This was our first time here for Mother's Day and I would say it's mediocre. They did not have the rooftop open and I would've thought it would've been due to the holiday. However, we ordered the steak sliders which were great. The fettuccine Alfredo was okay but could use more sauce. The chicken tenders wasn't anything exciting about those. The crab dip was not good... it tasted like cream cheese with no crab or ole bay as well as the bread. I was a bit taken back when we saw that there sides are à la carte. For this type of vibe, I would've never thought that. The feel and the vibe is not worth their menu to be à la carte especially if the vibe is a bar feel with no tv or rooftop view... but if u want to grab a sandwich and beer it's perfect. read more

We went out to grab a bite to eat and, with it being a beautiful day out, we asked to be seated outside. For some reason the hostess thought "close to the door" was the same thing so, not only were we not outside, we delt with people coming in and out past us. Our server was friendly and helpful I thought it a little ridiculous that the menu tells you to look on the chalkboard for the daily pasta yet this location doesn't have one. They apparently use the same menu as another location that has a chalkboard but this one does not. So after searching for a chalkboard and unable to find one, our server told us when she came to take the order. The food was good but not great. My drink said it had basil in it but there was no even the taste of basil. The chicken in the pasta was full of grizzle and loaded with pepper. Not sure we will be back. read more

Some friends and I went here for Cinco de Mayo. Our waiter stated they had no idea they would be busy for Cinco de Mayo. The drinks were not what I expected, they were weak, I ordered mango margaritas. They also took a long time to bring our table of seven, our drinks. We ordered meals. It took a long time for the meals to come. Mine was salmon and brussel sprouts. The salmon was lukewarm. The brussel sprouts were cold. I understand nights on the rooftop deck is fun and that would be Thursday through Saturday. During warm weather only. I will give this establishment another chance. I am used to dealing with this establishment on the Knuckles Road location which I highly recommend. read more

I went there the other day for dinner on the rooftop and Kate was the best bartender. She was super friendly, kind, attentive, and bubbly. She made the best spicy margarita and was always on top of it! You can tell she knows her stuff and loves what she does. The food was delicious! I will definitely be returning and hope Kate will be there when we come back. I have told my friends about this place and the wonderful experience we had. read more

I visited with a large group for a friend's birthday brunch. They were generous with their time, as the table sat and chatted for a while after wrapping up. I tried coffee and the Southerner bowl. Both were pretty good; nothing wildly special to run back to, but generally tasty. Prices were reasonable. and the location in Regency was convenient. read more

This is the new name and place that was Sloop John B. This is a nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking. They now have a roof top for live music. Good selection of beer and menu items. They have a decent happy hour too. Plus the owner is in and out often which is nice to see an owner mingling with customers vs a corporate conglomerate owner. read more

Met a friend for lunch on one of the best weather days we've had all summer here in Richmond. We sat on the patio next to the parking lot and there was a breeze the entire time. Love the open air vibe of this place with the garage doors that slide up on two sides of this restaurant. The vibe and the weather made it feel like we were in California. Our server Sam was incredibly friendly and helpful giving us her take on each of the dishes we were interested in. I got the mahi-mahi sandwich with fries. Both were done nicely. Felt like the fish could've been slightly bigger and had a little bit more zing to it, but it had a nice flavor. I'll probably try the West Coast burger next time though. My friend got just a regular burger and she enjoyed it. She got a Caesar salad on the side, which was a little heavy on the dressing. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back to try out some other options. This is a great place to go when the weather is nice and want a cocktail because the atmosphere alone really makes this a relaxing experience. Also- parking is no problem. Mother's Day 5/11 5:20pm Nice looking restaurant. Kinda reminds me of a sports bar while also a kid friendly restaurant. Initially, I ordered everything to go because I thought they would be slammed since it's Mother's Day. But upon walking in the door, I noticed there was plenty of seating so I decided to eat inside. I know the wait staff tend to frown upon when you get a to go order and then decide to eat inside because of the tip issues, but I'm the type that would tip regardless. Therefore, I order a sweet tea, and I asked for some balsamic glaze for the brussels sprouts. Needed to make sure I got a bill. I appreciate the courtesy/customer service from the waitress and I'm guessing the Manager who also helped me. Ordered : Crab dip - it's ok. 5/10 Pimento grilled cheese with apple bacon - upon biting the sandwich I was a little taken back in that pimento cheese was cold. I thought it would be warm since it's a grilled item.. it's also a little spicy which y'all know I don't like spice. 4/10 Side of mashed potatoes - very bland and no salt and pepper on the table 1/10 Crispy brussels sprouts - the brussels sprouts were the bomb, especially with some balsamic glaze. 10/10 Sweet tea with lemon - Good 10/10 read more

