My experience with Mehraban recently was a brief one, but an excellent one. We are in the process of selling our grandmother's home and disposing of some of its fine contents for which, unfortunately, we no longer have use. One of those items is a beautiful Persian carpet about which we had very little information. I caught Soheil a little bit after hours, yet he was still kind enough to take the time to look at pictures of the rug and provide some very valuable and expert information about its history and value -- information we'll be able to use in deciding next steps. We have been buying beautiful rugs from Sammy Mehraban for 20 years and there is no reason to shop anywhere else! We recently purchased three Persian (Gabbeh) rugs from Sohiel. We had been shopping for one rug, but at the price, quality, and value offered by Mehraban Rugs, we decided to purchase three. We would have purchased another if we had found a place for it. Sohiel was kind, polite, and extremely professional. There was no pressure, and while I don't think that Gabbeh rugs are a large focus of his business, he was very knowledgeable about the style and discussed and explained the rugs, their attributes, and his pricing. I had a very fine quality Persian Antique Isfahan rug that was gifted to me by my parents. I came home one day and noticed my dog chewed a corner of my rug. I was really disappointed and stressed out as what I should do and who to take it for repair since this rug was very fine and it had a sentimental value for me. I asked some family members and they referred me to Mehraban rugs. I took my rug in and one of the owners Soheil examined the rug and assured me that they can fix the rug perfectly. They had the rug hand washed and cleaned first and then restored by their repairman. When I went to pick up my rug he asked me to find the place that was restored and I couldn't locate it. They had the fiber dyed to match the exact color and the foundation looked perfect. My rug looked exactly the same as day one. I was also fascinated by their beautiful showroom and beautiful rugs.
