I received a flyer about the opening of new Meijer, so I stopped in. I have never been to Meijer with the exception of Fairfax Market which is a smaller Meijer. It's easily the best shopping experience in Richmond Heights. There's just a few problems. This Meijer is huge and has a pretty good location close to the former Richmond Heights Mall. There is construction right in front of the store (lanes still open), but there are also helpful arrows indicating parking lot entrances. I was not happy with dim parking lot lights at this Meijer as a woman navigating my way back to the car in the evening time. Inside this Meijer is very clean and spacious. All departments and aisles are clearly marked, it is easy to navigate the store. There were only a few customers inside so the checkout was quick. The store is very well stocked, there is a lot of variety, and large number of local brands. There is even some local Brush Arcs merchandise. Prices are average, no super specials seen. There were a lot of choices for food to go at the end of the day, which is a plus. There were even some rotisserie chickens left which is a rarity. Sushi was very tasty. Pricing was very weird though, browse before you buy. I was looking at hot prepared chicken with 3 pieces for almost $7, then cold prepared chicken with 7 pieces for $5 something. Same chicken. So price compare before you buy. The standout was the produce aisle. The produce looked amazing and so fresh. I was amazed and navigated the entire produce section. It looked better than even at stores such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I was very impressed. One thing that discouraged me from returning is a heightened level of security. I understand the need for loss prevention but this was excessive. There are cameras everywhere to the extent that you feel like you're on a reality show. There are also employees who strangely stop to observe you and walk after you. I've experienced it thrice within maybe 20 minutes at this store. It's just very strange. Not a very pleasant shopping experience. It's just excessive I hope that this store improves. It has great potential in this community. read more

I visited the newly opened Meijer in Richmond Heights and am thrilled to report that it's a great one! My prior experience with Meijer was limited to the Fairfax market. This store is huge and has pretty much everything you would need. The store is HUGE!! It sells groceries, pet stuff, home goods and so much more. There is plenty if parking up front. It's clean with lots of employees present to help if you have any questions. read more

This is a very nice Meijer! I was visiting family in Cleveland and needed to run to the store. This Meijer is new and well organized.

I was at the store on Tuesday and the cashier who was overlooking the self scan checkouts by the pharmacy area was very rude.. another customer was having issues with something and then the employee took it out on me.. really need to learn to not talk to people that way. read more

SUPPORT Meijer Richmond Heights! THIS STORE IS AMAZING! I visit this store often, and let me tell you... they are absolutely crushing the "highway robber" across the street. The staff here is consistently outstanding: kind, considerate, and genuinely helpful. One cashier even pulled money from his own pocket to help me when I accidentally left my purse in the car. That kind of integrity is rare. The store is spotless, the team is amazing, and the lines move fast. This place sets the standard for what great customer service should feel like. I'm proud to call the Richmond Heights Meijer my primary store for food, prescriptions, and even shoes. Go Meijer! read more

This is a beautiful grocery store. They have a sketchers wall, a fish wall, and everything else you can think of. And don't get me started on their shopping carts! They are smooth as BUTTAH! read more

I understand it's relatively new, but I think by now they'd have hired enough help. Saturday afternoon surprisingly they had four cashiers, but only one person managing self-checkout. At one point there were four of us with red lights needing assistance, one station down and 21 people in line. The attendant who also ran the 5 or less line was over there checking out a customer like it was full serve. Also one of those registers was down. How you manage coupons changed since last week and it's very ambiguous. The attendant got snippy when my friend asked how to use his coupon. I was unable to use mPerks. Berries were moldy and nectarines were rotting. Overhead signage is still questionable. And seriously buy 10 quarts of yogurt to get one free? I'm not a cafeteria. Once they stop with the spend $30 get $10 off coupons I imagine people will choose to go someplace with better customer service and fresh food. read more

I also received a $10.00 off coupon with a $30.00 purchase. My first visit was pretty good as the prices were about the c=same as other stores in the area. The produce was higher in price and the selection for me was not that great. Frozen food section was about the same price as competitors, so the coupon did save a little. 4th trip there, the prices went way up. Bait and switch. Some things like pet food were 10% higher for a what was $28.99 and the frozen foods were higher also. So much for the savings as all it was is a get you in the door, keep you coming back then raise the prices. Not impressed at all. read more

Prices are always good. Always rated as one of the 2or 3 lowest priced stores by channel 3 in the morning. The quality of veggies and meats are always top tier and the quality clothes, shoes and other items are a great addition to the wonderful food!!!! read more

I was so excited to have a Meijer near my house. My partner and I went opening night. We had a great shopping experience and were raving about the place until we got to self-checkout. A staple sticking out of the packaging on a dog toy cut my hand while I was bagging it. I started bleeding on the register and the floor and could not find assistance for several minutes. I got queasy and lightheaded and was on the floor next to the register with my vision blacking out. After several minutes passed, I ran to the restroom and got sick. An employee left two bandaids on the restroom counter and left me there alone laying on the floor. An employee told my partner he was not to leave the register. I was unable to put the baindaid on myself in my lightheaded state and tried to leave the bathroom to get help but collapsed on the floor outside the bathroom. No one came to help. A woman (not sure if she was an Meijer employee or a customer) chastised me for being in the way of her photo shoot and told me to move to get out of the shot. Eventually I found a bench to sit on while my partner remained at the register for several more minutes. The lack of compassion or response to my emergency was appalling. It went beyond poor customer service and felt like a total lack of human empathy. We were told to wait at the register for at least 20 minutes without any assistance, despite my condition and clear need for help. When we left, with not so much as an apology, the blood had still not been cleaned up, and another customer was approaching the register to use it. I left with a little less faith in humanity and over $300 in groceries. I won't be spending my money here again, and I urge you to get your emergency protocols in place. read more
