Awful hospital. Most of the staff are rude and condescending with a small handful of actually kind and caring people. Every time we have went it has gotten significantly worse. It's like they know they don't have to improve because it's the only ER around and people have no choice. They put me in the contamination shower room that had only a bed and a chair. No table, no call light, no tissue, no monitors, nothing. Went at least 3 hours without a single person checking on me (again no call button). Left without anyone going over my test results. Watched them not replace used bed linens and keep the same gown on the bed for 3 different patients in the room across from me. Dirty, rude and horrible patient care. read more

The hospital itself is actually quite nice and I have no real complaints for that aspect of it. This review is for the long term care located on floors 5 and 6. My mother was in this place for four years before passing away. When she entered the place she was evaluated by the doctors who knew then that she was suffering from Pulmonary Fibrosis and was terminal. However, they never told us, the family so we had no idea she was on borrowed time. They later claimed they told her and us but that was a lie. My mother had no idea she was dying which left us with no time to prepare or to make sure we had life insurance lined up. Some of the staff was very nice and went out of their way to take good care of my mom. However, some of the staff was very rude and mean to her. My mom was very unhappy for probably the first year up there because of the bad treatment. She finally got her own room and things got somewhat better but there was still some rude people to deal with. The activities director especially was so nasty. I don't know her name but she was in her thirties with reddish curly hair. When my mom died and I went up to pack up her things this woman was so horrible to me, not caring that I was grieving. I hope she doesn't work up there anymore. My advice to anyone with a parent or loved one up there is to make sure you are super vigilant so you know what goes on. Don't think they will keep you informed because they won't. You need to be super pro active to protect your loved ones. I will say that as my mom was dying the staff in the critical care was amazing and so was Hospice and so were the handful of long term care workers who gathered around her bed as she passed. Had severe food poisoning and had to call my first ambulance, paramedic gave me a anti-nausea as I had been vomiting every 10 minutes for 5 hours. By the time I arrived to the ER here I could feel the meds helping and the paramedic said I must get hydrated. Took me to the vetting room for info but I couldn't talk hardly because my throat was dry, I muffled I need water she said NOPE I walked to the sink a gulped water in front of her she said go to waiting room for your punishment I said NOPE. I walked out only because the anti-nausea was helping. I will never go back to this torture camp read more

Best care ever. Came in E.R. for a bruised sterim from a fall. They did everything to make me comfortable. They transferred me to 2nd floor where everyone was wonderful. I stayed there a week then transferred to long term care facility on the hospitals 4th floor which runs separate from the hospital. I have Bulbar ALS and need round the clock care now. I couldn't have asked for a better facility. Every single person treats me with kindness and dignity. Food is great also. read more

My name is Christina Widing-Kendall and my husband was at Memorial hospital for a toe infection and never made it home. He was neglected and I was told a huge fabricated story on my husband's death. I find it absolutely disgusting that 3 adult professionals would conspire to lie about a man's death, but thats exactly what happened. The doctor that lied through his teeth got a slap on the wrist. Not only did they lie to me but to the medical examiner as well. I know Memorial follows these reviews and their advice is to go to the patient advocate. Been there done that, doctor got a slap on the wrist and I'm left feeling like my efforts were completely in vain! Memorial is graded C and their reviews everywhere you look are horrible. My advice, just go somewhere else, it may save your life........LITERALLY! read more

-0 is the rating that I would give Owosso Memorial. Staff ok but the doctor in charge of my elderly father basically used drugs off label and in massive amounts. Within a day he could not talk, walk, and was now in a diaper. He died days later. I have to assume some responsibility as I allowed myself to become intimidated even though I knew the treatments effects that I seen with my own eyes were damaging. I just kept being told "give it time". Please trust yourself, DO NOT take your parent there. They exterminated my father and that I will have to live with for the rest of my life. K read more

