Memorial Hermann Southeast played a critical role in saving my mom's life, and our family is incredibly grateful for the care she received there. My mom was transferred there from a rehabilitation facility after experiencing a medical emergency. The team acted quickly and immediately placed her on life support. The ICU nurses were beyond amazing. They took incredible care of her and kept our family informed. Nurse Dani and Nurse Ye provided extraordinary care and compassion during one of the most frightening times of our lives. After several weeks in the ICU, she was moved to a regular room on Floor 1, where most of the nurses provided great care. There was one instance where a nurse on floor 1 was not as attentive and did not recognize that my mom was becoming unresponsive after we expressed concerns. My mom took a turn for the worse and was moved to Floor 2, though the transition was not clearly communicated. Thankfully, Nurse Ben and another outstanding nurse on Floor 2 immediately recognized that my mom needed urgent attention. A team of nurses and doctors responded quickly, stabilized her, and transferred her back to the ICU, where she was placed on life support again. Once again, the ICU team provided exceptional care and helped bring her to a full recovery. When she was finally ready to transition to rehabilitation, the hospital made sure everything was in place to ensure a safe transfer and that she would have what she needed. This hospital showed compassion, urgency, and professionalism throughout her stay. We are forever grateful to the nurses and doctors who cared for my mom and treated her with dignity. While I visited relatives in Pearland, TX I became ill and was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital South East. Staff members were attentive, my medication was dispensed in a timely manner, but I did not understand why I was placed in an observation ward vs. an actual hospital room - I guess it was more economical! The patient restroom was always clean and the food servers and house keepers were mannerable and nice also. Dr Miranda was superb in explaining my diagnosis. I'm 75 years old and broke my feamer up next to my hip. Dr Garza, my surgeon was great and very personal. I was on the second floor. The nurses, assentents, lab workers, everyone who attended to my care were, kind, professional, attentive and over all caring. About 90% of the time when I asked for something I got it pretty quickly unless they were crazy busy. Food was really good with lots of options for each meal. read more

That was so helpful for me and I needed some good coffee too keep my eyes open. For parking, come early. Spots get taken quickly. read more

Im making this review because this is the 2nd time this has happened but today I took my grandmother to the ER and for the 2nd time they sent us home with an IV and finger monitor still attached. This is absolutely ridculious and after spending 4 hours at the ER Im not going to make another trip to have them remove it so now I have to remove an IV myself and hope for the best. If you want a Dr that is not only unfriendly, that you have to tell to "be kind", that's difficult to understand , that when you ask a question he tells you to "ask a nurse"...he's the fellow for you. His bedside manner is unbelievable. I left by ambulance and went straight to the medical center. Thank GOD!! If I could leave less than one star, I would. My niece went in due to pregnancy complications - her primary doctor is at St. Joseph's. We gave the doctor her primary doctor's phone number and he called. After talking on the phone, we asked what was said. He gaves us a dirty look and said there is an infection (which we already knew). They gave her morphine for pain even though no one gave consent. We went in late, and I understand that people get antsy at night, but if you have a problem with that, you probably shouldn't be in the medical field. Long story, short, the staff was extremely rude and didn't seem to care what we had to say. They wanted to prescribe antibiotics which went against her primary physicians guidance. Brought my mother-in-law here who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. They stuck us in a family waiting room and forgot about us. We had to hound them to get her nausea and pain meds. She has been laying on a couch in this waiting room for going on 9 hours now. My husband contacted the administrator of the hospital and she was rude and just said well we have a full hospital. It's about me..... Regina Pippins Today, I continue to give praises to God Almighty the most high in my life. Nine years ago on January 21st I had a Cardiac Arrest in my main artery (widow artery). 100% blockages which caused my heart to stop at home, while in the bathtub. My husband Torey and cousin reacted quickly to help save my life. (CPR).... Fully thankful for her and him always. (Laquaine Grant) Eventually, after two uses of the defibrillator from our neighborhood paramedics team they found a heart beat. ............ The best Cardilogists and Nurses at Memorial Hermann took good care of me. In a coma for 4 days and out of the hospital on the 7 day was the most highest blessing Jesus Christ ever could have given me on Mercy and Grace. I lived to see another day. In 2018, (February) God blessed me and my husband with a beautiful baby girl .... (Bubbles ) only 1 pound and 13 ounces.... I was 43 years old with my first child. In that same year, I had my second Heart Attack in October. 3 more stents added to the first two stents from 2015 year. Blessed and praises to God for saving my life again. Grateful to Memorial Hermann Team again. I have Advanced Heart Disease, which is hereditary in my family. This caused me to have a third heart attack in May 2020. Two more stents placed in my heart and now completed with a total of 7 stents overall. 7 is a good number spiritually, and I was born in July, the 7th month. So I take this as a completion... my heart is healed and I'm grateful. I will forever be grateful and tell my testimony over and over again. God blessed me in many ways and I'm not worthy but he has work for me and my testimony is a part of his works. The doctors and nurses are fine. There is an older African American woman who works at the information desk as you come into the main lobby of the hospital. I have encountered her three times now and she has behaved badly each time. First time...I was in the hospital building and needed to be directed to the office building. She pointed to the right and said in a very sarcastic tone,"The OFFICE building is over there!" I was so startled by her comment that I had to go outside and sit down for a minute. Second time...I have hearing aids. I asked where the vascular surgery offices were. She said, "Over there". I did not hear her and asked her to repeat. She YELLED "Over there!" Third time...I couldn't figure out where I parked my car. I was standing in that same lobby and she just stared at me. Did not ask if I needed help. Mind you this is the first person that most visitors encounter...and this reflects on the whole hospital system. read more

