Stopped by on National Hamburger Day. Place was very busy. They are still in the 'new place in town' phase. Give them 2-3 months and the crowds will settle down somewhat. I ordered the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger, fries and a peach shake. Due to the crowd there as slight wait, but nothing crazy. I took the order to go, since there weren't any tables available. The burger was well prepared, however the blue cheese spread wasn't obvious. Perhaps the fact they also have American cheese on the burger caused the flavored to blend, which came across more like sharp cheddar. Still tasted good, but I was wanting blue cheese. Chicago's style Italian beef? You have to change that name on your menu definitely not a Chicago style Italian beef. Doesn't taste like one, doesn't look like one. I asked for hot and sweet peppers, they didn't even have that. I work in Chicago. I eat Italian beef quite often. The Gyros definitely not as good as you get it in Chicago. I'm not sure what's up with the crazy line but this place is nothing special.. The spot drive-in has better food. That's just my opinion I am new to town. read more

Wish it was up to the hype people are giving it, but it is not. They couldn't even get the name right to start. Then the food was pretty cold but the time we made it home. Crazy that we can get food from Culver's down the street and that makes it home hot, but couldn't. We ordered an Our Chicago Dog, a Hot Dog with Nacho Cheese, a Melkat's Smash Burger, The Chicago Greek Gyro and made this large with root beer and loaded fries. Great to have something here again and the owners totally did it right. Huge menu of Burgers, hot dogs, Italian beef's, fries, custard, shakes, floats, and yes, even salads. The eatery outside is cleaned as soon as patrons finish their meal or treat. There are a few tables inside but are usually occupied. This place is busy and for good reason. Food is great here! Not sure what all the hype is. They updated the inside and now there is one spot for sitting and a few tall tables, no chairs. There is plenty of seating on the patio outside. We placed our order and it started wrong. The girl asked for the name for the order went replied "Best" easy enough. Nope, not easy enough she got that wrong. We ordered a Chicago Dog, a regular dog with nachos cheese, a Melkat Burger, a Chicago Gyro and a loaded fries. She asked if we wanted to make it a meal, then proceeded to ask if I wanted a regular or large. I made it a meal and requested large for $3.00 more and only the drink was large (that I really didn't want to begin with) and there was an up charge on the fries (naturally) but the size didn't change. Honestly, the food was barely lukewarm when we got home and it isn't that far of a drive. Seems as though it didn't start very hot to begin with. My friend and I decided to go for some ice cream after dinner, and I recalled that there was a new ice cream place in town called MelKat's so we went there. To say that it was delicious is an understatement. Their crunch-coat sprinkles are a perfect nostalgic treat! The customer service was wonderful and I will definitely will be back! MelKat's has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Kenosha, and after one visit it's easy to see why this place is already buzzing. I went with the smashburger with bacon and fries -- and wow. The burger was large, juicy, and packed with flavor. The bacon was a perfect addition, and the fries rounded it out into a solid, satisfying meal. Portions are generous without feeling like a gimmick. This is just good, quality food done right. Beyond the food, the vibe here is special. The staff was warm, professional, and clearly cared about the experience. What really stood out was the owner coming out personally to greet customers -- in a busy restaurant, that level of engagement is impressive and speaks to the kind of operation Dino and Jason are running. Speaking of busy -- the place was absolutely packed, and for good reason. The transformation of the former Shirl's Drive-In space is remarkable. Better than Culver's by a long way, especially the custard. It's absolutely divine. This would be a five-star review except for this: why would you hand two people in a car two overflowing cups of custard with no top, not in a bag. Getting food at the drive-through doesn't necessarily mean eat-in-car-and-make-a-sloppy-mess. It probably means "I'm taking this home to enjoy." At least ask the customer whether they want it closed and bagged. read more

So we were so eager to try this . Let's say the hype was just that all hype.. The line was not long at all, we see it everyday when we drive by it everyday. So seeing the line for dinner was very short , thought this would be percent time to try. We were so WRONG!! Our order was very very simple yet it was very very bad. How do you ruin a smash burger? It was so over cooked, no flavor and the pickles were so old. The other person in our party had a cheeseburger smash burger and theirs looked a tad bit better than mine. Ignore all of the1, 2, and 3 star reviews. Talk about a bunch of complainers. Considering how swamped it is I got through the line at a reasonable pace. Don't expect it fast if you want 5 star food. If you rush them then you'll get poor food and service. That being said my food was amazing!!!!!!! Milkshake is a 100 times better than Culver's and the burger and fries were outstandingly delicious!!!! read more

I went there for a dessert and was greatly appreciated. How quickly and efficiently their service was. There were cars lined up around the block. There was a line of at least eight people in front of me and I had my caramel cashew sundae within 15 minutes of being there. I was excited to fry this place. I will say that the Elvis ice cream combo was very good. I was disappointed in the burgers. I ordered it with mustard. Everything done right! Great service. Friendly staff and really good food. We got a smash burger, gyro, tator barrels and small hot fudge sundae. Finally a good gyro in the area!! I had the Italian sausage. There isn't a casing so you don't get that natural casing snap. Seems it's just ground and formed sausage. Taste was good, but over all disappointing. Fries seemed coated to add crunch not natural texture. Staff are nice. I wouldn't recommend it. Trying too hard to replace Shirl's that was there prior. So, just came back from a visit to Melkat's. I was super excited to try their food but prepare yourselves people!!! It was a good hour wait from when we walked in the door (we went inside as the drive-thru was around the block!!!) til we actually got our food. Everybody was hustling like crazy at the drive thru and behind the counter but it was a chaos! People walking in and walking out when they saw the length of the line inside. Once you do order you get your drinks first and then the food. I finished my Polar blast before the food came unfortunately since it took another 15 minutes. Everything tasted very good-the potato barrels were my fave!! Unfortunately by the time I got my burger it was cold-not even slightly warm. Bummer! My guess is they have to make things pretty far in advance to be able to keep up with the non stop customers coming! Maybe when things settle down I'll give them another try. read more
