Sunday Bruch, of course, it was packed 25-35 minute wait ... 40 minutes later we get seated. We had the brown butter pancakes and they were huge and disappointingly not too fantastic... just eh We also had the sausage benedict, Poached eggs were over cooked, the sausage was pink, hashbrowns were in the fryer a bit too long did not have a soft inside at all the buiscuits that they came on were so hard and soacked up with all the grease from hash and sausage ...only good thing was the chipotle hollandaise sauce and the fried potatoes. I can't say enough!! We called in take out order and ask if I could get a mimosas to go! For my bday breakfast and they went beyond. They gave me a whole bottle and trio in the house. This place USED to be great. Today I went there with my sisters for brunch and for the 2nd time in a row we were extremely disappointed. We ordered breakfast items - easy, right? My over medium egg was barely warm and my banana waffle was almost cold, although both were served on a very warm plate. I asked for the waffle to be warmed up (how does the butter melt otherwise?) and it was returned on a hotter plate, but the waffle was still not warm enough to melt butter. During all this time one sister had her (also barely warm) food, but had asked for some ketchup and my other sister was sitting there without any food at all. Well, by the time Sis #2 had her (admittedly hot, thank goodness) food and we could ALL eat, Sis #1s food was cold, along with my own food. Sis #1 and #2 were never brought butter, jam, or jelly for their toast and Sis #1 had to ask for ketchup again! As you can see, the timing in the kitchen and the attention to detail is totally missing! And to top it all off, there were flies INSIDE! I don't know if I will ever go back. This was very similar to what happened in the last disappointing visit - cold food, repeated requests for things that should be anticipated by a good server. Megg's just rocked my world with THE BEST ramen I've ever had in my LIFE! (Better than anything in Austin, TX) The man behind the ramen knows what he's doing! We had the pleasure of chatting with him for a sec after I told the waiter to go tell him it was officially #1 on my list. Came here for breakfast based on reviews. It has a family owned charm to it with friendly folks. The decor is maybe a bit dated, but it is fine. Certainly not a trendy or hip spot. We had the pecan pancakes. They had a an interesting flavor. I found them to be on the dry side. I would be unlikely to order these again. We also had the crabcake Benedict. This was a good Benedict. The sauce was rich. The portion size good. The crabcakes themselves were moist and lightly breaded. This was good. The cappuccino was average in my opinion. Served in a tall glass. This place is SO good. My coworkers convinced me to try it one day. The cinnamon roll French toast and the pretzel bites with queso are my favorite. The pretzel bites are so soft and fresh. You will not be disappointed if you get them. The house potatoes are one of my favorite sides. Megg's is unlike any breakfast we've tried in the area. Much better then your typical breakfast chains. Busy on Sunday afternoon. Seated outside where wind screens are mostly broken and banging against metal railing. Great atmosphere Coffee served was luke warm. Mini were a good appetizer. Food was served in a fair amount of time but without any silver wear. I eventually had to get up and go request some since the person who served our food was already on another task. Pastrami sandwich was terrible, over medium eggs were hard, potatoes were cold, dbl burger was embarrassingly disproportionate to the bun. We have been here once before and were surprised how mediocre our 2nd trip was. $92 later were were leaving and thanks Meg for having an automatic gratuity to make the visit that much better. We went here on Mother's Day so the wait was long but not having made a reservation beforehand they got us in really fast. Our server Cynthia was super nice and attentive. The real highlight was the food though. I got the Benedict combo with a classic egg's Benedict and an avocado Benedict and both were absolutely amazing. Have been here twice since I've moved back to Temple and this place reminds me of several good spots I left when I moved from Austin. The breakfast is great, waffles and pancakes are the best I have had. Potatoes are awesome, eggs fluffy and good ( scrambled). Coffee is good also. For lunch I have had the chicken and waffles , also tasted the chicken banh mi, fried chicken is the best in the area, as stated earlier waffles are the best I have had. Banh mi is good, I like a little more authenticity to my banh mi sandwiches and there for I like mine a little stinky from the fish sauce. But this was a good sandwhich for those who can't find or stand the odor of an authentic banh mi. For this area, you can't beat this place. Nice customer service and it's a cute homey place. The waitress suggested the deviled eggs which were good and I ordered the bahn mi with pork belly and the housemade chips. Very good! The sandwich was a bit messy and it was so hearty that I only ate half and took the rest home. That is the epitome of a Texas style bahn mi! We love Megg's we go there quite frequently and we take out of town guests there they've always had rave reviews. But last two times we've gone not so good first curbside and then we had Mother's Day meal delivered. The curbside steak and eggs they gave us scrambled eggs instead of over easy really not what I want with steak and eggs really disappointing. Second Saturday before Mother's Day we put it in the order via waiter which is their delivery preference and waited and waited after quite a while the driver was courteous enough to tell us that he's been waiting 45 minutes at Megg's so when we got our food probably another 45 minutes later definitely very cool still tasted good after we doctored it a little bit but really I'm sorry guys got to step it up to get back up to five stars read more
