Found this business trough Groupon. I needed a dye and cut BADLY. Melina's salon is located in Phenix Salon Suites. There are about 150 salons located in this building which provide a mixture of hair and other services like makeup application or skin care. Melina's suite is just right for two people to be in. There's a chair in the room in case someone comes with you, but I definitely wouldn't bring anyone else because the suite is that small, but very cutely decorated. Melina started on my hair right away. She got my hair dyed and cut and styled within 90 minutes so that I didn't have to pay for parking. She's a good listener and she provided suggestions on my hair which I appreciated. I wasn't that crazy though about how she washed my hair. I've had better scalp massages. Parking is nearby, just a short walk away located in a structure. Would I come back or recommend this place? Most definitely. read more

I had initially found Melina through a Groupon deal, but kept coming back for the amazing service and quality of her work! She only charges a fraction of what most places charge for Keratin treatments, and have lasted me the longest. Even my coworkers love the results I get every time I get the treatment done. I love that she still gives me a great deal on my treatments and services, and she charges much less than what I have been quoted at other salons. She's quick, efficient and very friendly. I've never had any communication issues with her. Every time I text her I get a reply within the next half hour. I have even referred my friends and family to her. The location is a tad bit hard to find. She's located within the "Phenix" salon right behind Brand blvd. when you enter you want to take the hallway to your left and keep heading straight down, past the restrooms. Hers is the last one on the dead end. I parked in the structure on the same block and first 90 minutes are free. Me and my mom both had the Keratin treatment done and only ended up paying $2 for parking. I will definitely be back in 5 months for another Keratin treatment! And probably a cut too... she charges $20 less than my other lady for a haircut lol read more

I do keratin treatments a few times a year and she trims my hair as needed. The treatment itself takes place in her private salon and takes about 2.5 hours. I follow her after-treatment instructions to a and it lasts about 3-4 months. Without this, my hair is a knotty frizzy mess! I love that I can still wear my hair curly. I had an appointment and this lady was a No Show. I originally left a voice msg to cancel my appointment, and she called me to reschedule and it was for today. However, no one was there, lights off, doors locked l. I text her and she tells me I did not confirm my appointment. Well how convenient of her to just say that and not show up. Very unprofessional! I don't like to write a bad review because Melina is very sweet and kind. However, her work is not so great unfortunately, because I wanted to continue going to her since I live in Pasadena and she is close to home with reasonable prices for keratin. She basically rushes through the process and doesn't do it the way it's intended. She thinks that people won't know. instead of blow drying your hair like it's supposed to be done, she just straightens the hair while wet with the keratin on it. I have had it done many times and they always blow dry. When I brought it to her attention while she was doing it, she said no, that's how it's done. I'm not a fool. Sure enough after washing it a few days later like she tells you to do, my hair was just like before. I don't recommend going to her, she cuts corners and that's why it's cheap. Honestly going here was a terrible idea and now Melinda is saying that she wants security camera footage of us and a receipt even though we tried going to her first but then she stopped answering our phone calls and texts. She said that she doesn't remember me and my wife and the $78 kerratin treatment was cheap and she's right, it was very cheaply done workwise. But we paid more than that, in fact more than teh $100 she listed on her website!! She said she would give us a discount for being late to the apointment so if this is the discount I am very unhappy. $3 dollars would be too expensive!!! My niece has pictures of what my wife's hair looked like after coming back from the Salon.We will upload it. We went here because I wanted to give my wife a nice gift with Groupon but the receptionist told us we could pay without Groupon so beware this is a scam so you can't get a refund.
