I have waited for a while since the store opening to write this review. I really figured the situation had to get better. Overall Price Rating:3 out of 10 (10 best) Well, once in while their prices are competitive when they have a sale, but don't assume its a good price just because its on sale. I'm surprised that their sale prices are often so high I would consider them high for everyday pricing. Any item with anything close to good pricing is out of stock. I have been overcharged for something on nearly 50% of my visits, so much that I started taking pictures of the sale stickers so that I don't have to wait for price checks. Stock on Hand Rating: 1 out of 10 I have given this location multiple tries to have stock on hand and they continue to fail. One of their best sales involves 10 items for $10 and get an 11th free. Many if the items normally sell for $1 or less, and I have always had to find alternates to my planned selections, so in the end its not such a great deal after all. The final straw was today when I tried to take advantage of their advertised 'best 10 for 10 offer ever' and they were out of stock on my desired product. Figured, not such a big deal since the price was good enough to wait in line and get a rain check. So on to my last rating... Customer Service Rating: 2 out of 10 After waiting in a line of 1 for nearly 10 minutes (no urgency on their part) I was informed that they do not offer rain checks on sale items. Wonder why I would need a rain check for a regular price item? Maybe you get special notice before they run out of stock again? This wasn't my first time in the customer service line, and none of them were particularly quick or loyalty building. The only thing that prevents me giving a score of "0" is the pharmacy. They made good on the promised loyalty bonus offer for filling prescriptions when the computer failed to register purchases, and they were very customer oriented in the way they followed up with a phone call. After all the hoopla surrounding their opening I had to check them out for myself. I was not impressed. Their grocery selection is okay. Better than Wal-Mart but nowhere near regular grocery stores and pales in comparison to Woodmans. Prices were less than stellar even with all the sales. I'll stick with Woodmans. This store is awful. The employees are rude and unhelpful. The photo department is terrible. No one is ever at the photo desk and they don't answer the phone. Your pictures will not be ready when promised, even if the printer isn't broken. The service desk is also stocked with rude employees. When I walked up to the counter they were on their phones and didn't even notice me until I said something. This store was good when it first opened but has really gone downhill. You will walk out frustrated. Shop somewhere else. read more

Finally checked out Meijer and had high hopes, alas, not all that impressed. Customer service wasn't good. At the deli counter, I felt like I was interrupting but what work was being done wasn't clear. Checking out was painfully slow. Produce section definitely needs some better management. Worst supermarket ever. Stood in line for 20 minutes. Michael N opened line number 16 and took the people behind us instead of the next person in line. In the produce section there were empty boxes of tomatoes, peaches and plums. Only good if you want to buy fish. I went to gave a cigarette, came back, wrote this review, still checking out. The design of the store is very poor especially at checkout. We waited in line for about a half hour at the self checkout area and that area was extremely congested and hectic as it was super busy. I don't know if it's because of the newness of the store it was so busy or what but either someone was running into you or you into them at every turn. We'll give it more try at some point. read more

I usually shop at the Meijer in Sussex but wasn't going to have time to get there and back before work. I always use the pick up service because it is great. Decided to go to the store on Burleigh and made my on line order. Web site said my order was ready for pick up so off I went. My slot was 11-12. Got there, called the number on the sign and was told they'd be right out. 15 min and no one shows. 30 minutes and my husband went in to see what the hold up was and was told they'd be right out. Finally somebody that doesn't work in that area brought our groceries out. Apparently the person who handles this went to lunch knowing there was an order to be picked up. Will never shop there again. The store is dirty and I've found many outdated items and packaged meat that has turned green. We will continue making the trip to Sussex for good service and fresh food items. Since we had such bad service the lady who brought us our order gave us a $25 gift card which I will redeem in Sussex. read more

Well, once again my trip to Meijer was disappointing. Went in on Sunday night, store was a mess and the shelves were not stocked. Everything I went there for was out. Asked an employee in produce for help, but he was to busy talking to some girl for 5 minutes. Not very productive at all. When I left the store, the 2 people in produce were still shooting the ----!. Horrible Customer service - they stand around talking and could care less that you are waiting to get something in the Deli - on Sunday I asked to purchase a 1/2 pound of hot ham and I was told that I would only get 1 pound are you kidding me. You can stop in the morning for donuts and there is nothing there at 6AM - if you are a 24 hour store you should have donuts by 6AM - I stopped later one morning and she was bring out the donuts and there were some in the case and I said I am going to take some of these - she gave me the nastiest look - said nothing - I took the donut and said "Good Morning to you too!" RUDE RUDE PEOPLE! I have tried this store 5 times at least and every time you look for someone they are standing in groups talking and laugh and god forbid you ask a question - because you have interrupted there conversation! I have been shopping there a few times. I like the prices. It's convient to me and the people are helpful there.

