This is our first time to Hawaii and we've been looking for local eateries. After some searching, Lilikoi Kitchen seemed like a great spot for breakfast and beyond. Upon entering, we were instantly greeted. Everyone was super nice and you could feel their warmth radiating. This continued through the entire visit. Before we even knew what the food would be like, we already felt "this is it", validating our decision to eat here. Nelly (if I recall correctly), was our server and she was so kind and attentive! I ordered the LK Signature Pancake plate with macadamia nut and vegetarian breakfast sausage. My wife ordered the same plate, but with lilikoi drizzle on the pancakes and Portuguese sausage. For our side, we ordered garlic tots. WOW. The food was incredible. Tots were perfectly crispy. Pancakes were massive, moist, and fluffy with a generous slathering of cream sauce and macadamia nuts. Seriously, there was no part of the pancakes that wasn't covered. It was an incredible sight to behold and even more incredible to eat! The eggs and sausage were also cooked to perfection. Hat's off to chef Hoku! The icing on the [pan]cake was the ambiance. It had a great vibe and the decor was simple, modern, and welcoming. A takeout or dine-in local fusion spot. I really wanted to like this place as the menu had a great variety of local items. But a lot of other factors brought the score down. I wanted to dine in, so I sat down and the waitress pointed to the QR code on the table (as if to order online). So I scanned the QR code, ordered, and waited. There was only one other party dining in. After 20 minutes, I went to the counter and asked if my food was ready (online it said "ready for pickup"). The waitress said my order wasn't in the system. I told her I ordered and paid on the link and she asked for my name and said, "oh, it's here but it's to-go." She said that the QR code was wrong, it went to takeout orders, gave me the bag and said, "Oh well." I said that I wanted to dine in, she replied, "You can still eat here," but didn't offer to put my food on a plate or give me utensils (which weren't in the bag). She didn't smile or apologize and I felt awkward so I left with my food. The food was decent, I just wish the service was better. It made me feel sad and unwelcome. The food was delicious, but the "service" was abysmal. They never brought one item from our order, and another item was brought -after repeated requests- more than 1.25 hours into the meal. A meal that took nearly an hour to be delivered in the first place, which consisted of 2 sandwiches and 2 quesadillas. When we asked politely for more water, she responded, "later," which seemingly meant no be we never received any. And when we asked for forks with which to eat the salad, she rudely responded, "when I get to it." Again, the food was delicious. But I won't be going back due to the wait time, which was more than 30 minutes longer than they indicated and the rude, not just distracted (and certainly not that busy as food was coming out at a snail's pace), service. read more

Staff was incredibly friendly and showed true aloha, that's so rare to find anymore. Shows passion for what they're doing. But that avocado toast!! The best avocado toast I've ever had A lot of other avocado toasts I've had skimp on the ingredients, or leave something to be desired. But Lilikoi Kitchen's ingredients looked fresh and high quality, 2 eggs instead of 1, chili oil on top was a nice touch, had tomatoes, arugula, and mayo and the toast was very hearty... I'm sorry I really wanted to love this place. Our server was so nice and very attentive. A+ there. Ordering using the app and being able to use Apple Pay another plus! But the food ... 1. I ordered lilikoi pancakes and they brought out Mac nut, when I pointed this out the server took it in the back, the chef just put on some lilikoi syrup on and sent it right back. So I don't think the order was correct. 2. The pancakes were horrible, thick and dense and not edible :/ the portion is large, 3 big pancakes but it's so dry it's just not a good dish. 3. Tater tots, they were cold and the seasoning was way too salty/garlicy - we ate 2 and even tried one from the bottom in case the seasoning was too much on the top but to no avail 4. What a find in Kailua!! We had to drop my daughter off to handout with some friends at one of their houses in Kailua. Since we're never in the area we decided to grab lunch while we were there. Found Lilikoi Kitchen on Yelp and reviewers definitely steered us in the right direction. Lots of parking in the area and many shops around it as well. We walked in to this cute shop and noticed that there's a self kiosk to order but the lady did tell us she could take our order as well but there were a table scan that'll allow us to order from table and there's pictures. We decided to do go with that option since we wanted to see what we were ordering. She brought us waters and utensils before we even ordered and asked if we had questions. The place wasn't crazy busy but it was before the lunch rush for sure. There were people walking in to pick up orders to go. I got the turkey BLTA panini and my husband got the pastrami sandwich with a side of garlic fries. Our sandwiches came with a side salad and it was amazing and a great addition to our meal. Our youngest had an acai bowl and absolutely demolished it. Safe to say this was by far one of our favorite places we've tried in a while. Tons of free parking. The food was so good I'm surprised it was empty when we went. The presentation was gorgeous as well. They give you options on ordering, scan a QR code at the table, there's a kiosk at the counter or you can order with the cashier. The bacon avocado toast was superb. Nice lunch spot in Kailua. It's located in a small strip of shops, next to Teddy's Burgers. There's some parking right in front but can get tight. However there's more parking close by. Ordering is done by QR code/toast tab or