Breakfast wrap is very tasty! BUT the staff (old man, probably the owner?) was kind of racial person. I am Asian, so he just weren't friendly. This is a cute little cafe tucked away on Melville Street (hence the name of the cafe lol). I stopped by this cafe on the way home and decided it was a good idea since I had been up early and I considered it to be lunch hour (mind you it was actually 10am). This cafe was open early and had all the bells and whistles of a mom and pop joint. This included freshly squeezed juices, breakfast, sandwiches, pasta, snacks, and desserts! This is a cafe that truly makes you feel welcomed. They even call you sweetie and honey if that's your style. I ordered the veggie sandwich and added chicken. A not so veggie sandwich but I couldn't resist. There is room to dine in but it looks like a more on the go spot. I would recommend this cafe for all the business workers who like a healthy lunch Togo. Only downside was they charged me 3 dollars to add chicken when a sandwich with chicken was 8 dollars. In total my sandwich totaled 12 dollars, definitely on the pricier end. read more

I love the customer service here, the couple that own the place are so sweet. I only come here for the soup but it's packed at lunchtime so I assume everything else here is good too. A good, basic pasta place. I thoroughly enjoyed my spaghetti and meat sauce. And the garlic bread was pan- toasted, giving it a perfect caramelized crunch. Don't come for the decor. It's bare bones. But most of us don't care as long as it's clean. My only gripe is that I was still hungry afterwards. It's a mostly carb dish, with not much protein. One of the best sandwiches that I've had in a LONG time! Ordered an Egg Sandwich (6.00) and oh gosh..it was definitely filling. The multigrain bread was warm and crispy and it was packed full of ingredients, from lettuce, to tomatoes, a ton of hard boiled egg, and even a pickle! When all was said and done, was definitely ready for a food coma... But wait, I foolishly decided to try their soup too thinking the sandwich may be small! I got the small Lentil Soup (2.00?), which while usually 3.50, was only about 2.00. I guess if you get a soup and sandwich, it's cheaper than if you got the soup by itself. It had a lot of lentils in it and tasted a lot like cumin. The sour cream blended nicely with the bits of hot sauce on top. Would definitely come again for their lamb sandwiches! read more

Doesn't get much better than $9 (tax included) for fresh, delicious, amply-sized, and quickly prepared pasta. Includes garlic toast. I'm a particular fan of the spinach ravioli. Skip the coffee (watery) and baked goods (always tastes a few days old and bought from Costco), and just enjoy the pasta bliss. Went here because the reviews are pretty good. I had a the turkey sandwich. It was good, no complaints about the food, but for the price, you're better off going to Breka a few blocks up Bute street. You get better value for your money there. For the price you pay at Melville you should at least get a bag of chips with your sandwich. read more

Woke very early today. This was probably the only place nearby that was open. I didn't eat dinner the night before so It is easy to say that I was craving something warm to eat. I was in the mood for soup and sandwich. Unfortunately soup wouldn't be ready for like 20 min they told me. I was saddened but I still ordered something. I ordered ham croissant. He asked if I'd like egg. I said yes. He upgraded my croissant by adding the egg for Free. HE warmed my heart by doing that. I am still eating it as I type this, but I felt the review couldn't wait because this is the BEST chicken noodle soup that I've had since moving out of my mom's house over ten years ago. It has so much flavour! The cilantro (or what I think is cilantro...?) adds a really nice kick to the broth and the bread that was served with the soup was perfectly soft and toasted. This is a cute little cafe in downtown. It's clean and staff is very nice. I had Kotlet sandwich which was crispy and very flavorful. Kotlet is a patty made of ground lamb, potato, carrots, and spices. The sandwich comes with fresh veggies and a very tasty sauce. I had a side of lentil soup which was rich and perfectly seasoned.
