My team and I popped in for lunch today right at opening and they did a great job with our party of 12 unannounced. Apps first... Wings: BBQ, Mild and Naked. All tasted great, nice flavor on the sauces and came out hot. Pretzel Bites with Cheese, again hot and fresh, good flavor on the cheese sauce. I ordered the 1/2 Hoagie Chicken and Cheese, no mayo, add garlic aioli and upcharge for Tots vs. chips. The dish was ok, I really liked the aioli on the sandwich, so bonus for that. The only thing was that there could have been a little more chicken on my sandwich. Several in my group ordered pizzas and I heard nothing but good feedback on their meals. When we walked in, there were around four tables of guests at lunch time. This should have been our clue that we should have left. Food was way below average. My husband's food came out about 15 minutes before the rest of our food. It was cold. We waited about 50 minutes for food. Service was also super slow. I went to my first Mellow Mushroom in South Carolina and fell in lice with their potato pizza. It is delicious!! Potatoes, cheese and spicy ranch... I can think of nothing better. This particular Mellow Mushroom was just as great! In addition to the potato pizza we got pretzel bites, the spicy cheese was weird... Like it had been doused in chili oil. Add jalapenos and it was just too hot and greasy but the pretzels were good. We also ordered spinach artichoke dip and wowza it was delicious, but I am a big fan of spinach artichoke dip with toasty bread lol. Their mushroom soup is to die for.... Every location I have been to it's always consistent and delicious. My brother had the wings which he loves. All in all it was great! I have been wanting to try this place for months and finally went today. I placed my order online and paid as there was no cash option. I walked in confused where to go to pick up my to go order. This pizza was so juicy and it has touched my soul! I love a good pizza and I love that they had cherry tomatoes and Roma tomatoes on it. My family had excellent service here. The spinach dip and the pretzels for appetizers were some of the best I've had! We also accidentally ordered the meatballs instead of the spinach dip which was entirely our fault because it was confusing when we ordered it. Without us even asking they still brought us the spinach dip and took BOTH appetizers off our bill! The manager went above and beyond. The pizza was delicious as usual. I've never had a bad service experience there. Also, I did carry out about a week later and as soon as I drove up I was greeted within 2 minutes and had my pizza 3 minutes later. The girl working told me they made our large pizza a little too small so they added an extra small pizza. I wouldn't have even noticed about the large being a little small. Great place for big parties! I recently went here with my family to celebrate my sisters birthday and it was perfect (we were a party of 16 people)! There is a huge selection of indoor seating, a large bar, and outdoor seating (with an area to hang out and play bags). My party didn't make a reservation until about an hour beforehand and Mellow Mushroom was very accommodating. They set up a table fairly quickly and we were seated shortly after. The waiter was quick to get our drink/food orders and the food was out right away. I ordered the "great white" pizza and it was surprisingly really good! This was not my first time at a mellow mushroom, I visited one in Destin, FL when I was younger on a vacation. When my wife, daughter and I visited the new location in Cottleville I was pleasantly surprised to really like the new decor and outdoor set up, it's really modern and fun for families. With that being said, it definitely is a place for kids to go, it is very loud, there are kids running all over the restaurant... it's more like Chucky Cheese if you ask me. And that's why I am giving it 3 stars. The pizza we ordered was delicious and came out quick but the salad we had was just sort of plain and didn't pack a punch. The noise level and just how many kids ran past our table while we tried to enjoy our meal was a little annoying. It was hard for my wife and I to have a conversation. I loved the funky decor! Never realized Mellow Mushroom was a retro inspired pizza joint but I'm so happy I tried it. The pizza choices were great, waitress was friendly and attentive, and the whole ambiance was pleasant. Their menu pizzas had interesting flavor combinations but nothing that really jumped out as sounding truly inspired. The waitress was training someone so it was like having two people waiting on us. They have a lot of good items on the menu. First of all this is not our first time at this restaurant chain. My wife isn't a big pizza eater but she does indulge me from time to time. We arrived about 5 pm on a Saturday , the restaurant was steady but not packed. We requested outside patio seating since it was a beautiful day. The wait was about 10 minutes, not a big deal for us. When we were seated we waited about 10 minutes before our server approached our table. He took our drink and food orders at the same time since we knew what we wanted. About 15 minutes later he arrived with our beverages, weird