The lending part of the process was especially intimidating and anxiety-provoking. Based on a family recommendation, we reached out to one person initially, but the communication was transactional, terse, and spotty. It only made us more uncomfortable and disoriented. That's when we reached out to our real estate agent for her recommendation. We said we didn't know what was typical, but that we were hoping for a more hands-on approach. She recommended Max Snyder with the 100 Doors team at RWM. Max is absolutely phenomenal. He's personable and patient, with excellent attention to detail and follow through. He's a strong communicator and responsive, too. Whenever we were confused or curious, he was happy to answer our questions. Throughout the process, he kept in mind our "financial personality" and how we wanted to approach our expenses conservatively. He helped us set our overall budget based on our desired monthly payment. Then, as we house hunted, he created reports on the homes we were most interested in so we could get a clearer picture of their feasibility. That was an awesome service! It empowered us to make offers and understand our limits. He also helped us explore our options to save money, such as presenting ways to qualify for an interest rate cut and the ability to lock our interest rate (as well as good timing for the lock). Come time to shop for home insurance, we knew the monthly cost to shoot for to keep our monthly payment where we wanted it. Around our closing disclosures, he let us know what to expect, so there weren't scary, deal-breaking surprises numbers-wise, and he explained changes we spotted. At every turn, I felt like I knew what was going on and like I wasn't alone. His team kept us on track through all the major milestones and got us to our closing date on time. There was even a moment when the listing agent mistakenly requested a later closing date. Extending our interest rate lock would've incurred a daily fee, but that was our best financial option. To help us through the change, Max offered to absorb the fee. Max made the lending process warm and approachable. He instilled confidence, both in him and in our own decision-making abilities. I can't thank him and his team enough for all their hard work. We couldn't have asked for a better loan officer. It's hard to put into words how much this positive experience meant to us at such a stressful, exciting, and significant point in our lives.
