The older lady cashier was extremely mean to them claiming "cash would be better" than the quarters they had. As my grandmother was looking for cash to pay, My kids [9 and 6] whispered to each other, "isn't she being kinda mean to grandma?" the cashier snapped at them asking if they were talking about her and then went on to apologize claiming she hadn't had her coffee today. Beyond unprofessional and just plain old rude. Sticking to our 24 mile location from here on out.

While shopping I observed why the store is so messy. As I was walking…read more around I noticed customers throwing clothes on the floor, on top racks and never putting them back where they got them and parents letting their children run wild in the store and destroying and opening the merchandise. Also seen other patrons walking around with a cart full of merchandise and discarding what they do not want any old place . I am sure the employees work very hard to clean and keep the store as tidy as possible and the store should not be judged by who works there but how rude some customers are.

I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

I was happy to purchase a beautiful Yellow Forsythia Artificial Wreath for My Front Double Doors and 2 sets of colored Tulips for an artificial floral arrangement at this Ollie's Bargain Outlet. I also purchased Serta Soft Cool and Warm material Bed sheets throughout my browsing and price checking with comparison. Yes, this location maybe disorganized at times or messy areas of towels or other sale items but shoppers can be the reason because every time I shop here for a sale item or check on an ad item, the staff here are working the best they can and hard at times unpacking boxes to stocking shelves. I've been greeted with a Hello at times which is courtesy of them in between their busy work schedule. If busy at check out and a long line begins, another pleasant employee will open up another register. I needed to find 10 that I could donate. I remember back in the beginning of my yoga practice, gosh nearly 10 years ago now, that many people purchased beginner yoga mats at $5 Below. When I became a teacher, I too told students that you could purchase mats at this store and that they were super affordable. All these years later they still carry yoga mats and they are still only $5! And in all honesty- they are even better! I stopped into this location and was happy to find 10 mats. They actually had a ton of them. They had them in 5 different patterns too, how cool. The dimensions of the yoga mats are standard size, 24inx68inx.24in. That's a great thickness for a yoga mat, enough cushion and support without being too bulky. This store was super clean and organized, the stock and shelves were full and neatly faced. The 2 female employees were super friendly and welcoming. The cashier asked if I was yoga teacher and why I was buying so many mats. I told her I'm donating them to Detroit schools to bring yoga to our youth. She shared with me that she too went to Detroit schools, in her youth. She thanked me for what I was doing. I couldn't help but smile, heart happy. Highly recommend this $5 Below. Great place for inexpensive gifts, especially for kids birthday gifts. Tons of books and activity books for kids and adults.
