Large salad

Interesting location with bright hippie art and plenty of seating. The staff were friendly and we got served quickly. The salad was decent but kinf of lacking in size and ingredients for the price. The pizza was ok. The crust is more whole grain flavor which I like but it gets soggy near the center. The toppings could have been cooked a bit longer. Overall ok spot.

Entry way

Cute spot in New Albany that is family friendly and has plenty of outdoor seating. We chose this for the certified gluten free option since we have a family member with Celiacs. She wasn't impressed with the crust - but it wasn't bad, just bland and a little tough. The regular pizza crust we had was perfect - chewy, baked right, tasty. You can watch them toss and stretch the crust in the kitchen. The Taco Nirvana beef pizza was excellent with a great spicy ranch drizzle. Could use a little more meat. We loved the Merry Prankster - the sausage is spiced perfectly and it has great herbed aioli. Service was friendly and prompt. We will be back.

Dog friendly patio!

Haven't dined at a Mellow Mushroom for a long time. This trip in we decided to do something different, we brought our dogs. Having two small dogs we decided to seat ourselves on the patio. Leaving dogs with my husband I went inside to let them know we sat ourselves, inform them we had two dogs with us and see if this was all okay. It was received very well by the staff. Hostess gathered menus and I showed her where we were The patio is narrow. Single row of tables wrap in an L shaped pattern. We were one of two tables in the front vs more along the side of the building. Zoe, our server soon came out. We discussed pizzas and learned they could make my favorite pizza even though it is no longer on the menu... however we decided to go with a modified current one. It was delicious. The crust is whole wheat salt water based... so you feel as if the choice to eat pizza is a bit more healthy. However the dough is billowy and not edge to edge so it has nice crust. They used a LOT of cheese which is a plus for taste but not for health... but this is pizza--- you really dont order that as a "healthy choice". We added the mushroom trio... there could of been a bit more of that for the upcharge but Id say there was a fair amount on the pizza. Zoe checked on us regularly and made our dogs comfortable by bringing them water and giving them praise and fuss. The pizza came out quickly which was nice as it started out pretty hot on the patio and the dogs weren't digging the heat. These dogs appreciate that always! The pizza was delicious. Cooked perfectly and left full and with half the pizza boxed nicely. All together it was an excellent trip in. Thank you staff of Mellow Mushroom for a great evening on your patio! Pizza was great!

Amazing pizza! Friendly service. Nice and quiet location. Would have to say that this place has some of the best pizza I've had in a long time.

The pizza was really good, the service was good, the restaurant was pretty clean. I really can't say anything bad about this place. The pizza was really good!

The pacific rim pizza on gluten free crust
Rebecca M.

I ordered the pacific rim specialty pizza on gluten free crust. The gluten free pizza only comes in a small so that's what I got. I omitted the jalapeños, which left mozzarella, ham, bacon, pineapple and caramelized onions. It was great! The next time I will definitely have them toast it more but I cannot complain at all.

Easily the best pizza chain in Columbus! Their pizzas always come out hot, fresh, and loaded with toppings--full of flavor in every bite. The menu offers a great variety beyond just pizza, with plenty of appetizers and salads to choose from. Service was attentive, and they have a solid drink menu to round out the meal. Ambience was quirky and lively, but also a good lunch spot with good deals! A go-to spot for a consistently great dining experience!

Brown salad

We used to love going to mellow mushroom but the last two experiences were terrible. We went on a Tuesday night and there were maybe 4 other tables filled but a lot of staff working. It took awhile to get our food and when the salad arrived it was brown and should have been thrown out. We were not given any utensils to share the large salad and no one to flag down to ask. When our pizza finally arrived it was cold! My glass was empty and no one got more water. We had to go up and ask to get host to get our waitress to get our check and a box. It was a very disappointing experience

Cool atmosphere!! I thought there would be more trippy decor but still dope! Food was great! And I loved the menus! The service was amazing! They a made sure we had drinks when they'd go half empty and made sure we were taken care of! Bathrooms were cool I liked the door handle!

Build your own

It's good pizza! I ordered the Koranic Karma, we also ordered a couple build your own pizzas. It's a solid, descent pizza. Way better then the local Eagle Villa Pizza. The inside is very eclectic, youthful and artsy. As for our server, he was good but very sassy.

Out of this world! A road weary mom, with three teenage kids in tow, stopped at this Mellow Mushroom to appease growling tummies. We were quickly greeted and seated. Drinks within 3 minutes, pretzel bites within 10 minutes. Our pizzas were hot, fresh and flavorful. Fantastic service. Very clean space, including restrooms. A definite winner!

