I hate leaving negative reviews because Mellow Mushroom used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but unfortunately we had another really disappointing experience today. The service was awful from the start. Our appetizers came out, but we had to ask several times just to get blue cheese. Then we eventually realized our entrées had never even been put into the system. The food we did receive was cold, and after waiting so long with no resolution, we decided to leave. We offered to pay for the apps we had already eaten, but I will say the manager was very kind and comped them, which we appreciated. Still, this is the second bad experience we've had there within the past year, and it really bums me out because this place used to be a favorite for our family. I didn't remember how expensive this pizza bistro really was! It's a lot. To build your own pizza the charge for ingredients being almost $3 per topping is a lot. Then on top of the meats costing the equivalent of 2 other toppings it's just a lot. Then the size of the pie is disappointing. The pizza tasted really good that's true, the veggies tasted fresh. This place has gone downhill. Leaving this review March of 2025. The staff just stood around and did nothing. We waiting for 15 min before being spoken to and the place was dead. Five employees just stood around chatting and not doing anything. A lady named Shelby was the only one who helped us. My son is a hardcore pizza lover, so we knew that for his 8th birthday we had to take him to get some, so my husband recommended Mellow Mushroom, as he had been there several times himself. When we got inside, we were greeted by a very pleasant hostess and were seated right away. The ambiance is so cool, with lots of colors, posters, and even artwork on the walls made out of bottle caps. As you can see for yourself, there are practically limitless choices, whether you want to get one of the pies on the menu, or make one from a (very long) possibility of choices that are listed. My son ordered his own, with extra mozzarella, pepperoni, and mushrooms. My husband and I get the Veggie pizza (sans onions) every time we go. When it comes to appetizers, I HIGHLY recommend the meatballs. Adult beverages are also served at Mellow Mushroom, my favorite being their Sangria. IMHO, it's the best sangria I've ever had. The service is just as stellar as the food itself. We are always treated with kindness, courtesy, respect, and friendliness. Brio is our favorite, and we always look for her when we go. Disappointing. My husband and I were telling my mom (who was in town visiting) how every place in Fayetteville is packed on Fridays but for some reason Mellow Mushroom never is, which is convenient. Well, we soon figured out why; my husband was served a warm beer and it took almost an hour to get 2 small pizzas and a Caesar salad. I always liked their pizza, which is why I recommended going there, but the pizza had so much cheese it was hard to even eat and the Caesar salad looked like someone just stripped a head of lettuce and didn't cut it. As a long time vegetarian I've always had a deep love of mellow and this one didn't disappoint. We ordered online and it was pretty simple (don't close or leave the browser though- it restarts). You can even tip on there. We got a salad- enlighten spinach one. It was great- lots of cheese and nuts and the balsamic dressing was plentiful and delicious. Packaged well too. Ordered a side salad, had to send it back because the lettuce was wilted and slimy. Wait staff very nice and apologetic. No way I will go back to this location. I ate dinner at this Mellow Mushroom the other night (07/30/20) and I came with a party of about 13. I believe our server was Kaitlyn. The only thing that disappointed me in the slightest bit was that we had to sit at two separate tables. We made it work. I'm not even upset about it because rules were put in place for a reason and I am actually glad that they are implementing these safety measures. When there was a small issue with my order, my waitress was very understanding and fixed it in a heartbeat! All of the staff mewere wearing their masks as they should, the service was great considering how large my party was, and the food was great! It took a while for our server to come to us, and by a while I mean I had to go to the front and ask if they knew they had a table. Apparently our waiter was in the back and no one had told her. However, she turned out to be a good waiter although I can't remember her name cause I'm late with my review . Ordered the wedge salad, there were few blue cheese crumbles which was disappointing.
