Ordered spinach artichoke dip for appetizer. Pretty good but lacking in spinach. Ordered Buffalo chicken and shiitake mushroom pizza medium (half n half). It was too cheesy and greasy. Flavors were very bland and the toppings were literally coming off of the pizza, you couldn't eat it. The crust was good. For dessert, we had the brownie sundae - just a brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream. This was not good. Overall, this place is a little pricey, customer service is good, and food is hot, but flavor is severely lacking. I would recommend, but with these notes in mind. read more

Had pizza delivered. It's a little pricey but everything was fresh and tasted amazing!

Glad they are opened during these times but service was total crap. When they sat us, it was a server from the back since the hostess was no where to be seen. They tried to seat my 74 year old Mom in a booth that requires A metal rail to use as a step. We got her seated , but then noticed the foot rail on our side was broken. The booth next to us on either side was in the same shape . So we were moved to a low booth. The window and railing are dirty , kid's handprints and food are still there. Most businesses have a strict cleaning policy between patrons which this business could benefit from. That aside we got our orders in with no trouble , food came out in a reasonable able time. But as I right this one star review, I have seen our server meet with the other servers to chat , none of them Wear masks properly btw. And we have had our cc ready to pu now for almost 20 minutes . I came here on a fairly busy night with a couple of family members. We waited about ten minutes for a table. As a table we ordered pretzel bites and spinach artichoke dip and both were so delicious! I also tried ordering the Peach Paloma but they were out so I went with the Shroom Tea Instead. I ordered the kosmic karma pizza and added bell peppers to it. They only brought out two pizzas at a time because they can only fit so many pizzas in the oven at one time so I would definitely recommend ordering appetizer's so you're not just sitting there eating nothing while everyone else is eating. When they brought out my pizza it had bacon all over it. Somehow the waiter mixed up green bell peppers and bacon? I explained to her that I don't eat meat and she was extremely apologetic about it. She took the pizza away and a few minutes later another guy came by(Im assuming a manager) and repeatedly apologized more and told us to go ahead and take the pizza because otherwise they would just throw it away. I again explained that I am a vegetarian and he told the rest of my family they could just have it and they would get me a new one right away. THEN another guy came to the table(I am assuming a GM) and apologized even more and told us the pizza would be taken off our bill and we would not be charged for it. Long story short, these people were awesome. Even though they messed up they fixed it and were timely and SO apologetic about the whole situation. Oh and my pizza was DELICIOUS. Awesome pizza! I was so happy to see that Mellow Mushroom opened in Beaumont after the one in my hometown closed down. The atmosphere is fun, the service is great, and the pizza is delicious. The Holy Shiitake Pie is a must-try! Their red pizza sauce is really tasty, too. Great selection of beer and wine, and love the cocktails (Peach Paloma is my new favorite). I love to go to Mellow for their awesome menu and great cocktails. Their food is definitely above average and you will be paying more because of that. My only critique is that often when I order pizza it is undercooked for my liking. The dough feels too chewy to the point that it tastes raw. read more

I've eaten at Mellow Mushroom out of state and this Beaumont restaurant is SO different, SO much better and SO much cleaner. Pizzas are all phenomenal. Lots of vegetable varieties and options of pizza sauce or swirls (even pesto)...but just as many meat options. Sensational dough in substance, texture, and flavor. *Recommend - ask for double cut and thin crust. Pretzel bites are a fav, bruschetta may be the best I've ever had, & the Thai wings!!! Such a good surprise- I crave these wings. The Greek salad is also a must. Beautiful, colorful salad with fresh ingredients; crisp, clean, zesty salad. I've never had less than great service eating here. And I've seen servers more than accommodate and go out of their way for good service to children and other tables. Impressed. read more

Everyone raved about this place so I felt like I needed to try the newest place in Beaumont. We tried multiple times to get in to eat but it was always an hour wait or longer. This was interesting because there was always open seats. We decided to come in one day at 11 am when they first opened and got right in. We order a pizza and cheese bread. The cheese bread was great and the pizza was a little better than average. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I was not impressed with the service, the prices were outrageous, the table was tiny and with the pizza on it there was no room. I think I would just prefer Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, or Dominoes. They are cheaper and it was the same quality of pizza. read more

