Fell into the hype and finally tried this place out. We weren't the only ones as the line was almost out the door. The ordering went by quickly which is a huge win. Everything looked so good but we limited ourselves to one pastry each. Blueberry Gallete and Everything Danish were the winners. Great choices! The sugar sprinkles around the Blueberry Gallete put it over the top! There were so many blueberries you got a piece in every bite. The Everything Danish was good but was tad crisp. The chive cream cheese on top was so great I'm glad there was more than I would normally want. Drinks were good but took longer than we had hoped. There was only 1 barista but she was working hard with all the orders coming in. I enjoyed the latte art but sadly we got cold drinks. I enjoyed the offered seasonal flavors such as Gingerbread. I did notice that matcha was sitting in a carafe ready to go if someone was ready to order. Not sure how I feel about that as it can get clumpy waiting around. Walked in off route 62. Man, I need to remember to not do that as aesthetically AND functionally, this is not a good location for a doorway. Period. You enter right at the edge of the counter and there is usually a long line wueuing two this very location and that makes it very difficult to enter /exit at that doorway. Why is it even a door??? I beg to cross the ordering line to then walk way around the tables to get to the back of the ordering line so that I could stand in the long, slow line just to order a chai latte made with soy... Only to find out they only use almond and oat milk alternatives, not soy. so I left empty-handed. Lesson learned.... Multiple location around the Columbus area and Fox in the Snow is one of the best around the country. There are variety of pastries line up, along with some sandwich and coffee of course. My go to always be the strawberry diamond, but if you are up for a sandwich, you would definitely have to try that egg sandwich. The bread have a crispy outer layer along with slightly soft and chewy inner part. The fluffy egg omelet, with the bacon, arugula and that sauce, all just bind as a perfect egg sandwich. Having it with that with a cup of mocha and perfect finishing touch of the latte art. What a better way to start the morning with. Six of us attempted to try the Fox in the Snow in New Albany. We entered the location and were told it was closed. Unfortunately, one of the people in our party made a b-line to the bathroom. He's in his 70s and incontinent due to recent cancer treatments. We all tried to call him back but he just went in (because he had to). The staff yelled frantically like there was an emergency. It didn't matter; he achieved his goal and was in the restroom. We waited by the door. A minute later one of the staff came over, scowling all the way, and making strange faces that suggested he was beyond his limits. "We can't have you in here. We're closed," he growled. Maybe it was a tough day, but this was clearly too difficult for him to handle. We said, "no problem" and went outside to wait. I tried to crack a joke and the kid looked as if he was in pain. Then they locked the door. My father-in-law was trapped! When he finally came out one of the overwhelmed staff made the long walk from the counter to unlock the door. Why didn't they lock the door when they closed? They figured out how to use it when they locked my father-in-law inside. Maybe they just don't understand when to use the lock? We're not going back to this place. They were rude. There are so many other good options we're not going to deal with a staff that are weird and incompetent. read more

It pains me to write this as "Fox In The Snow" has been my favorite go-to Cafe since college, but the entire established quality has worsened tenfold. I worry about the other locations' state, but it is very clear the cafe is severely understaffed and overworked at this location. I came on a weekend, which is known to be busier, so I'll give them that but in the past, I remember the chaos of the store being managed better. The seating design is confusing and impractical as usual, with many patrons having to stand around and wait or awkwardly try to join an intimate table setting with others. The trashcans were clearly, overflowing to the point they started to smell when we went to throw our trash away. The water cups were completely out and to top it all off my pastry was stale. It seems they tried to overcompensate the staleness by piling on a ton of cream cheese icing, which did not help. I would love to see this place turn back around! read more

Fox in the Snow is a place I'm sure everyone in Central Ohio is familiar with, but I had never tried it until recently. I tried their matcha and the raspberry bun. The matcha was really well mixed and very refreshing. The raspberry bun intrigued me with its pink sugar. The texture was even better, it was almost like a croissant. The raspberry sugar helped it with sweetness but it wasn't overpowering at all. I would love to return and try more of their drinks and pastries! The only downside I would say is that the ordering process was a bit confusing on the day I visited. Yum! While visiting Ohio from Texas I wanted some good Midwest baked goods. Fox in the Snow has them in abundance. I actually enjoyed so much I visited twice during my short stay. You definitely must go early for the best variety. First visit I got the Apple crostata and jam filled biscuit. The crostata was soooo delicious I vowed to try to replicate the recipe at home. The jam filled biscuit is a monster. Butter packed pastry with a tasty strawberry or raspberry jam ( I can't remember) but it was also delish. I ate it a day after buying with a quick warm up. It's hard to describe because it has the flaky buttery texture of a croissant but it is very thick and heavy like a biscuit. Lots of butter soaked flaky layers. Did I say it's buttery? lol. Anyhoo, I went back and bought two crostatas to take home to Texas. I asked them to wrap them up well for travel. They didn't really try just added an extra tissue but that's ok. I wrapped it like a mummy in cling wrap which made for an interesting TSA check. But I got the crostatas home and reheated in the oven after putting in fridge for three days. My boyfriend loved them and they still tasted great! During my visit I noticed the space was filled with light and seemed cozy but I got my items to go. Staff could have been friendlier but I imagine they get up early each day and are probably done smiling by 8 am so I still give 5 stars. Keep up the good work team. read more

First, how can you go wrong when something is called Fox in the Snow? How cute is that? I have a dream of opening a crêperie called The Purple Goat. Names mean a lot when it comes to food establishments. For instance, Strawberry Diamond. Why yes, I would wear a strawberry diamond. I would also eat one. The Strawberry Diamond is one of my favorite things from Fox in the Snow. A fab puff pastry filled with vanilla custard, strawberry jam and plump strawberries. A light dusting of sugar granules makes it glitter. I also love the Blueberry Galette (galettes are never a bad choice). A perfect hexagon of dough filled with honey cream cheese and blueberries. Sigh. I can honestly say that I think this is one of, if not the best, bakery on Central Ohio. Get there early, they sell out of certain items (like the above mentioned) pretty quick. (My next visit I'm going to try the Morning Bun - a big fat croissant filled with milk chocolate mousse.) Not in the mood for sweets? You crazy kid. Fine, go for the egg sandwiches. OMG. As far as espresso goes -- I'm a snob. I'm from the northeast and while visiting the Columbus area tried most of the "great" coffee shops in and around Columbus. By far, the best espresso-based drinks I had were at this particular Fox in the Snow. I tried Staufs and the other "usual suspects" and they were fine. Coincidentally, Fox in the Snow uses beans from....a roaster in the northeast. :) Can't wait to go back next time I'm in town! read more

I am on my 3 week in New Albany for work and I have literally come here every morning. Every day I swear to branch out and then I just cannot pass this spot up. It's accessible by a little parking up front but has a large lot in the back. It's beautiful inside. The windows facing the road and patio make it bright and it's always spotlessly clean. The menu is spot on with a perfect combo of delicious pastries and breakfast items but also stays basic with only vanilla for the coffee and ready to go bakery items. The staff are always friendly and quick with service. You pick up your drink at the counter (calls your name) but they bring out the food items. Do not miss the egg sandwich - it's apparently the best in OH. Massive enough to recommend you get a knife and be ready for it to be a little messy but so very good. read more
