Starting off the food was good, pizza was some of the best in the area. The reasons I'll not be back -service was extremely slow. They look to have on pizza oven for a large restaurant. -it was 15+ minutes till we were able to order. There was plenty of staff just standing around but no one offered to help the waiter. -Waiter never offered a refill on the drinks. -extremely small paper plates -way to much ice in the cups -The bacon cheese fries came out cool, with the cheese congealed (not stringy). -likely the smallest setting for hand towels in the bathroom. This is the spot--and this is coming from a Chicago native... I have daydreams about the beautiful drive from DC to Front Royal, hitting up the Rural King and swinging by Melting Pot Pizza on the way home. The crust is just perfect! (ask for it well done). I order the "All The Way" but sub the Mushrooms for Black Olives, like the Supreme ones back in the day. Staff is all ways on point and love to eavesdrop on their conversations to other staff members about their customers, it's too funny. Beer is always cold and very reasonably priced. Locals are just the best, real down to earth people, not the fake suburbanites on the outskirts of DC. This place is Old School. I don't think you'll find a Tesla insight around Front Royal. Oh, forgot to mention...cash and checks are the only forms of payment, leave your Chime cards behind! Take the drive, breathe the fresh air and enjoy some great pizza and beer! We stopped at the Melting Pot Pizza while traveling thru the area and a quick search of Yelp . We found the thin crust of both pizzas we tried , unusual for us .We were throughly impressed by the crispy buttery taste of the crust . I had a chicken Alfredo white pizza and my daughter had a pepperoni pizza . Both were excellent. The place was busy especially for 4:00 on Monday but the service was great . We were seated right away and our orders taken quickly . The servers were pleasant. This atmosphere is like a family sports bar with a limited menu. When we smelled the pizzas, we skipped the heathier option of a salad with chicken tenders and went straight for the carbs . Oh well , it's a holiday, diet tomorrow. I do wish we had not had the ice cream dessert. The serving of soft serve ( not ice cream) was not worth the calories. I would recommend this eatery to others. read more

I was very disappointed with the pizza. I live an hour away and bought only 2--a large All the Way and a small sausage and mushroom. My wife, who normally doesn't like pizza, LOVED it! So now I have to share it with her instead of hogging it all to myself. Gr-r-r-r-r-r. While claiming to be Chicago thin crust (or tavern-) style, I found it to be a bit more bland than Chicago (as one being born and raised there). Needs a tastier sauce or something. The crust, while a bit thicker than the cracker crust I'm used to in Chicago, was amazing. Having said this, I found it to be the best pizza I've had in Virginia, and I've travelled many miles to find good pizza (as a Chicagoan I love Chicago pizza). My friends and I came here after a day of climbing at Elizabeth Furnace. For a small town, this place actually serves pretty decent pizza. All the locals seem to like it too since it was crowded. Besides the mushrooms, which may have been from a can, the veggies were fresh and the toppings covered the pizza in its entirety. It was delicious and tasty. For a $10 pizza, it was pretty big. I was only able to finish half of it. My friend went safe and ordered the pepperoni pizza. It was simple, yet good. I forgot what my other friend ordered, but it was completely covered with olives. I'm not a fan of olives so I didn't try it. The pizzas were surprisingly good. It's thin crust so it was a little crispy at the bottom, which is good. It had a good ratio of cheese to sauce. The food was okay, wasn't that great but good enough to get us going. It was a little bit pricey for the small pizza that we had got, minding that it wasn't really that great in taste($13 something). We had also got reg fries ($4 something) and cheesy fries ($7 something). The cheese is the type of mozzarella that is a little rubbery. We needed to get home quickly, and it took me asking 2 people and about 10-ish minutes to finally get our check. They also didn't give me a receipt, that I wanted, I was in a rush so we just left.
