All the fruits are really delicious. Our only regret is not finding this place earlier in our vacation so we can make multiple trips for fresh fruits. If you do go, text or call ahead of time so you can get GPS to parking area and the gate code or you won't be able to get in.

As we were slowly rolling in just trying to understand where to park, we got greeted by a man - well, he popped out of nowhere and pointed at the area where we can park. No smile, no hi, no nothing. Okay. We get out of the car, there is some walkable nursery territory where they sell plants and you can overlook the nearby hills, it's pretty. The fruit stand is small. When I asked about whether they had the pineapple I was looking for, just got "no." as a response. I was like okay, no biggie, what would you recommend to try then? The mix plate. It was pretty mush the only thing the guy had in their fridge, a $10 assortment plate. We paid cash, the guy pointed where we could sit, and evaporated. The plate was okay, however I wish there was some sort of indication of which fruit is which; and the guy who met us with such a cold vibe didn't show any desire to spend a second with us to explain anything, I mean he didn't even ask "how are you". I guessed maybe 5 fruits out of 13 that the plate had, the rest were mystery, some I liked and some I didn't. We left with a pretty bad aftertaste from this experience.

I ordered vanilla beans and a vanilla kit at the end of November. A day later I wanted to order a few more kits, so contacted LVC and owner, Saili, let me know that I could pay for them and they would include them in the original order. I received a notification that my original order was mailed out (the first order was the only one noted). I'm not sure why, but the postal person did not deliver them (it was storming on delivery day, unsure if he felt it was too wet to leave for me). I received a notification that it was returned to the post office and I immediately rescheduled delivery. It was labeled as such on the tracking that it was supposed to be redelivered. The redelivery date came and went. Since I was using these for Christmas gifts, I reached out to LVC just to make sure both of my orders were included in the same box since the tracking info only listed the first order products. I thought that maybe if not everything was in there, I could have LVC mail the second order in an effort to get some gifts on time. Saili let me know everything was in the box. Saili also tried to call the post office but they did not answer (thank you Saili for trying!). Just before Christmas I got an email that my delivery was received. I was so excited thinking my box was dropped off. To my surprise, the box was delivered back to LVC! I contacted Saili and asked what my options were. Unfortunately the holidays are so busy I could not make it out to Laie to pick up and that's when the most unexpected thing happened. Saili offered to drop it off at my house. You get to spend the…read moreafternoon with the owner as he walks you through the process of growing, hand pollinating and processing the beans. He really great guy, loved hearing his stories. I learned so many things, and found it all very interesting! The farm itself is beautiful and enjoyable to walk through and take pictures. The plants grow in shade so it's shady but it is a bit humid but not uncomfortable. At the end of the tour we were given cutting to grow our own vanilla bean vine, and were taught how to care for the plant. Honestly, a great way to spend your afternoon!! Grabbed a vanilla extract kit they sell down the road, a perfect way to remember this beautiful day!! Highly highly recommend it!!

Our daughters had a fantastic time swinging, exploring the playground (though it's for toddlers up to age five), and letting their imaginations run wild as they played pretend kitchen with natural elements. They enjoyed feeding the chickens and petting the goats. The holiday open farm day was a delightful experience, featuring delicious hot cocoa, soothing live music with singing and guitar, and a creative ornament-making station stocked with paint, stickers, tape, and bells. We wrapped up our day with a $10 basket brimming with freshly picked vegetables--eggplant, vibrant carrots, fragrant cilantro, fresh basil, and a variety of kale. This is one of the up and coming farmers markets that always has me coming back to see what's new…read more Each and every time I visit them there are new vendors or live entertainment or Something going on! My favorite things to buy here are of course the fresh produce (a given), paia'i from Hanalei and his Kahaluu lo'i, the complete meals that are $5 and up, and random knick nacks from local crafters. The produce: One vendor, Melissa (or Ala as I know her as) always hooks me up with ulu (bread fruit) or avacado, or star fruit if it's in season, for example. I always ask her to pick me out the good stuff. She of course will ask what I'm going to do with the produce so she can give me what I'm looking for. As in how ripe an avocado do I need? I am always grateful to her and her honest picks. And never am I sorry for asking! Then I usually peruse the other stalls to find what might make my recipes pop. I really like to buy local and when I do I'm always happy with the taste and freshness. This past weekend it was bananas, garlic, and a papaya form one, then some carrots and onions from another... It's actually very therapeutic and fun! If I get there early enough Hanalei usually has a bag of paia'i for me, and I can enjoy the live music he has lined up if I'm not in a rush to get home. The complete meals are super yummy. I always have to have a baked spaghetti plate! The rest of my order depends on who's with me that day or what I'm ono for on the fly. I admit I often buy enough plates to keep me and my keiki in food heaven all weekend. Such things as pastele stew with gandule rice, or shoyu chicken. My daughter loves the kalua pig and cabbage with long rice. Next weekend we are definitely going to give the Filipino food a try. And if you're in Kaneohe town on a Saturday morning before noon definitely go check it out. Parking is free and the vendors are all really friendly and helpful. There is a much larger farmer's market at the Windward Mall twice a week and another in Kailua on thursdays. The Ben Parker market is small and quiet. Mostly produce stands. So if you need low cost fresh produce this is the place to go on Saturday AM. Have you been to the Safeway Produce Dept lately? Oh Man!! Start going to the farmers market before you spend way too much money. There was a lobster tail guy there along with a couple of hot food stands. The food looked hot and freshly cooked. I didn't get to try the hot food but it looked good. Mostly, local Korean and Filipino style. None of the "name" vendors or food trucks here but like I said it looked good. "Small kine" mini Farmer's Market. Come for the produce!

You can sign up online for the tour, which includes seeing the cacao trees, and how they grow the different types of cacao, harvest it, process it, and turn it into a local chocolate for Manoa chocolate company. It's actually very fascinating, but quite a long process, which is why most chocolate companies don't make their chocolate from scratch. At the end of the tour, you have a chance to sample some of their finished Manoa chocolate products, such a treat!
