I have been going to MeijerS for my entire life since I grew up with Michigan but had never been to this location as I don't believe it was built the last time I was in the Holland area. Actually, almost everything in the area was new since I was in Holland as a child and it was basically just the outlet mall with a hotel close by. I was very pleasantly pleased to see that they had all the ideas I was in search for while home visiting and that I wouldn't have to go to multiple locations. In FL it is Oscar Myer country and I dislike their bologna as I am a Eckrich girl all the way. You can also not get Stehouwer's Sizzlers in FL as it is a Michigan based company and I previously have looked into having them directly shipped down but with them needing dry ice, it's a fortune. Last but not least is Wyler's Mrs. Grass soup that suddenly all the Publix locations in the Tampa Bay area that I visit have stopped carrying. So annoying but I stock up on everything while I am at home, freezing the bologna and sizzlers and then bringing them back in a cooler on my flight as it's a quick direct flight back. Call me crazy but whatever... if in season, you can add Michigan Sweet Corn into my stash. When I first started doing this all the TSA people went through my bag and would just give me a funny look until I explained and then laugh at me. Oh well, this location was clean and very well stocked, which I greatly appreciated. read more

This was your typical Meijer but was right across the street from our hotel, which was certainly convenient. We stopped by on Fri. night for some snacks - they had blackberries on sale for 99c a container - and we stopped by on Sat. night because my Fitbit battery died and I wanted a new one. They have batteries in the front of the store near checkout, but this was a specific type of battery (CR-2025) so it ended up being in the Electronics section, which is in the back right-hand side of the store. The only thing I'd change here is the self checkout area - it winds around twice, which I thought was odd, although on Sat. night the store was packed, so that could be why (more room for people to line up). read more

I love Meijer. I can shop for clothes, home goods, baby items and then go grocery shopping in the same place. I also got my prescription. On my latest trip Matthew checked me out. He is my favorite employee in the whole store. I appreciate all the savings I get on food. On top of that I have M Perks to get free items or discounts on gas. Thank you very much! read more

I went today to get a few things, snowing of course, I picked up a few packages of 80-20 burger and noticed the price was about $2 more per pound than usual, we do all our shopping there so we know what's normal, it's complete price hiking because of the weather, these people are stealing from their neighbors, we noticed that a lot of items were more expensive. you might say that's just good business, maybe if you don't have a conscience, we use this store and do not want to go else where to get our groceries, we just want fairness, we are retired and live on a fixed income so this is important. read more

I am visiting from out of town. I went to Meijer for some groceries. I asked the Sandy D in the produce department if they had oregano. She made eye contact with me, walked around the greens island looking at signs and then walked to her cart and continued to head to the back. As she left I said "I guess that's a no". Lousy service. Had to go to Family Fare for oregano. Meijer used to be known for one stop shopping. read more

Stopped in to get some organic meat and veggies to cook for dinner. I came to the wrong place. There were no organic apples, maybe a total of 7 produce items that were organic. The lady at the meat department looked at me like I was crazy when I expressed disbelief that there were only 2 options for organic meat. It is disappointing that Meijer doesn't have a higher commitment to providing meat & produce devoid of GMO's and toxic chemicals. read more

They have just about anything you need and I love the variety of produce. Most of the store is well organized and finding a help is a fairly easy when I have a question. I occasionally use Shipt but items are often out of stock. Since Shipt isn't listed on Yelp, I'll give them a shout here: - I love that I can get healthy food delivered to me when ill. This is why I signed up because I would blow $30 on restaurant delivery and it wasn't even good for me. - So far, shoppers have been friendly and on time. - Items do cost more but I'm also not blowing a bunch of time in store making impulse food purchases. ;) - Listed items are often out of stock. I to run out to my local store a couple of times, defeating the purpose of Shipt, but I'm still happy with the service. () Okay, back to MEIJER! You may never realize how much you take having a Meijer for granted until you move away and there are none in your state. I went through this Meijer-withdrawal twice! Haha! read more

This is a newer Meijer, huge, with a Starbucks inside which is always a plus. They also have a pretty nice produce section, and the prices are always fair (except on meats, chicken out here is EXPENSIVE!) We always stop here before heading out to our cottage, and really everything you need is here. Grocery store plus Target rolled into one, can't beat it for convenience. read more

We have this chain "back home" but this was my first time stopping in to one. Looks like a cross between a grocery store and a K-mart inside. Maybe the equivalent of a "Super Target", but not quite the selection that Target might have. Anyway I got a sweet deal on a folding beach chair and wasted 20 or so minutes playing with the HP photo kiosk. Fun! read more

Came with a friend to mail out a package, who has done it many times. Never had a problem before doing so. Employee (Jo) older woman, was VERY rude. Immediately became defensive saying she never has sent out a package this way before. Her and a Manager stood there and spoke about how they just changed the system and got no notice. Regardless she should have not been rude. It's my friends fault that YOUR employer failed to give you notice? No it's not. She should choose another profession because customer service is NOT for her! read more

Hmm. I think in my previous review of this store I must have been confused and thought I was writing about the south side store. Yes, this is a newer store so it looks nicer on first glance, but even though I'm a fan of the Meijer stores in general this one is one that I really do not care for. It's probably just me, but although they have what I'm looking for I can never seem to find it. I almost never have that problem in their south side location. On the few occasions I've had to interact with the employees here they give assistance but I have never met one that seems to even be trying to fake that they're happy to be there serving you. I try to avoid this store and I don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

I am on a common generic medication for high blood pressure. I have never gone to the north side Holland Meijer Pharmacy and found that the prescription is ready the same day it is prescribed by my physician's office - always have to return 2-3 days later. Why in this day of electronic communication does it take 2-3 days for a pharmacy to obtain and process a common generic medication? This store is very clean and the service is very friendly when you can find someone the registers are usually backed up unless you want to check yourself out at the automated register. Prices are about the same as all other Meijer but I think the selection is greater at the Southside but it is newer and a very good example of how a Meijer should should be. read more

The new shop and scan app is terrible! Not once have I been able to check out without problems. It is hard to operate, you have to search for where to start the scanning and when to total and check out. The one rating is too high. read more

This store refused to do a return for me that was on an unopened shelf that purchased two weeks prior. I only wanted in store credit for the 39.99 item and the refused to do anything for me and also refused to tell me why. They have lost my business and this is only my second time shopping here. Management handled this entire transaction very inappropriately. read more

I go to this store because it is close. It has a lot of products and the prices are good. My complaint is serious and it involves food safety and sanitation. The deli sections (both fish counter and lunch meat counters) are not clean and the people working there don't seem to have any training or knowledge of sanitation. Fish placed on the scale for weighing often slops over onto the bare metal without any consciousness of the worker. In the lunch mean section, there are meat shavings all over the floor near the slicing machines. The most galling thing is the attitude of the workers when you say anything. They are really offended and get terribly annoyed. Then, during the self checking out areas, the scanning machines are almost always smeared with food and liquids. The workers manning the machines seem to NEVER go around and make sure they are clean by wiping them off every now and then. Again, if you say anything to them, they act like you are being so unreasonable. Aren't these cleaning routines a matter of basic food handling and sanitation training? After several times at the lunch meat counter and getting the same reaction when complaining, I now go to D&W on River and Lakewood to get our lunchmeat. They are so much cleaner over there and courteous. read more
