Local establishment with a timeless atmosphere, friendly service, and good eats. Solid choice for a casual lunch or dinner outing with friends and/or family alike. Seating is a bit tight, especially during busy times, so carry a small purse and leave the jacket in the car ;)

Time to update this one. Melito's continues to be a go-to neighborhood haunt. They are true to their identity for approachable comfort food. The chili dogs remain a staple, but I also can't say enough about their meatloaf sandwich which comes with a side of spicy red sauce to apply as you will. Fires are hot and well cooked and well seasoned. The soups are generally good -- look at the specials board. Salads are generous (I love whatever Caesar dressing they are using) and desserts remain delightful. Service is always attentive. Three televisions tuned to sports, silent but easily seen. Will continue to be a regular here.

Great food. Great service. And fantastic ambience... This place has been around for a long time. And for good reason. Support local.

This brownie sundae with gelato celesti ice cream was amazing!

3 stars for the food, but the incredible dessert bumps it up to 4! I came here on a whim for a mommy/son date with my 3 year old. He said he wanted hot dogs and so we jetted over to Melito's after school. They're known for their famous hot dogs, so of course we had to order them! My son likes them plain, no mustard or ketchup and I like mine with both. We also got fries and I added a side salad. I was surprised by how big and fresh the side salad was. I always love when any restaurant takes side salads seriously and doesn't skimp out. The ranch was fantastic too. Unfortunately, after the side salad high, things fell flat for me when the hot dogs came. I don't think these are grilled, and that's normally how I like my dogs. The fries were pretty run of the mill also. I was feeling fancy this day so we sprung for their cheesecake brownie which comes with Gelati Celesti ice cream (my fave!). And it was worth the sugar rush and calories. This dessert was sooo amazing. I would go back just for that! We gobbled it up. The best part about this dinner was that it set me back $25 including dessert and a side salad! And for that reason, we will be back!

This is an American food restaurant and neighborhood bar so it's popular in the area. There's a Greek restaurant in the same shopping center that is one of my favorite lunchtime places for quality food at a good price, so I see Toast from time to time when I'm picking up takeout. We arrived around 2 p.m., so after the lunch rush. They do a good brunch on the weekends, but I wasn't in the mood for breakfast and brunch so I made sure they were serving the lunch menu. We ended up just sitting at the bar. They had golf on the tv so my husband could watch while we were chatting. For drinks we ordered a margarita and an old fashioned. They were as expected. For our meals, my husband ordered the crab and shrimp,p nachos, which surprised me. He's a salmon fan so I thought he'd go that route for his meal but he said he really enjoyed the nachos. I got the Thai salad with ahi tuna. My salad was just what I wanted...healthy and tasty. Toast is definitely a great restaurant and if I lived nearby, I'd be here on a regular basis.

It was a tricky life I was living going to school in the City. The burger is excellent. The fries are great. The beer tastes like beer. It's simple, but I love it. It can be a bit packed, so maybe make this a solo endeavor if you're really feeling fat. You can always find a spot at the bar. The parking, not easy for most. But for me, I'm not scared to maybe park in a spot that's not reserved for Jack Browns Customers. I may sweat it for a second, but don't let that potentially 2 block walk stray you away from a delicious burger.

To their credit, they do have a good draft/bottle beer list, and their burgers are indeed good. However, that's really all there is to recommend them. The parking situation here is absolutely awful and starts things off on a bad note. Their absence of a waitlist system made it awkward while our party waited to get a table and other groups waiting for a table jockeyed for position, and they took forever to clean it off even after the previous party had left. While it was nice of my compatriots to pay for my dinner, the server refused to split our checks, which made it especially obnoxious for my friends who had ordered significantly less than others since they were still on the hook for the even split. If this had been the only service issue it might have been somewhat forgivable, but the server all but disappeared for most of the evening after taking our orders, particularly when most of us ran dry before our food finally arrived. This all might be excusable in a cheaper place, but Jack Brown's is NOT cheap anymore, they are just as overpriced as every other "bougie burger" spot around without a valid justification for it. At the end of the evening, I looked really dumb for choosing this place. That is definitely not a mistake I will make twice. Overall: 2.0 stars --- Pros: - Excellent draft and bottle beer list. - Burgers are good and unique. Cons: - Recent price increases kill the value proposition of this spot, just not worth it anymore when there are SO many options around for this sort of thing. - Weird seating/waitlist situation makes for a bad first impression. - Service was incredibly low energy, and as I can attest to as a former restaurant server myself, a party of eight needs some effort to get things right. - Parking here sucks, this area desperately needs at least one parking garage to make it less of an exercise in frustration to get here in the first place.
