have any." On our last visit, we saw quesadillas were back on the menu so we ordered one. NOPE. The kid said, "Our grills aren't hot..." My friends and I are kettle corn people. We don't go for the buttered popcorn like everyone else. And now that it's consistently unavailable, we will indulge in our sweet and salty delight elsewhere. On top of that, the new app doesn't show your loyalty rewards points. So yeah, not loving what Megaplex is(n't) offering. read more

Unlike Michael, the movie I came to see, this theater is a one hit wonder for me. When ordering popcorn at the concession stand I was told by an employee, with two flanking her side in agreement, that any size of popcorn had one free refill. So, we chose the medium for my popcorn-loving son. Unfortunately, when he returned for his sole refill they denied him. Upon the ending of the movie, I went to clarify and they told me that was not true. No refills. Bait and switch at its finest. False advertising. Flat out lying. Train your employees better. Or yet, just stand by your flaws and apologize and give up a medium bowl of popcorn. We all know that's Pennie's to make. Not impressed with this location. Does not even deserve one star. This theater advertises ADA accessibility accommodations for Deaf and hard-of-hearing guests, yet twice I was unable to access a movie because the closed captioning devices were either broken or unavailable. The first visit involved repeated trips out of the theater trying replacement devices that never worked. The second visit -- using the compensation passes from the first failed experience -- ended with staff explaining that most devices were nonfunctional and the few remaining working units were already in use. Management confirmed they are aware the equipment is aging and unreliable but indicated replacements are not expected in the f oreseeable future. At that point, this stops being an isolated customer service issue and becomes a serious accessibility concern. ADA accommodations are not meaningful if they are routinely unavailable, unreliable, or inadequately maintained. Deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons should not have to wonder whether they will actually be able to understand the movie they paid to see. I hope this theater takes accessibility seriously enough to invest in functioning captioning equipment and reliable support for all guests. read more

Came here to watch LILO & STITCH for the first time. We got the luxury seats that was nice and so was the Tuesday special $6 movies(I believe it's advertised as $5 but after fees & tax it's more like $6). We enjoyed the yummy popcorn and treats at the concessions stand. Seats were comfortable, parking was convenient, workers were kind and helpful. We'll be back again. read more

This place is old school and not worth going to watch a movie. They charge so much for the recliner chair seating which is known as "luxury" but it's really nothing special. It's not an experience you expect coming from all the marketing that they do in regard to social media and other platforms. Don't waste your time or money. read more

There was food in the floor not only in the theater, but in the front area, hallways and the service was ok. For our first time here, only as our other theaters around was full. We will not be back. They dismissed the group's explanation, and despite the children's special needs, they were forced to leave the theater with no further explanation or support. This experience was not just frustrating--it was deeply traumatic for these kids. For children with disabilities, especially those on the autism spectrum, moments like these reinforce feelings of isolation, misunderstanding, and exclusion. A simple outing meant to be fun turned into an overwhelming reminder of how easily they can be judged and mistreated. If I could rate this a 3.5 stars I would but it's clover to a 4 then a 3. I got to see how to train a dragon early about a week early! Great movie by the way I would get into the details tho. But the seats are meh at least the ones in my theatre room for the movie. The seats had the loudest squeak so when your chair back rest moved backwards it created the loudest squeak which was just not ideal for a new movie experience. So the entire movie you just heard random high pitch squeaks. The movie theater was massive which was assume. When you go to the lobby they have lots of photo ops they have massive specialized movie displays that are not the normal ones you see at every theater. What I didn't like about the lobby area is it's confusing to navigate.the employees are not helpful at all. But what I did like about the lobby is they have lots of seating to eat food, a phone repair store(random), very very big which is a double edged sword tho. But I definitely will give it another shot to see if they have better theater rooms. I would also recommend for you to check it out as well! read more