Loved the vibe of this place upon entering -- it has a 70s-80s throwback theme & the ambiance felt like a really cool cafeteria w/ awesome music. The food was really underwhelming, w/ exception to the pizza -- HOLY SHITAKE, literally. The pizza was out of this world. Unfortunately, my steak & cheese hoagie half order was inedible bc of the generous, pretty much excessive shower of pepper that coated & infiltrated the entire sandwich. The burger was your run-of-the-mill burger & the spinach & artichoke dip definitely wasn't worth it (portion was small & quality can be reduced down to canned spinach & beginner level cooking). As far as the service goes, our server was nice, but did forget that we ordered an appetizer (we got our pizzas well before the appetizer came around & the sandwiches arrived some time after that). Love the pizza but carry out service disappointing. Decided to try it for 1st during Covid, notice on door says all customers must wear mask. Great, I love being safe, got mine on. Wake in the To Go side door and both girls at pick up register don't have mask on, just great.... They don't carry about customers safety. Said my pizza was not ready but would bring it out to me. Ok, went to my car and waited. Waited passed my pick up time, decided to walk in and she recognized me and realized she forgot my pizza. She went and grabbed it off the shelf warmer and handed with no apology or explanation. However, this time she did have her a mask because it looked like her manager was at the register this time. They really need to be trained that they are protecting the customer and it they want to remain open and she wants to have a job, a mask is what we have for a Vaccine at the current time. Went there on Sunday after lunch time and this place was still busy. Got a great white and a shitake pie. The wait was a little lengthy because it was busy. But the food was out of bounds. She said she went to the restaurant at least twice a week. When she traveled out of town once she visited one and it wasn't as good an experience. The menu and service was different. Shortly after this location opened we went to the spot in Lake Charles. Horrible lol. Due to my insight I still have our Beaumont location a try and I am ecstatic. Everything was great. Coolest thing happened today, had to share. I was out running an errand and sent a message to the Owner of the new Mellow Mushroom in BMT to see when would be a good time to pick up the shirt I won. He replied today and to come by the location So I drop by and there were lots of cars there. Knowing they open on monday the 22nd. I assumed they were putting the finishing touches on the place. When I walked up I was greeted at the door and I explained why I was there. The girl said she would find the GM. Another greeter let me know they were having a training day and wanted to know that since I was there if I wanted to be a mock customer. Well Hell to the yeah! So they sat me at the bar. The training staff were very good. My waitress/bartender handed me a limited training menu and another paper explaining what was going on. I got my choice of an appetizer, main course and a mocktail. All they wanted was feedback and patience as they trained the staff. oh. And the experience was free of charge. I have eaten and fell in love with mellow mushroom back in 2009. I ordered pretzel and the Sausagefest calzone. I stuck with a Dr Pepper. But they mocktails looked good and no alcohol. While I was waiting the GM came over and talked to me, the Owner came over and we had a great conversation. The Bar Manager had a kept checking on me. I got the shirt I went there to get and when I told them it was My wife's Birthday, I was given a shirt for her. ( which she loves) The pretzel. It was so good. The marinara sauce was really good , but I remember the beer cheese sauce is even better. The Calzone. So much food and soo much meat and cheese inside. I ate 1/4 of it and brought the rest home. I can't wait until next week. I know we will put the Mellow Mushroom on the regular places to go eat. read more

Came here with my family while I was visiting. Mom had been here once before since they opened and warned us but my nephew wanted to go. Service is slow, and inattentive . We waited 1:15 for pizza, and 1 came out incorrect, we ate it anyway as opposed waiting longer. Mom orders the soup and asked for it to be hot, guess last time it was less than luke warm this time it was luke warm, the waitress though remembered to ask mom if it was hot, but again we didn't want to wait to have it fixed. On the plus side everything tasted good. read more