I have been a frequent shopper of this location since it opened last year. I have a slight preference to the Oak Creek location due to the larger size and selection, but this one offers enough and is on my way home from work. There was a period in here, a couple months back, where they were having some issues with stocking and making sure the store was looking good. Shelves were barren and the experience wasn't as good as when it opened. However, in the last month or two, it has improved dramatically again (interestingly enough since they changed from 24 hours to 6a-11p). The store typically looks good. The employees are friendly and helpful. If things get rung up incorrectly, I let the cashier or customer service desk know and they promptly fix the situation. Shelves are no longer barren, and the experience has been a very good one. By the way, if you aren't a member of mPerks, you need to be. I have gotten back nearly $100 from the program this past year in money to use for groceries, as well as countless other savings. The bonus here is you can load all the digital coupons and rewards on your computer at home, and you don't need your smart phone with you to get them as all coupons are connected to your phone number (though you can scan items with your smart phone at the store to see if there is a coupon for it). While it isn't perfect, thus 4 out of 5 stars, this store gets a brunt of my grocery shopping due to the great sales they have consistently (though, like any grocery, watch the prices if the item isn't on sale), and the customer service is always a better experience than most. read more

Bad experience at this store. They advertise items for their Black Friday all week specials. When I arrived at the store they had none of the items and per the manager they ran out which was a lie because the two sales person for the entire store couldn't even locate the items. The store is big and bright and laid out like a Wal-Mart. But it is nicer than Wal-Mart especially the deli. The bakery could use some improvement. The baked goods do not look like they were made there. The prices are pretty good but I wonder if they will go up once they get past their grand opening phase. I don't like the self check-outs. I loved going to this Mejier and it was our go to for all grocery and household needs, but lately it has gone way downhill. The location its 5 minutes from our house, but we will drive to Greenfield or Sussex to go to those locations. Problems with this location is 1. They never have fully stocked shelves and often do not have what we need such as MILK. 2. Overall cleanliness of the store has gotten continually worse as time goes on. 3. Patrick, usually works the self serve checkout is one of the creepiest and impersonal employees I have seen. He always looks im yourcart and comments om ehat you have bought and does not treat you like a valued customer. He knows both myself and my wife by name since we frequent Meijer often, and he had not allowed my wife to use the mejier card because my name is on the card even though he knows us. He has carded me numerous times for alcohol and knows i am 46 YEARS OLD but the one time I do not have my ID he refused an alcohol sale even though he admitted he knows i am over 40. Allow me to educate everyone who works in a retail environment. And, I mean everyone! I do not care if you are white, black, yellow, purple, young, old, educated, stupid, tattooed, a virgin or have horns growing out of your head. The number one measure of your success is SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. And, I would wager a million dollars that your boss follows this business doctrine, as well. People will forget what you say and what you look like, but they will remember how you made them feel. This, alone, is critical to whether or not you have gained a customer for life! Now, to Meijer specifically. Yes, I was excited to visit the new store in Wauwatosa! First impression was this is a clean store, friendly staff and some dynamite prices. Every trip (probably 20) since then, the experience has become increasingly disappointing. Customer service is an oxymoron at this store! Don't fret, Meijer, there seems to be an epidemic of this throughout the USA! Shortly after the store opened, and my second or third visit, I passed by three young ladies complaining about management. They were just standing around in the clothing section like there was nothing to do in a gigantic store. Fast forward... on Monday, winter finally arrived in our great state. Unlike some who could hibernate, I was not sent home early from my outside sales job and I had to pick up my husband from work at seven. I thought that the Meijer deli sounded like a splendid idea for dinner! Also, I need some lunch meat. I did not need to obtain a number, as I walked up to the counter right after three men. There were not any other customers. Three young black ladies walked up to assist the racially diverse males. I stood by the lunch meat watching the workers. Two of the gals even made eye contact with me and SIMPLY DID NOTHING TO ASSIST ME. I paused for a minute, then walked away. I bought NOTHING that night and never will again. This was the tipping point, after so many other similar scenarios where workers walked away from me. I find it sad because the store has potential to be great. But, the workers are not there to service customers, so Meijer will never be great. I wonder why they're even working ..hmmm read more

I thought I'd try Meijer's again after the grand opening madness was done. When I wrote my initial, negative review about the crooked price scanners, a shill for the company wrote a placating response. It's three months later and I thought I'd try Meijer's again. Same problem. I can't put items on the belt while constantly watching the price being scanned. I reviewed my receipt before leaving the store and saw an error. Meijer's scanners seem to make a lot of errors. Why are they always in the store's favor? For sure, I won't be returning. read more

I wonder what I have to do to get a meijer credit card. I have a perfect 999 credit rating and a $50,000 limit on my regular master card. I make $1 mil a year and cannot get a card. I was told there was nothing they could do for me. I am very impressed with this new store. I was greeted politely, US Bank (located in Meijers) has a special deal for Veterans and everything is neat and tidy. I intend to do most of my shopping at Meijers. we are lucky to have this store in our area. When i called the service desk they couldn't be more helpful. read more

I only shop here because I use the discount coupons the pharmacy gives out for my prescriptions. The meat and produce are competitively priced and they appear to have decent sales going on. However don't shop here for anything that is not on a current sale as the prices are definitely higher than Woodmans and Walmart. The prices are higher than Kohls for non grocery items! read more

I would give it a -1 if it was an option. This store makes the worst Walmart look great. I visited for the third time today and will never go back to the Tosa store..ever. Every time I am there it takes 30 min to check out even at the self check outs. The shelf check outs always have problems.Watched a woman scan everything but the seven cases of bottled water in her cart.. and the employee helped her and did not notice she did not scan the water.. stupid. Dont know who is worse the employees or the customers The EBT customers take priority over those who load their cards, and when their card get turned down they pull out more EBT cards and say put this much on this one and this much on that. Then their credit card gets turned down for the non EBT stuff and they dig through the purse looking for one that works .Always the same problems at this store. Uhh horrid customer service, employees walking around on their cell phones. Yeah I know they get paid crap from this company but jeez, who is the DF that is the store manager.. he or she should be fired. I will pay more for better service and a cleaner store with employees who get paid enough to care.. uhh have you studied COSTCO. This company is just a rip off of Walmart but a bad one. read more
