I worked with Hana to be able to offer chair massage at a party we hosted over the weekend, and it couldn't have worked out better! Alex, one of Hana's partners at Melt Massage, came over a little early to set up on our lower, outside deck. He provided very thorough, 10 minute massages for as many guests as he could. We had a sign-in sheet for the guests, and I did my best to usher the next person down to him. Our guests were so happy with him! Many left with his card, promising to look him up in the future. I have enjoyed getting massages since I was a teenager, and I can honestly say that my treatment at Melt has left me more relaxed, centered, happy, and healed than I have ever been. I've been going to Melt Massage for three years and I truly admire how Hana Levin runs her business. She continues to make the whole experience personal and professional. You can book your massage online and even get an email appointment reminder. Hana checks in a day after your massage to make sure you're feeling okay. I admire her pre-massage consultation because everything you do physically and any medications or vitamins, your whole physical history affects your body right now. A body worker must know these things to give you the right treatment. Yesterday I had an amazing hot stone massage with Beth. My first. It was after an especially hard work out and I know that my lack of soreness today is thanks to her work yesterday. I so wanted to love Melt...my husband booked a 2 hour massage for me to ensure that I'd come out relaxed and rejuvenated. But my therapist seemed to run out of "ideas" after about 80-90 minutes, so there was a lot of meaningless repetition...really, how many times do you need to massage just my toes? I also found the overall experience a little less than relaxing - the therapist's style was more abrupt and vigorous, so more than once my head was almost dropped onto the table vs gently placed, and hands placed and removed abruptly, strokes very short and choppy. And sheets snapped into place. In the end, the therapist ended early and I was left not feeling relaxed...and feeling very disappointed. read more

I went in for a Prenatal massage last Saturday, my first visit. My sister had given me a Gift Certificate and said she heard great things about this place. I normally go elsewhere and love the place tremendously....but didn't want the GC to go to waste. Thank goodness I went, because this was one of the best massages I've ever received. My massage therapist was Adriana and she applied the perfect amount of pressure throughout the whole massage. Most people are afraid to apply firm pressure on me because I seem small and they don't want hurt me, but Adriana's firm pressure was perfect. Melt Massage is the very best place I know of to get a great massage in the Bay Area. I used to work there, and I know Hana has the highest standards for her therapists. Recently I was experiencing some neck, shoulders and legs/hips tension from too many desk hours, and mental stress of an upcoming job change. I've been a regular client of both Hana and Beth for either general or prenatal massage for some time. It's a testament to their skills that I have had no back pain, carpel tunnel, or other significant pregnancy-related aches this pregnancy (I'm currently 8 months along with my 2nd child). I highly recommend both of them as expertly trained and experienced, professional, and effective. The office location is conveniently located - I've always been able to park within one block, and the online booking system is efficient. Their styles are both very stress relieving, yet slightly different. With Hana I walk away feeling "re-calibrated" and "re-energized" and with Beth I walk away feeling "ultra relaxed" and "ultra rested." Massage by Sabrina was amazing. I came in with a lot of pain. She took the time to ask a lot of questions and talk with me about what I wanted. She tailored the massage perfectly to my areas of pain. She checked in and found the perfect pressure for each area. The Pain isn't all gone but I feel much less tense. Could feel the knots being melted away.