Here's why: All Megaplex Theaters have points you can earn by simply providing them with your rewards card or better yet, phone number. I haven't paid for popcorn or drinks for quite a while--not only because of the rewards I've stacked up personally but also the random emails and rewards they send out because they love their customers. All Megaplex Theaters have $5 Tuesday, which also correlates with cheap popcorn, drinks, and nachos. (Ranging from $1-$3). And the best part? If you use their app, you don't get charged any online convenience fee. WOOT WOOT PARTY PARTY. All Megaplex Theaters have delicious food and comfortable seating. Luxury Loungers? CHECK. D-Box? CHECK. Even their regular peasant seats (which I will happily sit in) are spacious, slightly reclined, and have plenty of leg room. I'd also recommend their loaded nachos with pork and a shake to wash everything down. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything you choose. This one specifically is located right off Bangerter Highway and in the midst of plenty of restaurants and shopping centers in the District. The employees are always a pleasure to work with, the bathrooms are spic and span, and there are plenty of tables and chairs in the lobby if you feel like going a little early and eating some food prior to your flick. TIPS & TRICKS: * Park on the east side of the theater, you can slip out those exit doors following your show and bypass all the front door traffic. * Concession stands are located both before and after you check your ticket, so if there is a large line in the lobby, try going around and ordering from the backside. Went and saw Top Gun 2 in iMax and it did not disappoint!! We were all shocked by the sound levels even in the previews! It was out of the his world even before the Jets made their screen debut! This place was packed on a Saturday night. There wasn't a lot of parking, we had to go to the very back. It's in a strip mall type thing with so many places around it gets crowded fast. The showing we wanted was full, so we sat in the food court area and waited around. There was a lot of options for eating, pizza, Nachos, Ice cream, French fries, and much more. We had a refill cup and a large popcorn for our movie. The chairs in the upper levels are too close in my opinion, should've gotten a different seat with the reclining and stuff. Next time! We went July 16th, Row P17 thru 20...70% of restaurants closed, half movie posters, gone, charge thru the nose for food. Sat down, all our shoes stuck to the floor. For 2 1/2 hours, stuck to the floor. 1 seat, P17 had a rod going thru ( acress) the back that was so painful my husband felt it the next day. All the seats sagged, armrest dirty. You would think that a business that survived covid would want to make great impressions after it had opened back up. Not here! It's hot these days. Really hot. Don't expect air conditioning. The snack stands were ridiculous!!! It was understaffed; and those who were there had no idea how to do anything. Our group ordered everything from popcorn, pizza, shakes, fries, etc and everything in between. There was a problem with every order. Every one!!! I got ice cream (see the aforementioned heat note) and it was the WORST ice cream I have ever tasted. I know some ice cream is superior to others, but worst? I couldn't even eat it! The handicapped seating was limited so they could have more "first class" seats with attached trays. There are lots of theaters, so luckily I don't have to go back. read more

Three stars are generous this time for many reasons would rank a one star. What was great-- having reserved ed my seat and ordered food from concessions at home before leaving for the show. This was a first fir me I walked right to the pick up counter and popcorn was hot and ready while the main concession counter had a very long line. Only thing that could be improved is when I arrived I was enticed by one other things not ordered ahead and in order to add to my order I would have had to go stand in the long line. The girl who was working at the counter had a computer but couldn't "ring up" anything additional,. She just stood there. On a more serious note, I cannot believe this even happened or was a thing.... I can only imagine the liability if someone -- like me-- had been seriously hurt--- in the IMAX theater as the credits ended, in a flash, all at once the theater went completely dark!! No lighting on the steps-- keep in mind the IMAX is a big theater with steep steps-- I was on row P‼ NO exit signs were lighted-- it was PITCH black. So dangerous ! The theater still had a good number of people still seated ad well as standing clear to the top top row-- at first everyone just kinda froze there like WTH , I gathered my purse, popcorn, drink and blanket. ( obviously an arm load. I very carefully and slowly started to make my way out of my row to the stairs. As I went down the steps holding on to the railing for dear life. Would be a good assumption that I was the oldest person in the theater and the only physically "disabled" person. Thankfully a teenager who was already down the stairs had a flash light he directed up the stairs to light my way--props to his mama! He also asked if I needed help. Nice experience in the theater up until the lights went. Outside of the IMAX-- there wasn't a worker or Megaplex representative anywhere to be seen. It was 15 minutes after midnight--if someone had fallen down the stairs would more than likely have been seriously hurt. I decided to order the popcorn from the concessions and pick it up at the theater curbside. The process was simple easy online using the megaplex app. When I picked up the popcorn I found it was not warm or freshly popped. It was actually very old tasting and cold. I was very disappointed. This movie theater was a such a great experience! Cleanliness: This was the cleanest movie theater I have ever been in, and I'm a clean freak. From the restrooms to the theater itself, everything was super clean. Friendliness of Staff: I loved the staff! They took the time to patiently take our entire order, and they got everything right. They were happy to be apart of the team and happy to serve each customer that came through. Size: The theater was huge! For those who might be cautious of the virus, this is the place to watch a movie! There is so much space starting at the lobby all the way into the theater room. That is what makes this movie theater number one. They have it all from clean roomy seats to IMAX and even a little outdoor shopping district right across from it. Plenty of parking and you get to select your seats when you purchase your tickets to ensure you'll get to sit by your friends. To sum up, Megaplex 20 is the golden place for an epic movie night. It's got everything I've come to expect from a Megaplex... big lobby, big theatres, and crappy self-serve kiosks that glitch out like the one I tried to use on this day. The mobile ordering system is a mess. I have to wait in one line to get in another to pick up food. We arrived 20 minutes early and had to stand in two 20 minute lines. If you're going to do online or mobile pick up you need to have a screen showing when certain peoples orders are ready instead of making everyone stand in a line and show you a stupid QR code with your order and then making their order on the fly in front of them instead of actually having it ready. It's basically the same thing as having another normal concession stand you've just slapped the mobile pick up name on it instead. You'd think after a pandemic that this would be common sense but apparently not. Also the facilities were disgusting gross and sticky. I'd give less stars if I could. read more

