We were in town for the Masters and got carry out from here. We got 2 large pizzas and a sub. Parking is a little tight for carry out. Go with 2 people and double park. I'm sure it was a very busy week for them and they got our order correct. The pizza and subs were enjoyed by everyone in the group. Everyone said the food was good. I would come back here again. This a hip place. It's usually pretty busy at The Shroom. The husband has been wanting pizza so we decided to go downtown to Mellow Mushroom to satisfy his craving. I've eaten here twice and they haven't let me down! Pure deliciousness. So the first time I had me some Mellow Mushroom they had catered an event at my job. I had two slices of a vegetarian type pizza and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients, soft crust, yummy pizza. Second time around I decided to go here for lunch. After pulling up their menu online I decided that a hoagie was the way to go. I highlighted about seven different sandwiches I plan on trying (and posting photos of) but today I went with the Turkey cheese hoagie on French bread. For $9.20 I now have lunch and dinner :p anyway, my hoagie was perfectly toasted, the sesame seeds an on French roll were delicious, I loved that my cheese was melted and the sprouts give it a nice little hint of different. Most sandwich joints only offer lettuce... So I appreciate the sprouts. Overall very satisfied. A few notes about the business location: pretty busy, big building, you can dine in, order to go, or even take a seat in the nice little bar area they have set up. Pizza and alcohol all in one place? My husband was recommended this place by a coworker so we decided to give it a try. We ordered 10 wings and a large house special pizza. The total was almost $40. That is pretty pricey but from the looks of everything, I thought it would be worth it and boy was I wrong. The wings literally had no flavor and the texture of the meat was super mushy. The house special was one of the most basic tasting pizzas I have ever had. Nothing stood out about it. I could have saved money and went to Little Caesars to get more flavor from a pizza. The only reason I am giving them two stars and not one is because the service was good. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Pros: The food and the service are consistently good. I tend to get the same thing each time (Kosmic Karma) and it is always delicious. The salads and lunch specials are also worthwhile. The bar staff is always pleasant and they have a pretty broad selection of beers with regular rotating taps. Cons: PRICE. I always get sticker shock whenever the bill arrives. While food is, in my opinion, fairly priced, they are very proud of their beers. Example: Had three pints at dinner last night. (Don't judge). Sam Adams Octoberfest and two Drafty Kilts by Monday Night Brewing. When I received my tab the SA Oct was 5.75 and the MNB DK's were 7.50 each. There is another pizza place just down the sidewalk that shall remain unnamed but they are $1 cheaper on the first and $2 cheaper on the second. While I enjoyed dinner, I think I will be doing my drinking there from now on. read more

Wish I could give this a higher rating but nothing about our visit allows it. Came in and we were seated only to see a dead palmetto bug/roach on the floor. Waitress took our drink orders and brought them immediately, and then we had to go find her to place orders because we waited about 20-25 minutes without her returning. Appetizers were brought to our table (6 adults and 5 kids) no plates, no napkins, no silverware. I had to go search out the plates and napkins and bring it to our table myself. The waitress continually kept bringing us the wrong drink orders, which shouldn't be hard since the ONLY options were water, sweet tea or unsweetened tea, as their soda and beer machines (co2) were broken. The food was okay at best. If you don't like Parmesan, for the love of God, don't come here because everything is layered in it. Waitress rarely came to check on us, until it was time to tip. Great downtown pizza joint with hoagies and apps that rock. Went there for my sister in laws birthday and got the spinach artichoke dip. We ate it so fast that I couldn't take a picture but the bread is amazingly seasoned and the dip is fantastic. Great beer choices. My brother and I split the Maui Wowie Pizza (small) and a Jerk Chicken Hoagie (full). We are both pretty big guys and it was more than enough food. The Hoagie was delicious and loaded. The jerk flavoring is fantastic but not overwhelming. The Pie was the best we've ever had. Portions are huge and the chicken is plentiful and well cooked. Pesto base was world changing. Our parents and sister split a large buffalo chicken pizza and were extremely happy with it. And to top it all off, to go cups for the drinks!!! read more

Hmmmm....not very customer focused. A person in my party ordered a Cherry white claw. Response from the server (and subsequently the manager) was that you can order a white claw, but you can't choose the flavor. The manager explained that the bartender does not have time to "select" a flavor, and customers just need to drink whatever the bartender grabs. Mind boggling! Needless to say, we did not stick around to see what the bartender's random selection might have been. read more