We dined here for dinner and ordered these entrees: blackened chicken alfredo, black and bleu burger, salmon avocado salad, ribeye steak as well as appetizers (nachos) and dessert. The pasta was good overall but there was a chunk of bad chicken and the side salad came with a dressing that my daughter didn't want. She wasn't asked what type of dressing she wanted so when it arrived, she asked for a different one. I noticed on our bill that there was an additional charge for that, small, but still didn't seem right given that there was no choice offered. The burger was good but toppings were not evenly spread out. Salmon avocado salad was great, salmon was perfectly cooked, and the ribeye was also done well. Our nachos were ok, sauces were good but like the burger, toppings were not distributed well - there were globs of sauce on one side. Service was ok, we were assisted by other staff members more than our server. Our appetizer dishes were not collected until near the end of the meal so the table became a bit crowded. Bathrooms were not maintained well: trash overflowing and several were out of toilet paper. We did not speak to a manager about our experience because we had plans at Riddle Me This escape room and had to leave for our reservation there. Went here for lunch with some co-workers, and honestly, I had a good experience. From the moment we walked in, management and staff were super friendly and welcoming. Service was consistent from start to finish, and definitely made me feel at ease about everything. The restaurant itself is extremely clean with plenty of seating options. They have large patio spaces that are a great spot to hang out but unfortunately, it was raining during our visit, so we didn't get to enjoy it. I'll definitely be back on a nicer day to check it out. I ordered the Baja fish tacos, and they were solid. The fish could've been a touch crispier, but the flavor really made up for it. Overall, my meal was satisfying, and everyone at the table seemed to enjoy theirs as well. Parking is easy and I can see this being a good spot not just for a quick lunch, but also for after-work drinks or dinner with friends. It's worth giving a try. read more

Went to the Regency Square location on a busy Friday night. The best part was our waitress, Page, she was accurate, bubbly, knowledgeable, and just a lot of fun! Others in the group would probably give 5 stars because they enjoyed their food (salmon, burger, black/blue salad) but I'm giving it 4 because my grilled cheese was awful. Nowhere in the description did it mention Jalapenos - which I hate. If I'd known it would have them in the pimiento cheese, I would have ordered something else. Also, one absolute requirement for grilled cheese is that the cheese be hot and gooey - this was neither. So disappointed in my meal. After dinner we went to the rooftop bar for the music (3guys) which was great. Not much table service at all, but we had a nice evening. Oh, I wish I could give you a 5, but if the food is sub-par, I just can't do it. Will get something else next time! (I'm sure we'll be back.) read more

I have been here a few times it was good, no problems. I came here with a friend today right around 11:35 am and we asked to sit outside. They sat us outside. The food, soup and hamburger took over 45 mins to get. We asked about the long wait, supposedly our food got placed after a big door dash order came in. The manager came out " Hey sorry we got a big order" We said " we arrived when you opened" manager " well your order didn't come in before that". The waiter or whoever came out sat us and then left us til I waved them down. Anyways, the manager was very rude- and hamburger was raw in the center. This is the place to be on this side of town. Their management and staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. I like their recent remodel, especially the rooftop and open air patio. On live music nights, get there early to get a spot on the roof. Hoping they expand their signature cocktails a bit more, but overall, it is a perfect lunch or dinner spot. Haven't eaten here, but I have spent several evenings in the upstairs, which has phenomenal atmosphere (five stars for that). The issue is they charge you $5 now to get in, the service is ridiculously slow, and the drinks are weak and overpriced, oh and there aren't enough restrooms. This place could be my go-to, if they'd just drop the cover and open up a second bar upstairs. I don't get dressed up to go stand in line. read more

Great new spot! Honestly, the food was really really good. We got the salmon avocado salad and the nashville hot chicken sandwich, and both were incredible. The chicken was juicy and the salmon was perfectly tender, and the balance of flavors in each was sublime. Also, their fries are delicious, not obviously heated from frozen like some places.
