I took time off of work, drove 20 minutes Gena's shop and she was nowhere to be found. After calling and texting her for 15 minutes, she finally answered the phone saying she was so sorry, but she did not work on Tuesdays. However, today wasn't Tuesday it was FRIDAY. When, I asked if she received my text confirming the appointment, she was not very coherent and her excuse was that she was having phone problems. I am so disappointed that I tried to support a local business and received such unprofessional treatment. I won't be surprised if this business no longer exists.

I…read morehad been meaning to get a facial for quite a while and was hoping I could snag a great deal via Groupon, Yelp Deals or some other variant deal website. One morning, whilst still wiping the sleep from my eyes I went onto Groupon and saw this deal screaming at me: "$45 FOR AN ULTRASONIC FACIAL BUT YOU HAVE TO USE IT TODAY AT 2:30PM!!!1!" I had never heard of an ultrasonic facial before, but the price was incredible... and as luck would have it, had an entirely free afternoon. It was like the Universe wanted to bring us together... Now lemme preface my experience with some back story on my skin. It was blech. I had been plagued with discoloration, acne scars and dullness since my mid-20's (which is weird because I'm only 22... ok 30). Like most skin conscious consumers, I ran the cosmetic gamut of retinol, alpha/beta/hydroxy acids, salicylic acids, lactic acids... basically, I was on acid. I even tried to make my own exfoliating scrubs and serums from ingredients in my kitchen and medicine cabinet, but to no avail.... After seeing Samtosa now for 3 months, my skin looks radiant! I cannot believe it! She taught me about skin metabolism and broke all my preconceived ideas on proper skin care regimens. At first I thought she was a bit crazy telling me not to use moisturizer, not to exfoliate and not to wash my face with cleanser in the morning... I also looked at her sideways when she told me about the 302 skincare line, since in my experience most estheticians just want to hock their wares. But I could tell Samtosa sincerely believed in the whole 302 concept, and she didn't try to push me into buying anything. I decided to try a few products from the 302 line, and I'm glad I did because they are worth their weight in gold! Within a few weeks I could tell a drastic difference! The discoloration is fading, my pock marks are filling in, and the overall appearance of my skin looks healthy and glowing. I seriously look like I could pass for 22.... thanks to Samtosa! Samtosa is now my go to lady for all my skin care needs. Nothing goes on my face unless she approves it. Not only does she know her stuff, but she's a very sweet lady to boot. The hardest part was locating the lobby doors to enter the building since there are also restaurants/businesses on the first floor. She accepted credit card and I paid tip in cash. Bathroom is in the hallway with keys provided by the office. The nice part about her business being within the chiropractic group is that you can check-in at the front desk and wait in their waiting room. I've been to other small businesses with a single room where you wait in the hallway until your appt. Definitely planning on returning. Located in the tall business building, 9th floor.

Laura has been doing different forms of "permanent makeup" -eyebrows, lips, eyeliner, etc. She creates a very natural effect- not overdone and it's not noticeable that it's been done at all. I had my eyebrows filled in a bit with natural-looking strokes that look like individual brow hairs. She took the time to look at my face and measure out the exact proportions that would be flattering for my face shape. I appreciated the extra time that she took to explain the process and what to expect. She has a take-home packet that explains each stage of the healing process so I got reassurance along the way and knew that everything is on track. Her attention to detail is great.

I am working with her now, today she performed fibroblast treatments in the eye and lip areas. I mentioned to Kristie that during past procedures I couldn't be numbed enough, and she responded by ordering a second numbing cream. First lidocaine cream, followed by a 3 in 1 numbing cream. What a difference! The fibroblast treatment is far less painful than a surgical procedure. I am 1 hour post treatment and I feel just a hint of heat. The entire process lasted around 1 1/2 hours, 30 minutes of which I spent reclining in a lovely, serene space while the lidocaine cream rested prior to treatment. My eyes and lip area look just slightly brown and a little dry. I look forward to a week from now when the healing should be well on its way. Back to Kristie for RFD with dermabrasion. This process took about an hour and a half, and after she applied a film of cellular mix to aid in healing. This is not my favorite procedure. I decided to try dermabrasion instead of a chemical peel. The jury is still out, but I'll update the review in three months after the cellular process has completed its cycle. * I found the room to be a little cool, so you might opt to wear a lightweight shawl or other garment. Kristie does provide a blanket, but I'm happy that I brought the extra shawl.* Check out Halo Skin Spa list of services on Yelp or Google search. Halo is inside of the Pier One building behind Best Buy. Reasonable pricing. Kristie is great! Public parking is free. Trolley and bus are a 4 minute walk.
