We were visiting friends who live in the Akron area. We stopped into this Meijer in Kent for some booze. Evidently in Ohio only certain stores can sell booze. Meijer is one of them. Oh, Meijer also has electronics, ya' know just in case you need a TV to go with that vodka. Maybe grab a sandwich from the deli on the way out, they have prepared foods too. Also non-prepared groceries. Need a cake and flowers for a special someone? Hit up the in-store bakery and florist. Clothing? They've got that too. I think I remember seeing a snowblower on sale there too. I don't think we have anything like this in San Diego. Not even a Walmart Supercenter is selling a snowblower! read more

I had to change my rating. The past year they have gone downhill drastically. I had an order ready for pickup between 3:00 and 3:30. They were literally loading my groceries at 5:15. (I have screenshots) I sat there for 2 hours. They could have let me know that they were running late and asked if I could come later. I would have just left if I would have known that they wouldn't charge my card. Also they went from using plastic to paper, the paper with handles weren't too bad. But now they've gone even cheaper and every single bag we carried in ripped. And lastly I only earn about $2 per shopping trip now were before I could earn up to $20 today my bill was $480 and I only earned $2.97.... that's not exactly a reward. Strengths: great sale and ecoupon prices. Website is easy to use. Stores are bright and clean. Weaknesses: Online orders, always late if you choose a time range for pickup plan on the end time as the pickup time . For example 11-12, your order won't be ready until after 12. But if you want to edit your order hours before, you can't because it is being prepared. No communication during the shopping of your order. Other stores will text you if there is a substitution but Meijer does not. You can however add substitution preferences before you submit the order. It's hit or miss on how quickly the order comes out once you arrive. This particular store is pretty quick but other locations are not In store shopping: If you go to the self checkout he prepared to feel like your an suspected shoplifter, like everytime. You are watched like a hawk and I have had associates come over and double check my scanning. I am by no means trying to steal from Meijer, but it is just a suspicious vibe. read more

If you're considering working at Meijer, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The whole experience is a disaster from start to finish. From the moment you walk through the door, you're expected to know everything. They throw you into the deep end with little to no training, expecting you to figure out things within the first two days on the job. There's no gradual learning curve it's sink or swim. The management doesn't seem to care about its employees either. Communication is poor, and you're constantly left wondering what's expected of you or if you're doing things right. It feels like they expect you to be a walking encyclopedia of store policies and product locations without giving you the time or resources to learn it. Then, let's talk about the pay. It's far too low for the amount of work you're expected to do. You're on your feet all day, handling difficult customers, juggling multiple tasks, and yet the paycheck just doesn't reflect the effort or stress involved. The expectations are sky-high, but they don't compensate you accordingly. If you're looking for a job that offers stability, proper training, and a fair wage, Meijer is not it. It's a revolving door of frustrated employees, and it's no wonder people don't stick around for long. The whole environment is stressful, overwhelming, and, frankly, just not worth it. Like this Meijer location! It's fun to do a little shopping here when I'm in the area. I can pick up items here that I can't find at other stores. The prices are good too. It's a very well-lit store and parking lot. The shelves looked organized and it was easy to maneuver a cart through the aisles. I noticed as we were approaching the checkout that there were many lanes open with either very short lines or no lines. The cashier was friendly and efficient. read more

Watch your receipt, especially if you are distracted by your children in the checkout line. This isn't the first time where I've been double charged for an item at the Brimfield Meijer, but this time it was for $15.99! Of course I didn't realize it until I got home, almost an hour from the store. So my loss I guess, but like I said it's happened more than once here. I guess I'll go to the Stow Meijer from now on, they haven't double scanned any items before. read more

This store is huge and mostly well-stocked. I found the gluten-free items hard to locate but the enormous cat food and treat section made up for that. The meat was well priced. In produce: no good grapes and too many varieties of apples. The deli personnel were just wonderful. Time and care was taken with cleaning slicers before preparing my order. That's great for someone with celiac disease to see. The pictures don't express the cavernous interior of this store. If you don't know your way around, expect to be there awhile. Next time we go I will bring a list so that I can stay on track! read more

The store is continuously under staffed, the food is on the self after expiration dates and the store management doesn't care. They encourage customers to ring and bag their own groceries and then you have to have your worked checked. It is not like you get extra discounts doing this, you do it to expedite the shopping trip. HORRIBLE shopping experience. If I could give them negative stars I would. First of all, the sign reads "open 24 hours," but the gas station locks its doors. So I availed myself of the restroom inside the grocery store. After which, I thought I'd buy a few items. Saw a sale on Smart Ones and some Outlast popsicles. The store was closing so we checked out. (I thought it was open 24 hours?) Anyway, in order to avail myself of the sale, I was told I had to download the Meijer App, then register, then validate my email. AFTER all this, then I have to tap the Meijer App button on the SELF CHECKOUT (WTH, if I wanted to be a cashier, I'd have applied to work as a cashier), then I have to rescan the items that are on sale to get the sale price. After I screwed around for 20 minutes at the checkout with ZERO help from the 5 or 6 workers who were standing around waiting to close the store, I gave up. Walked out with no groceries, after insisting they cancel my transaction and log me out of the system. A store that doesn't even have a courtesy card? They have sales, but they try to discourage anyone from availing themselves of the sales. HIDEOUS EXPERIENCE. I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN. read more

I've been there quite a number of times. Every time has been an enjoyable visit. The employees are relaxed, helpful, courteous, seem to be content and like their job. I very much appreciate this. Most of their prices are cheaper than Wal-Mart. I will NEVER patronize Wal-Mart again. The only thing that they don't have is petite hip hugger jeans and clothing for short females and missy clothing. If they did this would be my go to for every thing. One other thing ... my husband and I were looking for boots ... there are signs saying due to covid19 do not try on shoes. When did a respiratory infection (any flu or such) stop common sense? Just left Meijers in Brimfield and will never again return as a food customer. I was waiting at the cashier lane and had all of my food on the belt as the cashier finished with the customer ahead of me. She finished and then told me to go to another lane as she was closed. My husbands order was also on the belt. We had been waiting about 10 to 15 minutes. I reminded her we have been waiting that long and she said I'm closed. We left everything and meijers has lost two customers for life. What poor customer service! Never again. read more

I love meijers in general but they need to evaluate one of their employees in the meat department it is a young kid at the one in brimfield ohio and half the time he won't talk to you and when he does he says "looking for something" then you go to tell him what meat you want and he acts mad like you're bothering him that he has to help you. He then doesn't give you a chance to pick out which cuts of meat you want he picks them out and slams them down then once their wrapped he just throws them on the counter and doesn't ask if you need anything else.....he doesn't say a word and he does this with all the customers.....please tell me why I buy my meat from here when I'm treated like this??? And why is he always there??? I'd rather go to the one in stow honestly at least the guy at the meat department there is friendly....