if you want you can order at the counter. Food came out pretty fast. We had the caprese panino $18 which came with a bit of salad. We shared the panino but it can easily 1 person. It was nice and light with the fresh mozzarella, tomato, arugula with balsamic vinegar and pesto mayo. The bread was nice and crispy. Loved the fried tater tots ($8)- they were crispy without being greasy. Our friends really like the cubano panino $18. Came out nice and hot with nicely toasted bread. The ham and beef was a nice combination. If panini or sandwiches aren't your thing, the menu offers other items like salads, quesadilla, shrimp, curry plates. You can order from the cash register or QR code on the table and pay online. It took about 30-40 minutes to get our food. But everything came out hot and fresh. Anything with the name Likikoi has to be good right? Walking into this spot and the place felt nice. Decent about of tables available. You can order via QR or use the screen in front to order. Super easy. The folks working greeted us and were super nice. We ordered 3 plates of food and lilikoi mango lemonade that was good but not worth 7$. The food took 35 mins. 35!!!!!! Why?? That was a pretty terrible wait time when you're starving. Lots of carry out orders it seemed. The food once we got it was ok. Nothing to write home about. I felt the quantity of food didn't match the price. It was mid. Would I go back? Yes, but I'll not eat in. I'd order to go because I'm NOT waiting that long again. Townies (Honolulu residents) usually dislike driving over the Pali, so I asked my friend, Donna, to go with me. She's so amicable! =) Thanks, Donna! Outside, there's free, shared parking next to Jamba Juice. Inside, it's cozy and quaint! Customers can order at the counter, order via QR code at the table, or order at the kiosk. I ordered Garlic Shrimp Plate that included rice, macaroni salad, and green salad. The garlic shrimp had an unusual breading that seemed starchy or undercooked - but I ate them all becausethe shrimp (unshelled) were plump and fresh. I liked the green salad a lot! It had a tangy lilikoi dressing! I was so full from the Garlic parmesan fries (really good) that I took the rice and macaroni salad home. Donna shared the Duck Fat fried rice - very rich and tasty! I had been to this restaurant once before when they first opened, but didn't get a chance to write a review. I happened to be in the Kailua area again and decided to stop by for breakfast. They're located in a small shopping center across from the Kailua post office and next door to Teddy's Burgers & Tori Richard. Free parking is available in the shared lot, although somewhat limited. The hours on their door say they open at 9am. I waited outside for 5-10 min past 9am (in the cold windy & rainy weather), and finally they opened. Basically you order at the counter and they bring your food to you, although you can also order via kiosk, online or QR code. I was craving mac nut pancakes, so I ordered their LK Signature Pancake Plate for $18.99. It also comes with eggs & protein. I requested my eggs sunny and asked if they had Portuguese sausage. The employee at the counter said yes, so I ordered that as my protein. When the employee brought my food to me, I noticed that the sausage was a breakfast sausage patty and not Portuguese sausage. When I pointed that out to her, she said, "no, this is Portuguese sausage". I took a bite and it was definitely not Portuguese sausage. Regarding the pancakes, it was a generous portion but they were too doughy and dense, as opposed to fluffy and light. The mac nut sauce was good though. read more

The worst part about this place, however, are the chairs! It is clearly meant to be a "crowd control" piece--as it doesn't allow for comfort. However, I want to update it because the owner personally reached out to me after reading my review, and I was genuinely impressed by how she handled the situation. While my original concerns were very real, the way they were addressed made all the difference. She called me, listened to my concerns, and never once made me feel dismissed. She was kind, understanding, and took the time to hear me out. While my original experience was frustrating, the owner showed a true level of aloha, professionalism, and customer care that completely changed my impression. When I mentioned that my favorite item on the menu was the was the Blueberry French Toast, she generously offered to treat me to one on my next visit, which was incredibly thoughtful but, more importantly, made me feel heard and valued as a customer. Mistakes and bad interactions can happen anywhere. What matters is how a business responds, and I truly appreciate the effort the owner made to address my concerns and make things right. Her kindness, accountability, and genuine willingness to listen meant a lot. Because of the way this was handled, I will absolutely be giving them another chance. I stopped by here yesterday afternoon with my father for lunch. We had been on Kailua Beach that morning and when it was time for lunch I fired up Yelp. After looking through a couple of places I ultimately found Lilikoi Kitchen. This restaurant sits in a strip mall in Kailua and the inside can seat around 30 people. At the back of the restaurant is where you order and they have a touchscreen where you can do it without interacting with anyone. For lunch on this day I ultimately went with the Lilikoi chicken farm salad while my dad went with the LK's fish sandwich. The menu described my meal as mixed greens, tomato, cucumbers, shaved carrots, house torn croutons, lilikoi vinaigrette, and griddled chicken, and my dad's as sriracha aioli, pickled cucumber, American cheese, spring mix, and a brioche roll. While I normally don't order a salad out, I am glad that I did here. My chicken ended up being cooked nicely and I liked the flavor of the spices on it. All of the vegetables felt fresh and I appreciated having something healthy and green, which