Everything looked so good but we limited ourselves to one pastry each. Blueberry Gallete and Everything Danish were the winners. Great choices! The sugar sprinkles around the Blueberry Gallete put it over the top! There were so many blueberries you got a piece in every bite. The Everything Danish was good but was tad crisp. The chive cream cheese on top was so great I'm glad there was more than I would normally want. Drinks were good but took longer than we had hoped. There was only 1 barista but she was working hard with all the orders coming in. I enjoyed the latte art but sadly we got cold drinks. I enjoyed the offered seasonal flavors such as Gingerbread. I did notice that matcha was sitting in a carafe ready to go if someone was ready to order. Not sure how I feel about that as it can get clumpy waiting around. Seating can be a bit tough during peak hours. There are two communal type tables in the middle which are nice for larger groups. Outdoor patio seating as well but not on these colder winter days. Team was super friendly! Will come back again and actually enjoy a coffee and pastry there. Tip: Blueberry Gallete is soo flaky and buttery do not eat it in the car. lol. I got three huge flakes on my sweater as I took a bite. Well worth it.

ROTATION REVIEW: CRUNCHICK (First Visit)…read more Rotation Rating: Stays in Rotation -- Craving-Specific *When this place makes sense: When you're specifically craving fried chicken with real crunch and sauce-forward flavor and don't want to overthink it. This is a lean-in, two-hands kind of meal. *What I ordered: The SoyPapa Chicken Sandwich -- brioche bun, fried chicken thighs, soy garlic sauce, Swiss cheese, scallions, serrano. *Texture + cook: The chicken is very crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside -- passes the tender-ism check easily. The fry is spot-on and cooked exactly how you want fried chicken to be. *Flavor reality (clear comparison): The chicken itself isn't heavily seasoned -- if it's seasoned at all, it's subtle. Think Raising Cane's logic in that sense. The difference is execution. This is better than Cane's because the cook is excellent, the texture holds, and once the sauce is added, everything comes together in a more intentional way. *Sauce + build: The sauce is balanced, pleasant, and flavorful -- not overpowering. The ingredients actually complement each other instead of competing. *Bread check: The brioche bun is a chef's-kiss touch. It holds the sandwich together and maintains the integrity of the build without falling apart, which matters with a sandwich like this. *Portion check: The portion size is fair and satisfying -- generous without crossing into Good Burger-level Mondo Burger territory. Enough for one very hungry person, or easily shareable between two, in my opinion. Ambience + setup: Located inside Bubbly Hall, the space is casual and food-focused -- easy pickup or a quick dine-in without fuss. Would I order it again? Yes. And I'd be open to trying other sauces or menu items now that I know how their chicken eats. ‍ Bottom line: Crunchick does texture and fry quality very well. The chicken is neutral by design, the sauce brings the flavor, and the brioche bun ties it all together. Know what you're craving going in, and it earns its place in rotation.

Decided to try one. Took it and walked back to get my boba. The sample was so excellent I got my boba and returned back to shamefully get another sample. I know... thats not nice taking two... but the second sample was even better as I used a different sauce and decided this fried chicken was worth the calories and ordered the OG original crunchick sandwich. This sandwich was huge. Its menu write up say it is to have two fried chicken thighs but I found it to have a bit more. The chicken itself had a creat light crunch to it. The breading was perfect. Not too greasy, either. He said it had a secret sauce (that was like Cane's -but I didnt taste it as I doused it with the white garlic sauce... uh, YUM!). Plus pickle and lettuce were also on it. Delish! The owner takes pride in constructing the perfect sandwich, so it's wrapped nicely and the lettuce is placed so it adds to the presentation. I really liked the owner. Its always a plus that its a locally owned business. It seemed to be the busiest booth is the Bubbly Hall. I hope Crunchick does well as I feel the hall hasn't been embraced by the community, which is weird. Tbo. The hall just has a odd aesthetic, but not a bad one, just a weird use of space. It lacks something. However dont let that deter you as Crunchick will not disappoint you. Parking is free... park on the side closest to the hardware store as that is the side of the hall Crunchick is closest to. Ps: They have fries too... I didn't get them but when I saw them I wish I had. Next time!

I met the kitchen manager, and he told me about the class that he went to. He told me about how they prepare their sauce their oven everything about it and it was wonderful. The crust was tasty. The sauce was one of the better ones I've had in a long time. It wasn't just a red sauce out of a jar, it had pieces of the tomato in it and was very authentic tasting. The ingredients were fresh. I could smell the mushrooms from across the way, not a mushroom guy myself, but if you're into that, this will definitely be the place. My wife had the meatball appetizer because she really didn't want the bread, and she, being from Greece, focuses on how ingredients taste. They need to be fresh. They need to be more than just a filler to make up for something else. She wants to come back and just have this again. Great texture, the meatballs had flavor and work just ground beef. I'll put together like other places, this was a flavorful experience. She even convinced me to try a meatball sub next time we come. Which might be hard for me, because I like the pizza so much. There's plenty of parking in the back, they have specials and a happy hour as well. A couple of different beers on tap and a nice overflow area that's covered outside for larger crowds. I can definitely see us coming back sometime soon..
