We order pretzel bites, but with zesty marinara sauce, not the beer cheese sauce it normally comes with. We always get a spinach salad and the Special thin crust pizza. My husband and I went there for the first time yesterday. We had NO idea it was a pizza place! We are pizza snobs, but thought this was pretty good. We ordered the spinach dip for an appetizer- it wasn't anything extraordinary. I would have loved to see some MUSHROOMS in it. We also added some red pepper flakes to give it a nice little kick. We split the small House Special pizza and were pleasantly surprised with all the fresh ingredients. The pizza was packed with 5 meats and 5 veggies. The crust was the perfect consistency with butter and Parmesan sprinkled on top. The only the critique we had would be to add more sauce. It was a neat place, with cute decor, and it is reasonably priced. For mushrooms being the focus, I would have loved to see more of them on the menu- stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer! read more

Warning be prepared to wait an hour or more for your food. We went during lunch and it took an hour. The waitress didn't tell us about the wait when ordering. The people next to us were told of the wait before they ordered. My husband has to leave and come back to eat due to the wait. I asked for them to keep his food under the heat lamp and I was informed they couldn't. I then informed the waitress it would be absurd to pay for his meal to be cold due to them taking an hour. I asked if they can't keep it under the heat lamp I would need it remade or a discount. She came back and told me they would remake his food when he's on his way back. The GF crust is a super thin crust. I personally would rather the GF crust at Urban Brick or Crown Pizza. I'm not very impressed....hopefully it gets better. read more

Was really surprised how much I enjoyed the food. And the prices were very reasonable. Beer prices were a little high and the same mostly local craft beer that isn't very good on tap. Really wish they would have branched out more for their craft beer selection. Hopefully they will. They put caramelized onions on most of the pizzas. It's good and different, and we enjoyed it. They were super busy when we went. Both appetizers came out very quickly. The pizza took a while but they were pretty backed up with pizza orders. Will go again for sure read more

I would hope the flavor of the pizza far surpasses that of the "Ritz Burger". A Ritz cracker has exponentially more flavor. I have never tasted a burger that tastes like nothing in my life. No seasoning in the meat, no condiments to add any flavor. The best way I could describe it would be if I were to eat a glass of water. My family thought the pizza was ok, but all I can hope is that if enough people steer clear of the flavorless burger, they will hopefully stop serving it. My girlfriend has been a long-time fan of Mellow Mushroom having spent time in San Antonio, so when she found out a location in our hometown was opening, she had to get me to try it. Our first visit was a late Friday night, and considering weekend nights are the busiest we were surprised to be seated immediately. I fell in love with the 70s and 80s themed decor and the excellent taste in music being pumped throughout the restaurant. I wish I could remember our waitress' name, because she was fantastic. Super helpful with questions and recommendations from the menu since it was my first time. We ordered the Pretzel Bites and two small pizzas, The Mighty Meaty and the Da Vinci Pie. Our waitress told us it would be about 20 minutes for the pizzas to be baked, but we didn't mind since we weren't in a hurry. Plus those addicting Pretzel Bites dipped in that cheese sauce that I could bathe in held us over. The pizzas were both wonderful. The smalls are 10", which is actually a lot of pizza for one person. A perfect crust that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and seasoned well, and boy, they don't skimp on the cheese or toppings either! Arguably the best pizza I've had that wasn't from a chain. The only complaint about the Da Vinci Pie was that they put the Mellow Red sauce on it by mistake instead of the garlic and olive oil base. But it was still delicious. Our waitress even wrote specific reheating instructions on our to-go boxes for us, which was a great gesture. Our date night here was wonderful until I got the bill. Our total with two sweet teas was $35, which is much pricier for pizza that I would care for. My inner "Mr. Krabs" was reminding me that I could get two larges from Dominos with three toppings and cheesy bread for a lot less. But yeah, I get it - it's a quality thing. Mellow is one of the very few places in Beaumont that is open past 10 pm that is not a bar, so that alone makes it a much-welcomed gem for a late night out with the girl or my boys. If you don't mind splurging for some awesome pizza, give Mellow a try. Go getcha some. read more

Do not come here unless you like to wait an hour for food. The server did not care one bit to wait on my table. The wings came out cold. With a party of 8 the tables order came out in bits every 10 to 15 mins, so by the time the last person got their food the first was finished. Do not go here until they fix there service. read more

We have been to several Mellow Mushrooms; Georgia, Florida and now our 2nd time in Beaumont. The last time in Beaumont, not much more than a month ago. Service is great. Thanks Ian. However a note to the franchise, (not sure if it's all or just this one) but you cut your "lil salad" in half! So disappointing. We always get the amazing Greek salad and the best Esperanza dressing. BUT it was shocking when our salad came to the table tonight. Barely a one person salad AND still the same price. Definitely not worth $5.29. When asked "what happen to the size of the salad", there really wasn't an answer which I understand the waiter not knowing what to say other than he thought the same size just a different bowl. Sooooooo good is all I can say. Being from Chicago, now living in Southeast Texas, my husband and miss a quality pizza. Quality to us is a nice fluffy crust with a little chew, crispy on the bottom and QUALITY loaded ingredients like they just came from my fridge, not sitting in a restaurant container for days. We had been anticipating the opening for months! I promise you they deliver an AMAZING pizza..you will not be let down. We have found our new place for pizza in Beaumont...no all of Southeast Texas. I was really shocked and surprised about how bad my pizza turned out. The sauce was awful, only one or two pieces ham per slice, and the cheese was greasy. My husband order a beer and it was room temperature. The bartenders were busy....talking, laughing, and flirting with some guys instead of doing their jobs. The bartenders also kept busy with their iphones. The bathroom reeked of dirty diapers. The toilets had some kind of slimy film in the bowl. The paper towel dispensers were so dirty on top and the back of the sink area was slimy too. It will be a very long time before I go there again....if ever. Something has changed and it's a shame.
