Max handling live removal of honey bees from our fence.
    Melissa M.

Max is an awesome bee keeper/bee removal service! He has come to remove feral bees from our property twice. He is very personable, and does his best to save as many bees as he can. We also learned a lot about bees from chatting with him. It was a great educational experience for my son. It was also really neat to see the live removal process in action! Both times we needed his assistance, Max has been very reliable and responsive. I would absolutely recommend this company to all my friends and family! It feels good to try to save and relocate bees instead of killing them. More bees, more honey, more pollination for all our produce!

As I am eating breakfast, I look outside to see a swarm. I first thought they were locus, but quickly realized it was a lot of bees. Got Max's number from my local police station and he was at my house in less than 30 mins on Memorial Day. Max stated it was the largest swarm he had seen this year. Ahhhh!!!! Max took his time and did the job right. Along the way imparted tons of bee knowledge. Thank you Max!

We had a bee swarm on a gardenia bush, and Max came out within 15 minutes to help. He was extremely knowledgeable about bees. He removed the bees and plans to raise them at his house. He showed the neighborhood the queen bee and taught us the importance of bees. Super friendly and helpful! Bees were gone from the bush within minutes!! You should definitely call Max for safe and fast removal of bees.

A bee swarm suddenly appeared in our backyard last evening. With a 2 year old who loves to play outside, it was important we got rid of the bees ASAP. We emailed Max this morning, got an email response in moments, a phone call in less than 10 minutes, and he was on-site in less than an hour. He was personable, very knowledgeable, and clearly loves those bees. It was nice knowing they were not going to be destroyed, but instead were headed to one of Max's personal hives. Bees are so important to our planet. Thanks, Max!

The bees swarming on our front lawn was scary, but the situation gave us the opportunity to discover Max.

Peter's a beekeeper too. Issue: I came home to several bees interested in my electrical meter. We didn't have a cover over it cause HECO gave us a larger meter and told us to cut a bigger hole in our wood cover (like I own a hacksaw!) . It was the first time I've seen live bees in our neighborhood unless they're dying... so I was a little freaked that maybe they'd gotten into the electrical stuff or wall. Peter came down after I texted him some photos of the situation. He opened the panel - thankfully, NO hive (I was relieved). But Peter said they were scout bees looking for a new home for their Queen to nest (apparently a Queen can lay 2K-3K eggs in ONE day alone and it can get crowded) Peter said they'd be back -likely within a day- with a swarm because they move fast. This was good to know! So he plugged all the entry points up. He recut our old cover to fit over the meter and caulked all entry points. He also let me know I could make a natural mixture to deter them from returning! Like many reviews here, learning this bee info from Peter was fascinating. I was asking a lot of questions. Before he left, he gave me a honeycomb he got from his last job. Eating honey from a backyard honeycomb was lightly sweet and incredibly delicious. SAVE THE BEES, Do not kill them- relocate them instead. =D Highly recommend

I got a referral from a beekeeping group on Facebook to Honey Bee Rescue. Peter came over within a short time and did a very thorough examination of the premises while providing me with information on bees and their behavior. I wasn't expecting to learn so much! He was so friendly and really calmed the nerves of this freaked out person. Unfortunately, the Queen is not in the "bee box" he set up so it looks like it there are more bee battles that have to be done. Again, the upcoming process was explained in detail so I feel reassured about what is yet to come. Thank you Peter!

One thing that I do love about Kailua is they're so crafty home to many biz and this Kailua Honey that we stumbled upon that we couldn't resist and who don't love honey. You know their serious about it as soon as you step into the shop though the honey is the star of the shop but you'll find anything that has to do with it as well like beeswax candle, and various merchandise. Oh honey and with flavors from Lilikoi, Pineapple, Guava, Coconut and even Hot Hawaiian infused flavors and more to choose from but what got our attention is the small refrigerator in the back that hold something that I've never seen before "Creamed Honey" a product that we fell in love with the light and delicate flavor of coconut I can see that will go well with so many of our favorite treats. It does need to be kept chilled so on this day wouldn't work since I didn't bring a cooler with me sadly but will be back for sure. A must visit spot in Kailua where you can support small and local biz that makes your life even sweeter. Thank you!

2 stars because honey was pretty standard, their care for bees are important…read more Contacted the company towards the end of July for a small bulk order for wedding favors (event was mid Sept) and custom labels. Got the order confirmed and I wanted to pick it up in Sept at the Sunday market at castle. At the end of August, I was told my order was being fulfilled (about 4 days before my pick up date). Comes to the pick up date, and the people working the booth told me that didn't have my order. They called the office. Then I was told that my order was supposed to be picked up the day before (at a Saturday market). I told them what my emails said which was confirmed to be picked up on that Sunday. The workers mentioned that the office prob got my emails late and thought k was picking it up on a Saturday. I told them no because the emails are from weeks ago and the office confirmed it early and confirmed a few days ago that they were filling my order. They call the office again. Then tells me that they have my order at the booth but no labels. Confusing because if my order "was supposed to be picked up the day before" why isn't there labels on the jars and why didn't the workers tell me when I got there that my order wasn't there? If and big if (benefit of the doubt) my order was forgotten about, I would've felt better by having them tell me "I messed up and didn't have your order ready, I'm sorry" versus giving me odd reasons that don't add up. They told me that they could drop the labels off to me or mail it. I opted to have it mailed since there is still days before my wedding (a wee less than two weeks which is more than enough for mail to get delivered to an address on the same island). And since a few days ago, we still didn't receive our labels so we have to pivot and figure out our own labels for our favors. Out of my order, one jar was cracked and leaking, and two other jars weren't closed properly and had ants in the honey, the two boxes that the jars were in had dead ants in the box. Grateful that the market workers gave me a few extra jars because if they didn't, I would've been short. I had to clean each jar extra good and not reuse the original box due to honey leakage and dead ants. Communication and execution could've been better. Grateful for what they do for the bees though.