For a theater that charges this much and equal to other theaters with comfy seats, it is total garbage and a ripoff. I usually either go to Cinemark 24, or Regal Cinema, which those have enough spacing between you and the people around and very comfy recliners. The seats here were a joke. Very uncomfortable leather seats, that if you're 5'10 or taller, or a bigger person, you'd feel squished. If you've ever sat in a crowded bus, that's how close the other people sit to you. I had to push down at my feet most of the movie so the seat pushed back at a comfortable angle to watch the movie from row F and my neck was still sore. There is no A/C or movement in air. The air feels very still and hot. There is not enough room between you and the next row for anyone to easily walk across. The whole experience from Check-in to getting to my seat felt a lot better at the cheap dollar mall that we used to have on 5400 s. Redwood Rd. than at this dump. read more

The Megaplex 20 is arguably one of the best movie theaters in the Salt Lake Valley and certainly amongst the best in Utah. We are very fortunate to have awesome movie theaters here in Utah because Utahns love their movies so much. We're also lucky to have had a benefactor like Larry H. Miller to finance theaters of such awesomness. The Megaplex 20 At the District has 20 screens of cinema, comfortable seating, excellent audio and video quality, and friendly staff. Reserved seating and online ticket purchases (must haves in my opinion) are just additional icing on the cake. I also really like that you can grab a pizza, burger or whatever and take it the movie. Sometimes that can be a downside if you are seated next to someone who is a noisy eater, but usually by the first 10 minutes of the movie everyone is finished eating and its pretty quiet. Came here for the Star Wars premiere that my friend got free tickets to. When you first walk into this place it you can smell the wonderful aroma of pop corn. There are two ways for you to get your ticket, that will be electronically by the door, or up at the counter with a person. Pass the ticket booth there is like a mini food court for you to get your snacks and goodies for the movie. The seating for this place isn't really that comfortable. It is quite small and like 20 mins in the movie I felt super cramp and uncomfortable that I won't be able to concentrate on the movie and enjoy it. I just kept thinking how long left for the movie and how can I stretch a bit to be more comfortable. The movie quality is the same as other theater. There really isn't anything that special. All in all, I won't really want to come back here for a movie. I rather go to century 16 or the sugar house theater where is a bit more comfortable to sit for 2-3 hours. read more

4.5 stars... I'm so amazed to the difference between a CA theater and a UT theater. This is an amazing movie theater! First, it's in a great location. It's nestled in a bed of shopping stores. Parking was easy, and not that far from the theater. We had arrived for an 8:45 PM movie, so pretty much all of the stores were already closing or were getting ready to close. Walking into the theater complex, I love the fact the all the ticketing is indoor. That might be because of the extreme winter weather they have here. The reason why I even comment on this is because in CA, ticketing is mainly outdoors. We do have cold weather in the winter, so I don't know why they don't do the same in Cali! What I did find a little odd is that ticketing is not first come, first serve. In a way it is, it's just that you have assigned seating when you purchase your ticket. You can choose your seats when you purchase the tickets. Ticket price was phenomenal, compared to Cali prices. Went on a Tuesday, and it was matinee price all day, $6! And regular price is $8.50! Definitely better prices compared to Cali! So, there is a fairly good variety of food choices, but they do close a little early. For night goers like me, I'd still like to grab a good bite to eat. Love the fact that there's a crepe place. MMMM, saw the jars of Nutella. I'm pretty much a popcorn and soda kinda guy when I go to the movies. The soda cups seemed a little flimsy, especially for a large drink. They may think about using sturdier cups or purchase plastic. But the popcorn was excellent! Love the buttery taste and how light the butter was. At an AMC in Cali, the butter topping is kinda thick and oily. The theater itself was awesome! There's so much leg room. The sound quality is so much better than what I'm used to in Cali. I really love the fact they have cup holder tray attachments! But I didn't like the fact the the cup insert of the tray that goes into the seat cup holder didn't fit. I was so "scared" that the tray may fall down! Seats were average in comfort. What I can't wait to see come to this theater is the new seats that are featured in the lobby. Kind of a 4D experience. The seats shake and move as if you were in the movie.
