This place is amazing ! It was kind of hard to find since there is a easy to find 1950's place right across the street. This restaurant is located in a shopping center. This is a 1950's style restaurant the cool thing is all the servers sing and they sing really good! I got a philly cheese steak which is honestly the best one I've ever had the meat was just so delicious I also got chili cheese fries . We also ordered the stuffed jalapeño peppers which were good as well. My husband and sons all got cheeseburgers . My older son got a vanilla milk shake which was huge and scrumptious my other son got a root beer float which was yummy too! This was the best place we ate in Branson ! The only reason this place didn't get a 5 is because their patty melt wasn't great. It was good, but not worth recommending. I didn't know what I was in for when my parents and I walked into Mel's while looking for a place to eat after church-- but it sure wasn't what I expected! I came for food, but was serenaded by each waiter who (to my surprise) doubled as a 60-90's hits singer. The talent at this place was actually impressive, but it was a little bit loud for what we were hoping for on a Sunday morning. I could tell my 66 year old father was getting a little uncomfortable when the waiters would sneak up behind him and sing in his ear or stand over our table making eye contact during several verses of a song. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining experience. It is a very lively restaurant that is family friendly and embodies the spirit of Branson entertainment. The food was pretty good. Such a fun diner. There are people walking around singing the entire time. They were really good too. We were first seated in the front room. Every time the door opened we got a blast of cold air. It was also very loud in the front room. We asked to be moved to a back room and it was lots better. The food was really good. My MIL loved her chicken fried steak. My husband had chili spaghetti. Been here many times on trips to Branson and have come back. The lady that checked is in was literally the most obtuse person I've ever come across. Gave her my info, listened to her tell me we had to be back in 5 minutes with the entire party or we would lose our place in line. So 5 minutes isn't really enough time to do much or to even wander around to shop. So I asked any idea how long it might be. "We don't guarantee any times, there are 16 groups ahead of you. I said okay, so about how long, not looking for a guarantee, just want an idea of how long we might have to wait. So like is it 30 minutes or more like 2 hours, was the gist of the question. "Input same canned response". What restaurant can't estimate their table turns in order to give an estimate. Maybe I just expect to much, so I guess we can just stand outside for 20 minutes or maybe 4 hours. Who knows? They should, but I guess that is way to much to ask, so as to not offend the check in person for trying to get a reasonable time frame. Apparently it was to tough to say probably less than 30 minutes. Which would have been totally acceptable. read more
