MEIJER's internal labor costs didn't go up, they are notoriously cheap with their employees. Certainly clean and new and the associates are still getting familiar with their role, etc. they have a very nice bakery that offers great bread options. I'm writing this for my bro because he is still pissed at what had happened. My little bro and his friend had stopped in to buy some a certain set of pokemon cards at the store when they were approached in the isle by two of the lady associates who were working at the time accusing my brother and his friend of ringing there service phones to get people to a certain department. The workers never specified what was supposedly said over the coms to my brother but we're still accusing them of doing so. After that they had started to follow them around the store and the store manager walked up to them and had asked them to leave which they did comply but the store manager Rory got into my brothers face trying to intimidate my brother and told him if he and his friend ever come back they would be arrested. So as a big brother I don't play with people who threaten my brother if he didn't do anything especially when my brother tells them to check cameras and the store manager Rory said to my brother that " we aren't going to deal with this today." So I called the customer service desk and talk with whoever the nice desk lady was I don't remember the name of her unfortunately but I am going to shot her out because of how respectful she was. She transferred me over to Rory the store manager and he said to me that he is not going to speak with me. I asked why and said sir have a nice day. i went off on him saying he is a lozy motherfucker, and fuck you and hung up. I think It's bullshit me and him couldn't have talked one on one without him just completely ignoring me because he doesn't want to deal with a problem he started. If your headed to Meijer, I highly recommend going to the Oxford Meijer deli! My family loves a good soup and sandwich night. So when I want fresh meat and cheese, Meijer deli is our spot. Vicki at the Oxford deli is referred to as the "deli mama". She always knows just what to pick and ALWAYS had a laugh/smile to her face. TLDR: Plan to spend most of your time in line. Meijer used to be awesome. Now, you can taste, or smell, the mismanagement and corporate greed. Produce: Take the lowly avocado as an example. You will find that you can buy either avocados that are hard as a rock, or mush. Nothing in between. And that is how it is for all produce for this store. You will find rotting fruits amongst the not-yet-ripe ones. No one cleans these out. So be prepared for a ... surprise when you grab hold of one. Meats: Limited. That's all I've got. Booze: Plenty. Not well organized, but, if you need to get over-served, this is the place to go. The rest: The store has its staple items. If you need an air filter for your furnace in the dead of winter, you can find one here. However, if you need a snow shovel in January, you'll be out of luck because they have already moved in the Spring items, and apparently snow only falls around about Christmas and is gone by New Years. The wait: OMG, the wait. The store is actively training customers to check themselves out. They have two different environments to test your patience. What makes it more comical, is when the self-training check-outs are completely flooded, store management only opens one or two human staffed lanes. You'd think that these human-staffed lanes would be staffed by the cream of Meijer's crop of associates, but that's not the case. Prepare to wait for the most under-motivated staff, to sloth their way through bagging your purchases. Took it back to Meijer, after 30 minutes and a call to Bed Bath And Beyond saying it wasn't activated. Tammi, was returning my $50. She needed to know how I paid. I used a Meijer gift card. Found out a gift card will not purchase a gift card. Tammi was so nice, pleasant, and helpful. read more

The Oxford Meijer is very friendly... and well, its a Meijer... so it has to be amazing. While they carry a large selection of goods (more so than any other Meijer I have been to), the fresh veggies and herbs is lacking. :( On numerous times I have been there only to find I have to rearrange my meal plans because they did not have what I needed. What sad days! On the other hand, EVERYONE who works here is super nice and friendly... which is very surprising for any other Meijer that I have been too! read more

I love this location! It seems so much more organized and overall better than the one in Auburn Hills. It's an updated Meijer compared to a lot of others in the area. What more could you ask for in a huge department store/grocery store?!?! This place has it all, from fresh apples, to wine, to meat, to bikes, to clothing, to power tools. It is essentially like any super Target or Kmart or whatever other store is like that. The store is usually clean, and there aren't usually long lines due to the huge number of check out stations. They have a wide alcohol selection, which I like. They also have a HUGE parking lot, so there is no way that you can't find a spot. Too bad they don't have Meijer in NYC...i miss it! read more

