This was our first experience eating at this restaurant, and it will definitely be the last. In fact, we didn't even get to eat. We placed our order around 12:15, and at 1:18 we still didn't receive our food. There were tables around us that sat down way after we did that were getting their food. Including a table of 8. When i asked our waitress why it was taking so long, her only excuse was she can't control what happens in the kitchen. I had a feeling she forgot to put our order in. We finally just left. I called and spoke with John the manager. Sure enough, she failed to put our order in. Instead of admitting her mistake and doing something to fix the bad experience, she blamed it on the kitchen staff. All John could do is say he was sorry. No offer to fix the problem. Even after I told him we won't be coming back. I've worked in customer service for 24 years. Never would I not try to resolve a bad customer experience. Maybe you don't care that you lost a customer, but maybe you'll care that others will see this review. read more

GA Southern College Tour & Mellow Mushroom was dinner. Not the normal vibe of Mellow Mushroom, no lava lamps, chunky tables, funky staff... this felt like a colorful (and BIG) normal restaurant. It did smell like Mellow Mushroom, so that was the same!! We are use to the Suwanee Town Center location. Waitress was young & SUPER nice, very apologetic when she found out the new menu item, WEDGE SALAD was not available. She also got our pizza orders (both wrong) & my husband's salad was wrong. We didn't argue, not worth it. All their food is amazing & these were minor wrongs. Full bar looked big & lots of tables for good patrons to enjoy lunch or dinner. Located in a strip mall just off of the main highway/road... tucked back behind the Home2 hotel... cute little area back there. I've only utilized the curbside pickup. I've have the Veg-Out and tempeh hoagie. Both are decent. I wish the onions were cooked on the Veg-Out. It's pricey to switch out ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by the hoagie. With each pickup, it has taken forever to get my food. I do believe they waited to make my order until I arrived during one visit, as I waited over 20 minutes after alerting them of my arrival. I've also had to go home and put my pie in the oven for a few minutes to bake the dough more (the middle can be uncooked). I keep returning because I love MM's dough, I like that they have vegan options, and they're the only alternative to the other place in town w/ a vegan option. I can't say it's worth the price to visit frequently, however. The employees I've encountered are nice. Just be prepared for a wait if you order pickup. read more

Took my Dad out the other night while visiting. It was surprisingly not busy but under staffed. I know because our waiter announced that to us as we were seated. Visited mellow mushroom today for the second time (first time was in Arizona) for happy hour and dinner. We sat outside with our dog and the hostess wiped off the table for us when we sat down. Their happy hour included $1 bruschetta, pretzel, and meatballs so we tried one of each. The bruschetta was our favorite but we could have done with two toast points in our opinion. The red sauce on the meatball was room temperature but with it being $1 we couldn't complain. The mushroom pizza was amazing, it was hot and cooked well, although the crust was a bit thick. The bathroom was clean and staff was friendly. We really would have liked some music playing outside but overall everything was good and we will be back. read more

