What a great pizza. We had great service too. We love this location, right in the heart of Blowing Rock. Never disappoints!

After a long day on the slopes, Mellow Mushroom was the perfect place to wind down. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, exactly what you'd want after skiing. Service was great--our waitress was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The pizza itself was solid, exactly what you'd expect from Mellow Mushroom. I ordered the Mighty Meaty with additional mushrooms, and while the flavors were good, one thing stood out: the mushrooms seemed... raw. It honestly felt like the pizza was pre-made, and the mushrooms were tossed on after the fact rather than cooked with the rest of the toppings. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely noticeable. Overall, still a good spot to relax and refuel after skiing, but maybe double-check how your toppings are handled if you're particular about texture!

I'm a local and have order the Holly shitaki pizza many times. Sometimes the pizza is full of ingredients and sometimes so so so skimpy. Please I'm paying $40 for a pizza fill it up.

After a long drive to Blowing Rock, my family and I needed some lunch asap. We found a mellow mushroom in quaint downtown so we had to stop and get some pizza. Our server was super friendly and service was very fast. We ordered the pretzel bites, the Mighty Meaty pizza, and the Kosmic Karma. All of the food was incredible - the pizzas were baked well, had the perfect amount of toppings, and were just the satisfying fix we needed. The pretzel bites were garlicky, cheesy, and the sauce was so delicious we ended up eating it by itself (when we ran out of pretzel bites). This food was honestly some of the best mellow mushroom food I've had, and I've been to multiple chain locations. Would highly recommend if you're in the Blowing Rock area and craving some good pizza.

I stopped in on my way through town and ordered some Buffalo Wings and a Beer, both of which were extremely satisfying :) I didn't realize it was a pizza place and wasn't in the mood for pizza, so I ate my appetizers and moved on. I would like to go back to try their pizza sometime when I'm craving a tasty pie!

This is a great place. I do like the atmosphere and service. We have never had an issue. They are pet friendly. The food is good but nothing out of the extraordinary. My kids do love this particular restaurant. I do encourage to give it a try. It is a good stop after a long day of hiking.

Usually a pretty solid spot. Good beer selection and decent pizza. Lots of seating. Don't bother with the wings.

Had to do take out to our cabin but the pizzas were delicious. Thin crust pepperoni special was the bomb!

They have an open kitchen concept that could be an amazing experience (huge wood fire oven you can watch the cooks work, watch the pizza crust being tossed in the air, toppings added, and pies created) but sitting at the bar totally ruined that - trash all over the floor, employees throwing order tickets on the floor, rags and a towel under the prep sink, and worst of all - the over flowing trash cans with rubber gloves falling out. It was gross. The employee's had no respect for the open concept or keeping a clean cooking area. All the pieces to make the kitchen amazing (as it was obviously designed) are there, I just wish it was being used that way. Put away the clean dishes vs leaving them in those cleaning racks for everyone to look at, empty the trash, take some pride in the work. If it was treated like a sushi bar and glorified the way it can be, I'd give it 10 out of 5 stars!

My wife and I was were welcomed in by the hostess and seated quickly. It's not a huge space, but they've got a good bit of seating, and a little more upstairs, which allows you to look down into the brewery. Our server, Alex was very friendly and offered some beer recommendations based on our preference. They had a good variety to pick from and even some canned to go. Their food menu also offered a good selection. My wife and I decided to share an order of loaded fries to start, and then the "white buffalo" pizza. I enjoy white pizza, and enjoy buffalo chicken pizza...but this was the first time I've ever seen them together. The food was great, everything, tasted really good, and had good flavors. The Game Day IPA and Lost Province IPA's were both also very tasty Being a Friday night, they had a live musician, playing great music, which we really enjoyed while we ate and took in the atmosphere. I'd pass this recommendation on as well, and would return to try some of their other varried menu next time I visit Boone

Before retiring for the night, we searched for a place to eat and found Momma Mia Italiano Restaurant. At first we were reluctant, thinking how could an Italian restaurant be any good in a small town in Virginia. After all, we are of Italian-American descent -- so we know genuine Italian food and being the cook in our home -- I know how to cook Italian. My meatballs are renowned with our family and circle of friends. Not only are we of Italian descent, we are from NYC where there are the best restaurants in the world!!!! We have lived there over 60 years and have ate at the best! We entered the restaurant to see the entry King Kong sign about being the best -- better than NYC. I knew immediately that sign was spot on -- the restaurant smelled like my home growing up as a child on Sunday mornings! The aroma of the red tomato sauce carried us into our seats! (I think I was floating.) There were so many choices on the menu, it was difficult to make our choices. I decided on a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce and the chicken salad. My husband chose the raviolis and a side salad. The dinner included Italian garlic bread! The service from our server was divine: friendly, courteous and professional. The owner/chef visited us at the table a few times to be sure everything was alright, and it was MORE THAN alright. The food was "delicioso! We are so grateful that God brought us to this awesome restaurant in Abingdon, VA!! We'll be back!

I had some skepticism that it would live up to its reputation, and frankly Southwest Virginia is not a place that someone of my urbane character normally looks for high-end pizza in, but this was another Abingdon gem. A salad was quite large; I'm not usually thrilled with iceberg lettuce and the cheese was a bit much, but the ingredients were fresh and crisp and it was reasonably good for what it was. The pizza I came for was a beautifully presented pie with a crust the texture of a cloud. The special I ordered was just basil, oregano, and fresh tomatoes, but this simple flavor combination delivered on every front: tangy, astringent, savory, salty. Ordering a tea with free refills was a sound enough decision. Service wasn't the smoothest to be honest; only one actual waitress was working and some people had a bit of a delay when they arrived. I also felt a bit rushed out and ultimately asked for a dessert to go at the register, which was probably a better way of eating it anyway. The luxuriously soft tiramisu was another good decision. As is often the case with Italian cuisine, this place does not seem like a great option for those who don't eat dairy or wheat. For those who do, it is a reminder of why some flavors never go out of style.
