I loved that they offer mocktail flights--such a fun and creative option, especially for those who don't drink. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which was just okay for me, but to be fair, I'm partial to Plank Road Pizza's version (which I think is the best, though theirs is on the smaller side). What absolutely stood out, though, were the Cloud 9 wings--hands down the best wings I've had in the area! Schlafly comes in second, but these were next level. Service was great, really friendly and attentive staff. The only downside was the number of flies--they were pretty relentless and made it hard to fully enjoy the meal at times. I went to Mellow Mushroom over a month ago with friends, and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. We placed our order shortly after arriving, and our salads came out as expected. But after 45 minutes, our pizza still hadn't arrived. We called the manager over, and she told us our pizza was only on the list to be made -- not even in the oven yet. Since we had somewhere to be, we asked her to remove it from the bill. In the middle of this, a food runner finally brought our pizza, so we asked for it to be boxed to go. When the manager returned, instead of apologizing or making it right, she told us that since we had technically received the pizza, she would only take 50% off. Not once did the manager or our server apologize for the delay, poor communication, or the inconvenience. Between the lack of service, the dismissive handling by management, and zero accountability, I will not be going back. read more

The kids were near passing out when they dove in. Almost simultaneously, they literally spit out the food and declared "it's cold". "no way..." Sure enough I took a bite and it was totally chilled. Like... fresh out of the fridge. Now, I'm not sure what MM does to prepare fresh, steamy hot Mac and cheese, but it doesn't seem to involve fresh steamy hot Mac and cheese. I'm curious how the cooks were trained. I'm now also curious just how "freshly made" the food is. I'd also like to know why it takes longer to serve cold Mac and cheese than it does hot. As for my sammich... The filling for this "sandwich" was about 1/4 " thick. Jimmy Johns #9 is 10x's fatter, tastier, and they're cheaper. I would recommend you steer clear of Magic Mushroom until they can get some people who know how to cook in their kitchens. I wish "N" all the best. Food is great but they are slow. If you order for pickup, just go in and sit down because it takes longer to pick up your pizza than waiting for a table. Also, they made a mistake on our order. That's okay. It happens. But they didn't tell us. We waited an extra 25 minutes for them to just offer us a small and a medium when we ordered a large. It's been years since I visited MM. Tired of the same old places, we ended up here. The two of us decided to share a couple of dishes. We selected the Stuffed Portobello and a Holy Shiitake pizza. The first dish was surprisingly tasty, warm on fresh greens and drizzled with vinaigrette. The pizza also hit the spot, and it's clear why it's so popular. The service was excellent. We have been to mellow mushroom a few times and have really enjoyed it. After a long weekend we decided to order takeout from them on Monday evening. They were running a special for medium pizzas so we ordered five. When we got home and open, the boxes, three of them were very badly burned on the bottom and the other two were moderate. It was snowing so we didn't want anyone going out to get new ones nor did we want anyone delivering new ones to us under the weather conditions. I called the restaurant and stated that I am not one to complain, and that we have really enjoyed their pizzas but this was beyond edible. They asked if I would like to speak to a manager and I said sure. Partially because I wanted to let them know if there was something wrong with their oven they needed to check before serving any more pizzas. After a few minutes of waiting, the girl got back on the phone and said she spoke to her manager and the manager offered us $15 coupon. The next time we came at that point knowing that the manager did not want to get on the phone and speak with us nor did they want to even refund half of what we spent that evening Became very frustrating and very disappointing. I told her that $15 would not partially cover what we ordered that evening and could not even eat. She said the manager would call me the next day which was yesterday and of course I heard nothing. The burned pizzas were one thing but to have a manager there and not even want to talk to me and then just throw out a $15 coupon... That started to go into the area of poor customer service. This is one of my favorite pizza restaurants. The pizza and the appetizers are all delicious. They have a nice play area outside, so the kids have something to do to keep them occupied, and the patio is lovely on a nice afternoon or evening. Earlier this past year, I had a jewelry party, and instead of inviting people to my house, I decided to invite them to Mellow Mushroom. I paid for some appetizers and everyone's first round of drinks, instead of having to clean my house for company and make a bunch of food. They have a room you can reserve that is perfect for events such as this one, and it made the whole thing even more festive than if I had done the work myself at home. Our party was assigned our own waiter, Gabe, who took extremely good care of our large party. He was personable and efficient, and we were in very good hands.
