Found this gem when I was looking for a local cafe to get a gift card for my sister who goes to a church nearby. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, this place. Housed in a former little school house, everything about it is charming. When you enter up the stairs there is a place to order your coffee, tea and other beverage options and they have the most amazing looking bakery. They also carry gluten free bakery which all looked soooo good. I ordered an Americano and my son ordered hibiscus blueberry tea. The girl behind the counter was super sweet and friendly. They have a nice seating area decorated with different tables and chair sets, orchids and other plants on the window sills, another coffee bar just without the bakery where they make the beverages. They have a shelf with games, a small table and chairs for little ones, the cutest table decoration of glass flowers in different tea cups. We played a few games of Connect Four, I did win one game but won't say how many we played. I found the prices very reasonable. There is more seating available in the lower level which according to the sign is also used for private events which is good to know. I wish I lived closer because I could definitely see myself going there quite often with friends. They did not have a shortage of customers and the girl at the counter greeted an older gentleman who ordered ahead of me by his name so obviously a repeat customer. I also like that they have art work for sale from different artists on the wall for purchase and have children's pictures displayed on a door. So many good vibes!! read more

What a cute little coffee spot! Hillside is a great place to grab a quick coffee, stay and do some work or just relax and enjoy the ambiance. They have a large variety of coffee drinks and do have seasonal drinks. I have had their iced coffee (which they serve with coffee ice cubes - frozen coffee - to not dilute the drink) and various lattes and can say they are always delicious and just the right amount of sweet. Their bakery is also very good and they have a large variety of baked goods to choose from. Staff are very nice and friendly. This is the most adorable coffee shop I've ever been inside of. It's in a cute former schoolhouse. They have a variety of homemade pastries and treats to choose from at the main station where you order and pay. They then have you enter the main room, which has an eclectic mix of seating arrangements, where you can wait for your drinks. They serve either in to go containers or on China! Their coffee is delicious as are all their treats. (Don't forget to try a cinnamon roll! That's their specialty!) read more

This was once a school, now a coffee house with amazing baked goods. There was a line when I arrived and it moved very fast. The ladies working are all extremely friendly and welcoming. There are several tables to relax and enjoy your coffee, and lots of windows with natural light and plants, a very calming place, and there is a whole downstairs as well. I love the lattes and desserts! Very cozy atmosphere! I understand having days off but I really wish they would be open on either a Monday or Tuesday because my son goes to school those days. We went to Hillside Coffee House for a cup coffee while in the area. it is in a repurposed old school with it's history on display throughout the building. While the coffee was good the bakery was superb. Nothing against Yelp but it deserves a Michelin star. The dough was melt in your mouth good and the fillings and flavors were creative delights. We made sure we were there when they opened the doors the next day Too, Had to wait a little bit as things were just coming out of the oven. Thought about getting the same as I had the day before, but each day brings new delights Looking for an excuse to go to Oak Creek again. This week I made my first visit to Hillside coffeehouse and I've been back nearly every day since! I was not aware of Hillside until an Uber driver mentioned it to me because of their gluten-free offering. Their homemade bakery items (including the gluten-free) are exquisite. So far, I've sampled their gluten-free tarts, muffins, and cupcakes. And all were amazing! While I was there, I found out that they make gluten-free bread every Wednesday AND they also offer pizza every other Friday - including a gluten-free version! (I picked up my first order of six gluten-free pizza slices this Friday and they were amazing. You would never know that they were gluten-free.) I've also enjoyed their iced coffee. Seriously everything has been so good! The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. There are two seating areas - upstairs and downstairs - and it's a great place to enjoy a quiet morning coffee . I am so pleased to have found this little gem!! read more

The upsides: Friendly staff, pleasant environment, tasty baked goods, good coffee. The downsides: Their hours suck; mornings only (well, until 1pm) closed Monday and Tuesday Credit card fees: on top of boutique pricing (understandable given the upsides above) they charge a 4% fee for using credit cards. I know a lot of places do this but it's a short-sighted practice. I live in the area and drive by a couple times a day but rarely stop in because I don't generally carry cash. As it stands I probably go twice a year. I'd probably go twice a week if they didn't do the CC fee. read more

We visited Hillside Coffee today, and it was just as special as we remembered it to be. Rose greeted us with her lovely smile. The hot chocolate had a rich flavor which complemented the scrumptious egg cheese croissant, which is a complete meal in itself. We couldn't leave without purchasing a pastry to enjoy later. We purchased pies for Thanksgiving. It's Thanksgiving evening and I've eaten almost half of the best apple pie ever! The apples are firm and not sickeningly sweet...actually taste like apples. I wanted to love this place as I'm looking for a go to coffee place in the area. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was not good. It had a really weird aftertaste to it. I am not sure why, it could've been the syrup itself. I think it was more likely the amount of syrup she put in the drink. I have never seen someone put even half as much syrup in a flavored latte. I poured it out when I got home. I couldn't finish drinking it. They had a nice atmosphere, friendly workers, and lots of pastries to choose from. Perhaps if you were just going for plain coffee and pastry this would be good but for flavor/specialty coffee this was just not it. I would not go back. read more