Walked in mellow mushroom today and the guy sitting at the bar was digging in his nose. I observed him while I was waiting for my order to see where he went after he left the bar area. He went to where they were preparing the food. He put some food in his mouth- I don't know where he got it from because I couldn't see over the partition. We were in Statesboro for a Dr's Appointment on Valentines Day. We agreed on MM for lunch before we head back home. It's usually our favorite place to eat when we can find one. We ordered a whole pizza, a calzone, pretzel bites and bruschetta. The pizza was good, kid approved. The calzone was very bland. The pretzel bites were burnt and the PBR cheese dip was super watery and barely coated the pretzels after dipping. The bruschetta was missing Feta and when I asked for it the waitresses response was "YOU WANT FETA??" Then she walked off, came back and said the feta was frozen and not edible at the moment. We were looking forward to some great food when we went to our Statesboro, Ga Mellow Mushroom. There wasn't much going on when we got there. A small pizza birthday party and another family sitting behind us as we waited to be greeted at the bar. We waited for more than 20 minutes before I got up and told a lady who I assume ran the place that the reason we were leaving was because we had waited so long without as much as a nod from a server, we decided to go elsewhere. The Pretzel Bites with Beer Cheese Dip is always to die for... and ordered the second we sit down! We have tried many things on the menu; however the Cheese Pizza is pretty much an automatic order for the table. Everyone has at least a slice or two in addition to whatever else. My husband is obsessed with the Sausage Fest Calzone. It is loaded with sausage, pepperoni and salami and served with the MOST DELICIOUS marinara sauce. Today we also tried the Pacific Rim pizza. The pizza was good, but the service was dismal. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine they were out of three of the beers I tried to order and when the glass of wine came it was skunked. So we ordered two different glasses of wine and they were out of those also, so strike three. The worst part of this is that our pizza came and we still did not have drinks. The waitress disappeared, and I had to get up to get the attention of the manager to get our drinks. This is the third time I have been to this establishment we find the food good, but the service sucks and the attention to service is not what this place is about. Quite busy for a Friday afternoon but we were able to get seated and taken care of fairly quickly. We ordered the hummus with pita bread which was very tasty. The warm pita bread was a nice bonus. We both ordered side salads and split a small house special pizza. I had the chef salad and the ham was a bit sweeter than i remember. The ranch was thick and creamy and the mushrooms were large and fresh. The salad was much larger than i remember a side salad being so i could've actually split a salad or just done without one because by the time the pizza came out i was almost full. The pizza was filled with toppings. Large chunks and cuts of bacon, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, sausage, ham, and pepperoni. Abby was a great server, bartender, and busser. It seemed as if she was the only one to have tables (Probably because we all chose to sit in the bar area. Most likely her section). It took us about 10 minutes to get sat while we watched servers talk and use their phones at the service station. We immediately could tell our server Abby was busy. Service was slow but she was attentive and working as fast as she could. What was so frustrating is the same servers never came away from the service station, or their phones. I'm a huge Mellow Mushroom fan, I've eaten at them in several different states, including the original location in the 70's. The restaurant was fairly empty but it was a Sunday night. We started with a new appetizer, not sure of the name but it came with a side of beer cheese. The beer cheese arrived with a hair in it, which we quickly pointed out to the waitress. She apologized immediately and in no time we had another order, hey accidents happen. We ordered the KOSMIC KARMA pizza and the quality was as good as ever. I've had pizza and wings from here and WOW is it good ! I have some allergies so I get the gluten free crust with dairy free cheese, extra marinara, and all the veggies and it's to die for. The wings are also amazing, the sauces are great. I've eaten in and the service was okay. The bartenders are always great, especially when picking up to-go orders but also when dining in. The restaurant has a great design and an efficient layout. It's great for families or college students just hanging out. If you're ever nearby, I definitely recommend stopping in ! read more

I love Mellow Mushroom. It's as good as it gets for Pizza outside of New York City. They have many different choices and appetizers. My favorite is the Bayou Bleu, but I'm a fan of any of their pizzas and calzones. They also have a terrific beer selection, although I was disappointed to find out they no longer participate in the "beer club". I visited recently on two different occasions; once solo at the bar, and once with my daughters. My bartender was "Princess Erin"; yes, I teased her a bit about this. She was very nice, attentive, and prompt. My server when I was with the kids was Sky. Also very sweet and attentive, even though they got busy due to a dance recital letting out (which she was aware of!). She was very sweet to my girls, a great server. Only thing I'll say negative is they do need some new TV's at the bar. I think there may have just been an ownership change, so hopefully they get to that, and get the beer club back. read more

May 5th 2018 our daughter graduated from Georgia Southern University. the ceremony and picture taking took longer then expected, and we lost our Reservation at another restaurant. We called and the hostess was so friendly and accommodating and said they could get our party of 17 seated and fed. Upon our arrival we were greeted with warmth and friendliness, the manager Robert was just great!, Bartender and Hostess's were great.