This store is the least efficient shopping experience you can have. The checkout is understaffed 100% of the time. The cashiers are forced to check ID's of 75 year olds. Great prices! Compared to other food stores, the best deals are offered at Meijer. Staff always willing to help out any time needed. The staff is always friendly. Produce and vegetables are always fresh with a fantastic variety. This location is the main store that I go for grocery shopping. The waiting to ring up the orders is not bad depending how busy it is. It's not any different than other grocery store.People have the option to scan and pay at self serve. There are people who can gladly help if you have a question on self serving when checking out. The only reason I gave this location a four star is that not all the shelves are stocked. A return visit is needed at times to complete grocery shopping. For instance,I could not find my favorite coffee during two visits. I consulted one gentleman who looked at the inventory that there were 23 in stock. Without hesitation, he went to check in the back and there were none. So the inventory was not accurate. I really wanted to like this pharmacy since it is so close to my house. I have tried over and over, but there is some issue every time I go there. Every.single.time! When you have a toddler, it is not convenient to have to come back to the pharmacy because they gave you the wrong thing or only had enough to partially fill the prescription. Half the time the drive through isn't working, so it's hauling a one year old into the store to wait in line for a half hour. What a mess! Oxford Meijer...remember the days when you were "next in line" at Meijer? They are long gone. The little chain that put the customer first seems to have gotten a little too big to remember where they came from. If you want to shop there in the Summer when they carry camping supplies that should work out great, you'll need them when you get to the check out. Sure the employees all smile and greet you, they as a rule will try and help you with any problems you may have. A smile costs Meijer nothing and some occasional help just a little more. Just don't expect them to do what it takes to service the customer if it's more than that. If you like to stand in checkout out lines at least 5 to 6 deep with only 3 full service check outs open and all the self serve open this is the store for you. Budget at least 20 to 30 minutes of your time standing in line. Guess they figure once you have it in the basket you won't leave. Since they can't seem to retain enough staff to keep more check outs open the customer pays the price. Don't look for a manager to jump in and open a register it's not going to happen. Until Meijer can staff the store at the level it needs to be at I'm done with them. There is a Kroger to the south and Aldi, Walmart to the north and as much as I dislike Walmart I'll shop there before Meijer, I will be giving my money to out of state chains but that's what happens when the homegrown Meijer boys forget the history of the company. Don't bother contacting corporate they just send back a stock reply. I put one sentence in my email to them that would require them to read it, it wasn't. They do not even deserve a star seriously I went in one day because my normal pharmacy was closed and you can not choose when you child is sick. I went in and took RX to counter and they said 2 hour wait !! I was floored. My normal pharmacy only takes 10 mins normally. But I had to wait. My daughter needed. So we had to sit there for 2 hours. Then after 2 hours of sitting there it still was not ready. They did fill it right then. Just unbelievable since they had 8 people working and where I normally go only usually has 3. A very nice "super store" in the Meijer chain ! Clean, well stocked, good selections and wonderful staff. However ..they have a flawed policy at the self check out lines. Your check out lane is "not yours" .. another customer can use your lane before you finish bagging ! .. They have this bar that swings across to seperate your order from thiers. Now the ugliness starts .. the rudeness of the next customer and the courtesy staff "dump on you" as they try to get bags and work over the top of your bagging acivity ! There is only one way to stop it ... This is not a good Meijer. The registers are ALWAYS broken and the system is always down during busy times. The lines are always extremely long as a result. The bottle returns don't work well, they can't scan the barcodes and always get jammed and freeze up. The store is messy, the shelves aren't stocked, and I have accidentally purchased expired food here on MULTIPLE occasions. I always check the dates when I shop here now. The employees are usually ok, but today, I had not one but three encounters with rude and less than helpful employees. I will be shopping elsewhere from now on, the convenient location is not worth the headache of long lines, rude cashiers, and malfunctioning store equipment. read more
