This review is specific to the pharmacy. Over the past year I have dealt with an illness that has brought me to the meijer pharmacy about once a month, not to mention having to go for your normal medicine, toilettes etc needs. In the past, I had gone to a mom and pop kinda pharmacy where i know i would get good advice and get excellent service. I am lucky to have found similar service at the Meijer Pharmacy on Marburg. They have bent over backward for me on multiple accounts. For example, i was running late from work to pick up a prescription and I called right as they where closing and stayed open an extra 20 minutes so that someone would be there to give me my prescription. Amazing. On another day, I was having trouble getting ahold of a refill from my doctor. The meijer Pharmacist hooked me up with a 3 day supply and said they would take care of getting things worked out for me so i dont have to play phone tag with my doctor. Three days later, My script was filled and i was happy. Whenever i go in for something like cold medicine, the pharmacist remembers what Im already on without having to look it up and makes recommendations. Its never a fun experience to deal with sickness, but the crew at the meijer pharmacy have helped me feel comfortable and I know I can rely on them in the future. read more

Not the best. Not even close. The lighting is bad, the store is way too big to navigate, yet they never have everything on your list. Yesterday evening I ran in for 1 thing, which took too long to find. Went to the self checkout lanes and 4 out of the 8 were working. That about sums this place up. I avoid it. read more

Meijer's are pretty much all the same, but that is a good thing. Having everything under one roof can really save you time. The self checkout section is great for when you are only buying a few things. I think one thing that I kinda hate about Meijer is the coupons that come out at the end of your transaction. In particular the one where you can save $X.xx on your NEXT purchase... and if you're like me, you always forget to use that coupon and then you feel bad. Oh well, not a big deal, but just irksome. The deli department is the worst!!! After waiting for 20 min with 2 other people in front of me. The 2 workers are so slow, they appeared to be having difficulty finding the deli products. When it came time for me to place my order, I ordered 2 items and told the lady I would return.... because I wanted to pick something up in an aisle close by, since they are so slow. When I returned... the clerk said how much did you want???? I SAID YOU ARE KIDDING ME. How fair was that. After reviewing my receipt I was overcharged for 2 items...now I'm upset. Once I go back to get my money owed, I'm never going back to that one for a long time, until they change for the better. read more

Recently I had to go to the Marburg Meijer's store to do a merchandising job. This is a big store that offers a lot of variety as well as essential grocery items. The location is conveniently located off of I-71. I like that the produce department is the first thing that you see upon entering the main door on the left. The produce is fresh and well stocked. The employees are friendly and helpful when I need help or have a question. I am not a regular shopper at this store but I like to go there when there are produce specials especially on grapes and berries. This past week I discovered a good price on sweet potatoes at $0.99 per pound. My grandson and I love them. They had extra ripe bananas at $0.29 per pound. Bananas are another thing my grandson loves. I can not recommend that you shop here regularly. I have found most of the prices in the store are either more than the Kroger price or the store brand is not as good as the Kroger brand. Love this meijer, I usually shop either early in the morning or late at night which seem to be great times to go. everyone seems great, greeters are always in a good mood. I never considered shopping at a meijer until moving to Oakley and now I don't even consider target or Kroger. Also, the clearance section is always fantastic. Mrs. Meyer's soap for $2 was the latest deal that I loved. Overall great work. read more

This place is huge, yet I often can't find things on my list! Also, the food tends to be really close to its expiration date. It's like a Walmart, but my experience here has usually been worse than at Walmart. It's so big that I often need some direction on where to find stuff. Yet, I can't find staff to help me out. Also, I signed up for their rewards program and for some reason the rewards card has never worked. Employees in the store tell me to call the customer service line to get it fixed but the two times I called I was bounced around the phone system and gave up. There are plenty of other equal and better options in the area for grocery shopping. I don't need to go out of my way to figure out where things are in this store and to get a rewards card working. Well I have to respectfully disagree with the first reviewer. This Meijer is AWESOME. I have been to Kroghetto(es), Kroger and Bigg's in Hyde Park, even Trader Joe's, but Meijer is the one place that I can get everything when I need it. I think the selection is much broader than you would find at any of the other grocers, yet the prices are comparable. I also love that it's open 24 hours. Last year, when all I did was study, I actually found it comforting to browse the aisles of Meijer as late as 3 am. You probably didn't need to know that, but I just told you. Also, for those unfamiliar with Meijer, it's pretty much a Walmart -- half grocery store and half clothes/home furnishings/kitchen stuff/etc. There is also a US Bank, Great Clips, Starbucks, and something called "Toy Depot"? Anyway, I love Meijer so much that it warms my heart. I realize how scary that seems but I won't fight it. read more

Regarding grocery selection and prices, as well the deli, you're better off going to Bigg's (Hyde Park)

We have been shopping for groceries at Meijer's lately. My wife is an excellent shopper and saves us money with coupons and sales. A week ago we went to Meijers on Warsaw and used coupons and their MPerks program. This week we go, and the refuse to accept printed coupons, just like the ones I used the week before. We had 12.00 of coupons to use that were refused. I would not have bought the items if I did not have the coupons. Should have left the cart sitting but did not want to make a scene. They should post changes to policy instead of just putting their cashiers and customers in an uncomfortable situation. Walmart here we come. read more