It took us awhile to go to Mellow Mushroom. We figured that most pizza places were pretty much the same. Boy, were we wrong. We've had three pizzas so far and they all were fabulous. They were nothing like the "formula pizzas" at Pizza Hut, Papa John', Pizza Inn, Little Caesar's and the like. My wife noticed right away the absence of tomato sauce. My first impression was the very fresh and succulent veggies and the wonderful crusts (although all of our pizzas were thin crust). Our very first bite told us that this was something very new and different and we loved it. We have never had many calzones, so we decided to try one. The Cheese Calzone we got was huge (plenty enough for two). The cheeses were just awesome and in every bite. We will even try different ones to see if they are all as good. There was one thing that we were less impressed with. The bruschetta was a disappointment. I actually think it was more our fault that theirs. Neither of us had had restaurant bruschetta before. To us, it seemed like garlic bread topped with chunky tomatoes and sauce with little or no seasonings. As I said, we didn't know what to expect so we were unprepared for what we got. My wife and I agreed that it was probably just us. However, we ordered two and gave one to our lawn guy who just loved it. We will be back and hope to sample other pizzas, calzones and specialty dishes. They have a long way to go to top what we had, but I seem to think it will be easy for them. I don't see a Pizza Hut dish in our near future. read more

Ordered pizza for delivery and it was horrible. It arrived cold, soggy, and covered in grease. This happened the last time we ordered and we were hoping it was a fluke. It wasn't. Aside from the temperature and grease issues, the taste wasn't great either. When I contacted customer support through Waitr, they asked to see picturesnof the pizza and the agent agreed it looked absolutely awful and gave us a full refund. It's one thing if it were a cheap or even reasonably priced, but for twenty something dollars, this place is a rip. My husband and I have agreed that we're not going to try it again and waste money. read more

ok Beaumont & Mellow Mushroom here we go again, So tonight there were about 12 black kids sitting in a big booth at Mellow Mushroom. They were a little rowdy just being kids. The manager Aron St Aubin called the cops on them even though at the same time there was a white woman who is a teacher at West Brook yelling during the entire LSU game and being drunk and belligerent. The kids paid for their food AND they tipped their server. When the cops came, the kids scattered about the restaurant. There were a few of them sitting on the patio and they were approached yet technically "not detained" . As they were waiting for the parents to get there to make sure they got home safely and stayed out of trouble. The server went out to talk to the cops and said she didn't know why the cops were called because they paid and tipped her and we're leaving. The cop said it was none of her business and she needed to go back inside and that they were called bc the "customers were afraid". And the server said she wasn't going inside bc it was her business bc they were her table. And one of the little kids were saying that the server was just defending them. The cop yelled at the server to go inside. A second cop pulled the manger to the side to say she was disrespecting the cops by intervening on the kids behalf. The second cop claimed the kids punched a guy on a bike that evening and that's why they were there. But they had been at the restaurant for two hours. turns out, it was actually a second group of black kids out and about that we're gonna meet up with them at the movies. In the end the server was crying bc she was angry about the way the young black kids were treated by the manager and police officers and many other members of the staff were also visibly upset and trying to get the kids to call their parents as well as telling them to not talk to the cops. these events are the account of an eye witness who saw the entire ordeal take place... read more

I have been here 3 times now since I moved here and I haven't been disappointed. Its hard to find a good weird pizza I miss gourmet pizza from back home. This does the trick. I've read so many great reviews and have heard so many great things about their pizza so I decided to try it out. I got a regular supreme pizza to-go. I ate it once I got home and I gotta say, I was disappointed. The pizza was soggy and the toppings and cheese were sliding off the crust. Maybe if you eat it as soon as it comes out of the oven it'll be good, but I highly suggest if you're thinking about getting this place make sure you eat there and don't take too long to eat it, otherwise it'll be gross. read more

Went in for lunch, we were seated immediately. Started off with the sweet tea and dr. pepper, both were great of course. For our meal, we shared the half order of oven baked wings and the small buffalo chicken pizza. The wings were not crunchy like they claimed but the flavor made up for it, we had the thai sweet chili but they were not very spicy. The buffalo chicken pizza on the other hand was one of the best i've had, we got the thin crust and had it cut twice because the slices were very big. Prices were alright, it was $26 for our drinks and meal before tip. Our waitress Robin was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed and it all tasted great.
