Dr. Melinda Gordon does not F around. She fixed my throbbing pain and told me what I needed to do to fix it. I saw the X-Ray and I was embarrassed that I did not follow her first advice. So here I am...the throbbing pain is gone and I'm loving Doctor Gordon. She is my hero! read more

TERRIBLE!!! This has been the first review I have ever written but it was so BAD I had to write. I saw the amazing reviews for this dentist and she was right down the street from where I live. First I walk in and a lady is just sitting there she didn't even look up at me and said she'll be with you. About 10 minutes later the assistant comes and hands me paperwork to fill out. The rude lady sitting at the desk was the dentist (Dr. Gordon). I finally went back in the chair and they had ancient tools to do my x-rays. Her assistant did all my work by herself. My gums were already swollen so this ancient tool she was ripping my mouth open with caused more damage. She FINALLY finished and then Dr. Gordon told me what I already knew routine root canal for one tooth and wisdom teeth extraction then had her assistant recommend me to an oral surgeon. To add salt to a wound she saw my swollen gums didn't prescribe anything and I ended up in the ER that night. Be cautious about going here, either she wasn't having a good day or she just doesn't care anymore! Maybe if she upgraded her office she would feel better! read more

I chose this place for convenience as it is located right down the street from where I live. I took my children here for cleanings, x-rays, etc. All of the staff was friendly and professional and answered all of my questions. They were great with my teens who were apprehensive about the whole process - both my kids walked away feeling great about their experience - each had a cavity filled and a cleaning/polishing. DO NOT GO HERE. I went here once as a referral after going to my other dentist for years. I had went in for a cleaning and knew that I had 2 cavities from my previous dentist's X-rays a few months before. Melinda told me I had 8. I was naive and trusted her as a professional. She drilled 8 holes in my teeth and was not as "gentle" as other reviewers claim. Another family member went here too and she claimed to find a bunch of cavities in their mouths too. What a wretched thing to do to people. Stay far away, she only wants your money. read more

I called here to see if they accepted my daughter's dental insurance. Judy was very nice, and told me she would call and find out if they did. She called me back in about 5 minutes. Thy do not accept it, so I cannot say if the dentist is good or not. I can say she was nice enough to check for me, and call me back promptly. Usually you cant even get that service anymore. Dr. Gordon has the magic touch. She works miracles! i remember my first visit and insecurities because i had such bad teeth. Until I came to see her! Not to mention her affordable 3 minute painless bleaching procedure (best thing ever). Dr. Gordon is not only my dentist but has now become my friend throughout the years of being her patient. I have been going to Dr. Gordon for a few years. After frustrating experiences with other dentists, who were more interested in up-selling services than my dental care, I found this office. Dr. Gordon was referred to me by a co-worker.. She was close to my work, so I decided to give it a shot. From my first visit I could tell that she would be my Dentist from that point forward. She was patient with me (still is) and explained everything in detail, and guess what? I have never had any need for additional work, aside from the normal cleaning. Honesty in dentistry. What a concept!!! Her office and equipment is always pristine and her staff is even nicer than her, if that's even possible. Judy and Lyza treat me like family and are always on top of my appointments. With everything that's going on in my life, is nice to know that I don't have to worry about my dental care. Called today July 9th, 2014. Very frustrated with how my call was handled. First time client making appointment. I was discriminated for having DentiCal. Was placed on a 15 minute hold saying I needed to answer some questions first. After all the waiting got transferred to Voicemail. Then I call back, someone else answered the phone. I asked to make an appt as a first time client, this time I did not mention what type of insurance I had (nor was I asked) and I was offered an appointment 2 weeks out. Cant review Dr. Gordon as a dentist because I wont be taking that appointment. read more

Dr. Gordon and her staff were amazing! They are kind, professional, and efficient. I went in for a checkup and deep cleaning; they did it all in less than an hour. Review of Dr. Melinda Gordon - General Dentist Dr. Gordon and her staff are warm, friendly and caring folks. I've been seeing Dr. Gordon for many years and have passed her name on to many of my friends and co-workers! Her workmanship and costs are excellent and she does not encourage work or procedures, when none are needed. I've had crowns, regular cleanings, deep cleanings, bonding, bridgework and fillings and my son has also been a patient since he was little. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's been amazing from day one. Everyone here is very friendly, and they're spot on when it comes to certain issues with your teeth. After every appointment, my mouth feels refreshed and it's always a joy coming here. I will continue to come here for the rest of my life and I strongly recommend everyone around the San Fernando Valley area to come here. Doctor Gordon is a friendly woman and all of her assistants are just as friendly as well. And to cap this off, yes...equipment is updated. I was referred to Dr. Gordon by a friend of mine about 4 years ago, and am so glad he did. I don't care what kind of tools she has, she knows what she is doing and does it well. I choose to use Dr. Gordon because her attention to detail and her friendly nature. When I first started going here 3 years ago I was hesitant because I hated the dentist. I'm afraid of the dentist- the white coats, the smells, the noises and weird plastic-covered chairs. Don't even get me started on the equipment, or the scraping sounds AGGGGGH! It makes me want to run and hide. The last dentist I saw promised me a painless root canal, gave me pills and gas to knock me out. Then I woke up halfway through and could feel everything! It was a nightmare. And it explains why I didn't go back for over five years. Well, enough is enough. As a 27 year old, with four impacted wisdom teeth, I knew I had to make right by my mouth. So I swallowed my fears and rifled through the dentists on my insurance website. I am sexist. I picked Dr. Melinda Gordon because she was a woman. Women are better with scared people then men. Period. I made my appointment and walked through the door with sweaty palms. What would she find? It's been so long, I might have a catastrophic situation inside my mouth. Would I need fillings? Root canals? Bridges? Dentures? A jaw transplant? Would she shame me for not flossing twice a day, and for waiting so long for a cleaning? I lay back on the plastic chair, holding still as best I could and chanting "strong, silent, still" as she scraped the nasty from my teeth. She made some practical recommendations (Listerine plus Whitening to soothe my sensitive gums) and I kept chanting, my palms sweating ferociously. She kept asking if I was OK, and told me to lift my hand if I needed her to stop. I held my ground as she worked her way through my mouth. I reminded myself of the 8 hours I spend having the right side of my ribs tattooed. That was painful! This, scary and annoying, but manageable. Dr. Gordon and her assistant on each side of me, I felt reassured. Dr. Gordon referred me to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth, gave me a little goody bag of travel-sized toothpaste and floss, and sent me on my way. I feel a little less afraid of the dentist now, and that's a good thing! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Gordon for 25 years! I have nothing but good things to say about her and she's always been there when I needed her. And yes, her office is busy, so if it isn't an emergency, your appointment might be out a few weeks. For any medical professional, this is true - especially the good ones.
