I climb a lot of ladders, and for the first time in several years I now have enough flexibility in my right hip to let me climb and descend symmetrically instead of like a gimp. I believe you can also get a milk toast type massage, but I appreciate a deep massage for my high mileage body. I work hard and do a fair amount of heavy lifting, so my muscles are need serious help. I had a lovely lovely massage with Anastasia…read more The set up is really nice -- she has a beautiful spacious room that's beautifully set, immaculately clean, nice music. I loved Anastasia's technique -- very unique -- she relies on her fingers and broad strokes and she manages to clear a lot of spine tension this way. I've had someone else use this technique before a long time ago and the problem there was that they were too rough and then my vertebrae would be sore. Anastasia is very intuitive and uses her hands quite well so you get just enough pressure to release the tension but nothing is sore. I like that she uses broad strokes and gentle finger movements to release pretty deep tension. She has a very flowy style, her massage is extremely relaxing. If you want to release tension but dislike massage styles where they ram the elbow as hard as they can in your shoulder -- Anastasia is for you. I also really like her work on the feet. Finally, the scalp work is amazing and I think she gives by far the best face massage I've ever had. She seems very caring, intuitive, and empathetic and the massage is both very light and deep. This is not a brute force kind of massage (which can have its place too), she uses her fingers in a very artful fashion and works with a lot of finesse, wisdom, and understanding. As others have mentioned, she seems like the nicest person too and seems to work very hard to make this a pleasant experience for the client. She seems like a very kind empathetic person that genuinely cares about her clients and an excellent massage therapist with a very unique, effective, gentle and sparing technique that still gets the tension out. The lady showed me to the room, said, 'take clothes off, face down.' Ok, standard stuff. Apparently she was not my therapist because I hear a man's voice. He is the one that is going to work on me; let your clients know what is going on. Zero communication. It's a little jarring when you are face down, and the person you think is going to be there, is someone else! I'm sure the person working on me was nice enough, but he left the room twice without telling me why. How unsettling! Once was to get hot stones that were not EVEN luke warm, and once was to get a hot towel to wipe off the house disinfectant-smelling oil he used on my back. I had to wash it off as soon as I got home. When he came back the second time, he left the door ajar, so anyone walking by might be able to see me covered in this weird 'half' sheet. No whole sheets, weird. I could certainly hear others talking since the door was open. So many times I wanted to end the massage because it was so awful. The guy, is he even licensed? Is this place licensed? He kept trying to cover my hair in a towel to keep the oil off-he spent several minutes adjusting that. Frustrating, when he could have been working on my back. The kicker: their sign that has been displayed on Eubank for more than a year states, "$50-one hour massage." When I went to pay, the bill was $64. I said, "no, your sign states..."-The lady said no, and showed me a chart showing different prices for the SAME ONE HOUR MASSAGE. (They have different pricing depending on the time of day. ) I told her that it was not fair because of their advertisement. She said since I was a first time client, that is was ok to do $50. Whatever. The price was $50, then a $3.00 service charge I wasn't expecting, and tax. I tipped a small amount and she had the AUDACITY to say that I had to tip 20%!!! I certainly did not. Their business name on my bank statement is 'Body Foot Spa Albuquerque NM' it doesn't even match the business name on the door and facade which is, 'Health Body Foot Spa, AND Body Foot...?'

While it is true that the sign on Eubanks says 50$, the website clearly says 60$ an hour. They did not skimp on the full hour and I was grateful for their professional deep tissue massage.
