There was only one person working, and she did her best. Their massage chairs and foot baths are new and fantastic, and the foot and leg massage was great. The actual pedicure was unfortunately not great: she haphazardly clipped my nails but never went back to round over the pointy corners with a file, or if she did she missed a bunch. She never cleaned under the nails at all, and scraped the skin above my nails when buffing so it stung a lot when she cleaned up with alcohol or acetone prior to polishing, and didn't seem to have any idea how to gently push back cuticles prior to trimming; I stopped her a couple of times as she was jabbing awkwardly at my cuticles with a triangular-headed tool, asking her to please be gentle, but she really didn't seem to comprehend the concept. She did a good job trimming in some places. The polish she applied was neatly done, for the most part, though it got piled up on one side of my big toenail. Other places I've been, they'll put little foam sandals on before they apply polish, then walk you over to the drying fans; not sure if this place doesn't have fans, or the sandals, or what, but she just left me sitting in the massage chair (which again was great, lol) for about 20 minutes until I realized that she was done and I should leave . I was grateful to find a place in Dama to even get a pedi, so hoping this was an aberration.

I decided Mary Ellen has some major issues in her own head & left the salon. Very bizarre for a supposed professional to not speak to a customer, not explain themselves if they feel something has gone wrong, nor keep to a scheduled appointment. I went to Mary Ellen 8 weeks prior & the demeanor was like night & day and she is the one who scheduled this July appointment. I always go to the Cutting Edge and have always had a good cut despite the fact that I was growing my hair out from very short to now shoulder length. It may be in an older building (Camden is an historic town) and many of the people here are retired, but I get far more value here than many of the places I have had my hair cut. In SC I pay $65 for a cut and blow dry and paid $85 last winter on a cruise ship but the best cut I have had in recent years was by Melanie at this salon for $35.00. She will be cutting my hair again on Friday. As to parking, it is very easy as it is right in front of the building, and should it be tourist season, there is still plenty of free parking within a few blocks.