I often find difficult to get in Hawaii. The croutons added a nice texture to the salad and I absolutely loved the dressing. It was creamy with a good lilikoi flavor without being overly punchy or sweet. If I had one complaint it would be that I wish my salad had been dressed with more of it. My father also enjoyed his fish sandwich and liked the greens that came on his plate as well. Lilikoi Kitchen is definitely a popular spot, but we got lucky and were able to grab a table right away on a Wednesday morning. The food and service were both excellent. We ordered the Bacon Avocado Toast, Turkey BLTA Panini, and the Luxe Breakfast Burrito, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. If you have a big appetite, I highly recommend the Luxe Breakfast Burrito. It's huge--I couldn't even finish it! The Bacon Avocado Toast was also much larger than expected and definitely required a knife and fork to eat. Both dishes came with tater tots that were perfectly crispy without being greasy, which was a nice bonus. The Turkey BLTA Panini was also delicious, with great flavor and a satisfying crunch from the toasted bread. Overall, we had a great breakfast experience. Love love love Lilikoi Kitchen, from day one at their previous location too. The food, just keeps getting better and better! At this location on Kailua Road, there's much more seating available inside, with both bench and chair seating. It's self-ordering, in that you walk up to the front counter to place your order, get a ticket number and the server brings it out to you. Or you can sit at a table, use the QR code to order, and they'll bring the food out to you as well. If you're having difficulty with either, a server would also gladly help answer any questions or ring you up on their end. Just have a little patience as it seems there's only 1-2 people out front with the remainder staff members cranking out the food in the back. Comfort food at its finest. The garlic shrimp plate that I ordered was very filling with creamy, buttery, garlic shrimp on top a bed of rice, next to a big serving of mac salad with a side salad topped with their signature lilikoi dressing. A little messy when peeling off the shrimp shells, but the trick is to use one hand to do that, and your fork as a tool with the other, so that you're not getting both of your hands dirty, unless you like that kind of thing, then go for it! All in all, there's parking located directly in front of their shop, but also along the side by Down to Earth if you don't mind walking a little further. You can order at the counter, via QR code at your table (Toast app) or via a touch screen. We ordered the wagyu pastrami melt and the shrimp curry. Both were enormous! The sandwich came in two giant halves paired with half a plate of mixed greens drizzled with a lilikoi dressing so good I could drink it. The shrimp curry plate came with lots of shrimp, rice and a very well-made mac salad. As someone who can eat a lot, I'm always a bit surprised when I need a box to take food home. Of course, the most important aspect of a restaurant is how good the food is. Both dishes were made with care and tasted great. Service was friendly as well. Only downside is there's no restroom in the restaurant (my hands were not the most pristine after that delicious pastrami melt). Six of us needed a spot to have lunch after Bud's last game of the season. Serendipitous find a few doors down from Kailua Starbucks. We saved two tables and just the right timing two tables against the wall opened up so I asked a worker if she could clear it for us. She said it'll take 10 minutes cuz we are slammed. Thankfully the tables were cleared in time for everyone to arrive. One nice lady put her bag on the table so hubs wouldn't have to watch both. My college Wakabakai sister and I spotted each other as she and her daughter were leaving. Great fast hello. The two servers were fast, courteous and as there is a QR code to order on the table the kiddies' mom took our orders, sent it in and paid for Fathers Day lunch. The portions were more than generous. The salads were HUGE, fresh and enjoyed. The kids shared a quesadilla and order of fries. Hubs had a sandwich, I had big time LARGE garlic shrimp over a bed of rice with Mac salad and a colorful salad. The mango lemonade was tall and lasted me to the next game in Manoa. Restaurant seems kind of small but is big on service, food and good flavors. In Kailua? Give them a try. You won't regret it. I like that we were checked on. The food choices and flavor are amazing!! This place is located in the Kailua shopping area, near SoHa living. They have free parking right in front and I highly recommend reservations during weekday lunch times. Portion sizes are big and I believe they are meant for sharing. We got the Chinese chicken salad, loco moco fried rice, and shrimp curry. The salad and loco moco were great! The curry was spicy. The downside to the curry is that there was very little soup. I've mostly gone for breakfast, and love the breakfast burrito....but again, everything is good. I've heard their lunch items are super good as well. It seems a bit pricey, but once you see the portions, it's completely justified in my opinion. The portions are very generous! Their Lilikoi lemonade/tea mix is also yummy. 4 stars instead of 5, because it feels confusing if you're supposed to wait to be seated, or if you just pick a table and seat yourself?...and if you're supposed to order at the counter first? She said she would let the kitchen know, i also asked her how to place the order on line with that notation... her reply was "just order it and I'll tell them". Received fully drenched in syrup, her reply was I told them... she asked me if I wanted them to remake it but it will take a while because they are busy ... I told her that I didn't want to eat all that sugar and her reply was that there's not much sugar... attitude not great, never will return here again for $20 waffles.