The staff is so very nice but memorial has the worst put together ER I've ever seen. They call me back and apparently people had been waiting for 6 hours prior. They kept calling people into the wrong rooms and said they had too many patients for the nurses on staff. Not what I want to hear as I'm in awful pain. They get me to a room with no equipment. I was expecting an IV as I was very dehydrated but nope. I asked for water and none was brought, they offered me nausea meds 3 separate times yet never sent them in. I went in because of SEVERE back pain and I got absolutely NO pain medication. Why not send some people to urgent care or a different ER? Why in the WORLD would you have sick people waiting for hours. Ridiculous. All my visits have been negative. Except for the nice staff. read more

Not once, not twice, but three days in a row, my brother's wife was taken to the emergency room by ambulance. She was diagnosed with the flu each time and sent home (she had disability insurance, not so good insurance). She never had a chance to return a 4th time. She died on the fourth day. I left Owosso 40 years ago, and I have always heard the same two things about Owosso memorial. 1. It's better to die in an abulance on your way to Flint than it is to go to Owosso Memorial and 2. You check into Owosso Memorial, but you never check out. Not just my experience but all the Yep reviews, tell me something needs to be done about that hospital. read more

DO NOT GO TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE WHEN THE FILIPINO IS WORKING! she told me my daughter was not allowed to be seen because I had my other daughter (2 years old) with me. Apparently my two year old is a support person (WHO LEGALLY MUST BE ABOVE THE AGE OF 16 TO BE A SUPPORT PERSON) for my 3 year old to have her knee scanned. When I called the pediatrician who is on the other side of hospital they thought it was the most ridiculous thing they have heard of! I LOVE my pediatrician but the filipino working the registration desk is an idiot! Hopefully shes not there tomorrow when I go back for my 3 years scan without her 'support person' read more

I was admitted to their Behavioral Health Unit. It seemed helpful in the beginning but due to a sudden shortage of staff, things went downhill fast. I understand things may come up and the staff that was actually present tried their best, but that situation affected many patients who were trying to recover and get better. My insurance company was paying for me to basically sit in a room and color. I was recommended to go there because I was told I would receive results in affective therapy. Other than group, we all just sat in the community room and stared at a wall. I left feeling like it was a waste of time and like I had received no help in my situation. Was very disappointed and wished I had gone elsewhere for the matter. read more

Warning: Deceptive and predatory billing practices! I went to urgent care there and saw a (doctor/PA?) and received an injection for an allergic skin reaction. The visit actually seemed good. I was in and out in probably 30 minutes. Leaving the appointment room, the receptionist at the desk told me the total price for my visit, and told me that they give a new patient discount, a discount for not having insurance and another discount if I pay in full today. She gave me the total and I gladly paid in full what seemed reasonable for a visit and injection. I left satisfied and would have come back in the future. Two weeks later I got a bill for a remaining balance which was as much as I had already paid. Calling their billing number, I was informed that the price I was given was just an estimate and this was the amount that I owed! I will never recommend or use any Memorial Healthcare facility again! read more

This hospital is a joke! They seem to care more about the interior design than the actual patients. Only reason that they are getting a 1 is because there is no 0 option. I went in for sever pain in my abdomen. They kept an IV in my arm for over 3 hours without ever checking in on me. After complaining 3 times about the wait I was finally told that my nurse was on lunch and that my doctor was too busy to see me. After blood tests, an x-ray and an exam they still could not find the root cause to my pain. Then they sent me off with some ibuprofen. When I asked for something stronger they implied that I would misuse the drugs when I have never been prescribed a pain pill in my life. I was never loud nor did I become disrespectful in any manner. I swear that this is the most careless group of people I have ever come across. When I asked for a second opinion, they refused and dispite them saying that they were sending the triage to help they lied. They lied about another doctor coming in to see me. They also lied about them contacting my primary with an early appointment. I'm still in pain while writing this and it hurts my soul to know that people like this actually exists. Regardless of whatever response they may post on the reviews after this comment please don't be fooled. They do not care for their patients. They merely are in it for the fanatical gain. I will never return to this ER even if my life depended on it, because at that point I would be as good as dead. read more

I have had 3 different negative experiences with 2 different doctors there. I had one favorable experience with a 3rd doctor there. Two bad experiences I consider incompetent and the other arrogance. read more