The place as become inconsistent again over the past 6 months. Pizza slices with four sides, large sections of crust with pizza dough not rolled out enough, or thin centers with holes in the middle. When you add toppings that doesn't mean just throw a handful in the center. - This place is really good when they do it right, but there is a 1/4 chance that they won't based on my experience. If they are busy or not doesn't seem to be a factor. - Just make the crust correctly, please, and cut the pizzas correctly, please, this will go along way! - And when a customer says no parmesan, it means no parmesan. - I have order over 50 pizzas from here in the past two years. Mellow Mushrooms are consistent enough to know what to expect, but unique enough to have their own personality at each location. This Mellow is not the best I've been to, but it's good. 25 or so beers on tap, trivia on Tuesdays (in which I placed last the first and only time I played, so take my review with a grain of salt), and the delicious Thai Dye pizza I know and love from previous Mellows. Join the beer club if you know you're gonna be around for a while. Servers are as eccentric as they are at any other Mellow Mushroom. I went here with a group of friends and it seems to be the staple pizza place to be in downtown Augusta. It's a chain which I try to avoid but being that I never try pizza from Mellow Mushroom and I was craving for it, I had to. The place has its own bar and huge sit down area with plenty of TVs around. It's a very casual place and if you're a beer lover, they have an extensive list of beers including craft brews. They had Xingu beer which I heard was really good from the bf and it was a plus since I'm a dark beer lover. From what the bartender said, it had a sweet aftertaste to it which I loved. My bf and I shared a pizza and if I can remember it was called Kraze Karma. Delicious! Their menu also offer gluten-free pizza which is always a plus for those health nuts like me. Service was great and we didn't really have to wait that long for our pizza. When it gets warmer, definitely take advantage of their patio sitting. read more

It's hard to mess up pizza and salad. Good thing Mellow has yet to do this. But it only takes one person to mess up a perception of customer service. Of the three times I've visited this Mellow, two have been o.k experiences and the third just plain crappy. It's hard to think of good experiences even after just one bad. It all started when the hostess sat my boyfriend and me next to a group of 12...six adults and six kids in a partially empty restaurant. We were like "hell no. can we sit somewhere else?" The hostess was nice about it; she sat us in a table near the bar. There were two other open tables. I started to get antsy watching the waitress walking by us, filling up other tables' drinks and ringing up tickets. A good few minutes went by when she finally was kind enough to make a pit stop at our table and ask for drinks. Through the rest of the meal, she was either dropping (loudly) a stack of plates on our table, ignoring us, or just passing by. It wasn't until she brought the ticket (how convenient) that she gave the "I'm sorry for bad service. boy I sure was busy. thanks for comin' in tonight y'all. want a to-go cup?" Speech. Um. The best pizza in the city hands down!!!!! Fell in love with this place in Savannah while in college. I was quite surprised when I found out we were getting one in my hometown. The pizza is always fresh, and the salad is equally delicious!!! Worth every penny!!! I rotate which pizza I order, but I always get the chef salad with extra meat and Esperanza dressing. It's their own concoction and it SUPERB!!! I am a lover of bread and their pizza crust is perfect to me, just enough doughiness for me. It's not an undone doughiness it's baked just right. They don't skimp on the toppings on the pizza either. The atmosphere is very laid back and I like that. It can get crowded at times, but the wait isn't too long to snag a table. So take it for what it's worth from my recent experience and it actually saddens me to feel this way, cause it was ALWAYS my favorite.. I ordered the house special pizza (minus a couple of items) this has the works on it kicked up version of a supreme pizza, the last sentence in the description boast of being topped with extra cheese. Well, that was kind of funny because it had less than the normal amount of cheese on it then a pizza has normally in my experience the topping were sparse, overall was less than an average pizza. I guess the high cost of ingredients has caused the decline in quality but it's hard to pay $30 for 1Tea and a medium pizza then add a $5.00 tip cause it wasn't the waitresses fault but.. she didn't ask how was it so maybe she was afraid to. Just finished eating at this cute establishment. My sweetie and I were seated at a lovely booth and we were serviced by a warm polite waitress. I was very happy with the beer selection, and opted for the Samuel smith apple beer. I ordered my buffalo chicken which was ok, and my carnivore honey ordered the somewhat veggie small pie :) It was something new he wanted to try which was great. At the end he wished he had chosen the meat pizza with sauce. It was a good pizza, but he was used to eating meat on his pie. My buffalo pie had great pieces of white chicken, but the blue cheese seemed a bit watery. I only ate one slice of my pie before I decided to take the rest home. The restaurant has an eclectic feeling with funky pictures, and best of all it's clean. If I am ever back again in Augusta, I will be back to try a meaty pizza:) read more