but ok. We waited another 30 minutes for our pizza to appear. In the meantime I had ordered another beer which took about 15 min to arrive. My wife and I ate about half the pizza and we wanted the rest to go . The issue is was no waiter to be found. I even went into the restaurant to try and find him. Nope..... Finally about 20 min later he appeared and dropped our check. The food was good, the reason for the 2 rating is the service. We eat out a lot, we are not demanding however customer service is very important to us. The patio was dirty, and the service left a lot to be desired. We may or may not be back. Isn't pizza a great meal? So many variables to satisfy almost every craving. Mellow Mushroom is new to the St. Charles area and while only a week old, it's humming along like a well oiled machine. It was packed for lunch with a wait, but they were able to get us a table in a short while. We started with a Greek salad which was a spot hitter. Lots of fresh veggies and a tangy dressing. The Great White Pizza had perfect crust and basil, mozzarella, feta cheese, ricotta cheese, tomatoes and virgin olive oil. Perfecto! I went with coworkers for lunch on Valentines day and the place was busy but we were seated right away. I love the 80's vibe to the place. I ordered the small Mighty Meaty pizza and ate just a bit more than half of it. It was delicious. I had to stop myself from over eating because I just kept wanting one more bite. Everyone else loved their meals - the buffalo chicken pizza looked really good and my coworkers raved about it. Another coworker really loved the Pretzel Bites (I'll definitely get them next time). Ordered broccoli for a side got apples... only when we asked the server after food arrived was told they dont have any... after an hour our pizza came out. I love the Mellow Mushroom! My first experience was at the Mellow Mushroom in Savannah- love it! I was so happy to find that Mellow Mushroom has come to Cottleville! Love the pizza here! Last night we stopped in to dine ( great job with social distancing) and we ordered the Pacific Rim pizza thin crust .... its sooooo good love the pineapple Canadian bacon crispy bacon and jalapeños and plenty of cheese! Talk about flavor mmm! Puts Bobby Flay to shame ! They have so many unique but great pizza selections you will find a special one you love as well - no doubt! See my original review below. We came back because we really like Mellow Mushroom and my daughter who was in town for just a few days and really wanted this. This place has turned around 180 degrees. Service was quick with a big crowd. I had never had their calzone and it was huge and really good. The owner commented on my poor review last time and asked for another chance since they just opened and I want to thank her and let her know we will be back. We have been to several Mellow Mushrooms across the country and this is the worst. 1 hour and 10 minutes and counting waiting on our pizza. We waited 30 minutes to be seated but there were open tables all over. They have been open long enough to work out the kinks. We really like Mellow Mushroom but I think we will wait to we travel again to eat at another one. When the newness wears off crowds are going to go away based on the service. Did look pretty cool inside but they need to get their act together. By the way most of reviews are usually 4 and 5 stars so I am not just a complainer. read more

Mellow Mushrooms is one of the places that I always forget about although it has one of the best pizzas around. We were a party of 13 but our server sure made our experience better. If you're not really hungry nor am eater, don't order bigger than the small. We had the wings (both kinds) and were super tasty and juicy. Not dry and over cooked. Wasn't really thrilled with the Buffalo side, but the holy shiitake "my personal favourite"... Let me start with the freshness of the dough; it was exquisite! As soon as I bit into the crust, I could taste the authenticity and freshness of the dough. It was light yet chewy, and perfectly complemented the toppings. Speaking of which... It was loaded with various kinds of mouth-watering mushrooms, and each of them brought a unique flavor to the dish. The nutty and earthy taste of the shiitake mushrooms blended beautifully with the meaty flavor of the button mushrooms. The rich, velvety texture of the portobello mushrooms also stood out, in the pizza. But what brought it all together was the truffle oil. The aroma and flavor of truffle oil are unmistakable, and it added an extra layer of decadence to the pizza. It was the perfect amount to not overpower the mushrooms, but instead complement them beautifully. Overall, I would highly recommend this pizza to all mushroom and truffle lovers out there. Tonight I got my usual pizza, extra crispy thin crust, and it was so under cooked it stuck to the parchment paper in the box. The dough in the middle was so raw and cold I had to cook it longer at home. I kept trying to lift each piece thinking maybe it was just one bad one, and it was all the same. I had to use a pizza cutter to cut it again. I know my photo is a jumbled mess but it's basically how I felt lifting up each piece: thoroughly disappointed.