I kind of hate this Meijer...the employees would all rather be somewhere else rather than here, including but not limited to customer service, the cashiers, the deli workers, the photo develeoping people.........everyone is just very unhelpful. I have completely stopped getting my pictures printed here, they always look awful. Last time I was here, an electronic wheelchair was beeping SO LOUD for about 20 minutes and I asked a cashier why and he said it just needed to be plugged it, it makes that sound when it's dying... I love this store. I recently had surgery and the employees were so helpful. I was able to get everything I needed under one roof and didn't have to spend a lot of money. They always have the best produce. The fragrant smell of the bakery and produce being right there as soon as you walk in just draws you in. True, every time I shop here I buy things I didn't come in for....but in the long run I would have needed it anyway. Every now and then I run into long lines, but that's everywhere as far as I'm concerned. So of course I'll be coming back. read more

I had a terrible experience at this Meijer location. I wrote to customer service about my experience and was told I'd hear directly from the store. I waited and then sent a message asking when I would hear from them. They responded and told me very soon. I've waited. Nothing. Apparently my bad experience doesn't matter at all. Never going back there! Here is the letter I sent to customer service... The shopping trip I took on 10/3 was the worst experience I've ever had at a Meijer. I shop there at least once a week for the last 5 years. I am on a fixed budget and try to save where I can with coupons and take advantage of specials. After my shopping I went up to the registers and there were only two registers open that weren't self service. The lines were very long because the store was so busy. I reluctantly went to the self serve. It's hard to scan coupons on the self serve isles. The flatbed scanners don't read them as well as the handheld scanners. Only having one person helping 6 customers at different stations can make it more of a hassle. I'm sure there is a business benefit to having self serve kiosks. As a customer, you stand in line to do everything yourself and stare at close to 20 registers that are closed so you can save labor and make us do the work for you. Brilliant business advantage I can imagine. I'm a restaurant manager so I can relate to how managing labor is important. However, if you have ever gone to my restaurant I don't make you wait for an extended period of time standing in line and waiting for a table staring at empty unused tables. Imagine what that would feel like for a moment. Then when you get to the table, imagine having to go pick up your own food in the kitchen and get refills of your sodas. What horrible customer service! Imagine that and you would know what it feels like to stand in line at Meijer waiting to check yourself out. I digress. So I scan in my items and proceed to start scanning my coupons. Assistance needed....ok I wait. Here's the bad part. "Well, it's not scanning so you probably copied this and it's not real". Accused of stealing? From a coupon clipped in the Sunday paper?? Seriously! I ask for a manager. I wait for 15 minutes to be helped. No apology. No greeting. No acknowledgement that my time is important. I tell the manager how upset I was and she told me "I gave you your coupon." "I had to come from the complete opposite end of the store." Not my point. I was giving honest feedback. She just stormed away. There was a couple waiting for help next to me staring at me watching me get brushed off by management. I noticed they were staring and I started to cry. I was so embarrassed. I started to pay and the screen froze. It took everything in me to not walk out or scream but I stood there waiting for help again. Some very nice man who was off work was waiting in line behind me to buy something and he stepped up and assisted me to complete my purchase. The kiosk supervisor was now ignoring me most likely because I told the manager she was rude. Bottom line. Get it together. Coach customer service. Hire some folks and open the 18 lanes you have closed every day. Hire another manager so that the one angry lady doesn't have to walk across the store for a coupon. Are coupons an issue? Don't accept coupons! Mark everything down lower than your competitors and abolish those unscannable pieces of paper. Get better scanners? Figure it out. I hope you all never have to experience what I did. If you do they won't care. read more

This Meijer is one of the best. They have just about you really need at great prices. The store is clean and is well laid out. you don't have to hunt for things for ever because things are were you would think they would be. if you can't find something the staff will always help. Another good thing i like is that it is not not on a bus route. there are store that are closer to me but i don't go there because of that. I have nothing wrong with people that have to ride the bus, but those stores are so busy because of that and loud and to many kids running around with out there parents watching them. read more

Meijer has a decent selection and pricing. When I shop here it's usually their greeting card section that usually brings me in. I think they carry a nice selection of funny, cute cards that I can't necessarily find elsewhere. read more

Wow what an experience! I came in to use their shipping after hours for the USPS and "Shannon" (7:45PM) who was working customer service at the front desk went out of her way to help me. She was unsure of what she was doing because I had some unique needs and she does not work for the USPS but she was bound and determined to make sure that everything went as it should. I usually like shopping here. It's usually not too busy. They could have more registers open because not everyone wants to scan and bag their groceries after working all day. Both pharmacists, Dale and what's-his-name (of Middle Eastern descent?) are annoying and unpleasant. Dale has the strangest personality and looks like he hates life. I have switched pharmacies because of numerous issues where they have given the wrong amount, lied about having my scripts ready which wasted a trip, etc. Avoid the pharmacy and your experience will be decent. Also - if you approach the deli counter and get Cathy (Kathy?) to wait on you, you have it made. Hands down the best deli employee they have, very professional as well as friendly. read more