Type of care because doctors in here don't care about their patients, I came in on Friday 10/11/24 for abdominal pain, vomitingand, The Dr Safi Madain MD, he diagnosed me with gastroenteritis,hypohosphatemia and diabetic ketosis, he discharged me the same day I went home. On Saturday night 10/12/24 I was back to the ER with the same problem abdominal pain but the diagnosis this time is a diabetic ketoacidosis because the previous doctor didn't have a little bit more time to for a better diagnosis and now I been here since Saturday night and still not taking care of me well, they always blame on you but what about when is bill time they are very sharp collecting their money and if you don't pay a collect agency will contact you for theirs money. A medical bill is not cheap is very expensive and still not taking care of you. read more

This is the worst memorial Herman there is. I would never come back. I was brung my EMS for a very high fever, high heart rate and very bad migraine. It took them 30 to even but me in triage, I kept asking for medicine that took another 2 hours and I'm currently sitting here waiting for an IV. This is ridiculous! No sense in time at all! While I was in the waiting room I went the the restroom and found a woman stuck in a wheelchair crying about how the nurse had left her in there by herself for over an hour and she had peed on herself because the nurse said she'd come back to help her but never did. I was laughed at while I was crying over my fear of needles and having an IV put in. I was also told to "calm down" and that it "doesn't hurt that bad" by a technician while she was performing an ultrasound on me and was pushing down on my ovarian cyst. I will never return here. I was by no means treated with the compassion this establishment claims to have, I was ridiculed, I was made fun of, I was given no kinds of kindness or empathy. read more

Where do I even begin... there's way too many AWFUL things that happened when my husband was admitted to their ER (the first day) and then to their hospital the next 3 days. ER wait - minimum 9 hours. Yes, expect NINE freakin hours to actually be seen by someone. Hubby got there at 8 pm, finally got a room at 3 am. And there's people waiting a lot longer than he did. Food - DISGUSTING. As my hubby's roommate said "this food should be motivation for all of the patients to leave this hospital ASAP". Nurses - LAZY. Hubby's roommate, an elderly, actually finally threatened to pee on the floor if any of the nurses come after 10 mins of them buzzing and requesting for their assistance. Hubby had to text me a couple times to call his nurse so he can also be assisted with the endless beeping of a malfunctioning bedside machine. Doctors - while some of them were good at the time they spoke to my hubby, NONE of them STILL had any answers as to what's causing all the symptoms. The WHOLE hospital - USELESS. Hubby needed a note from the hospital confirming the dates of admission. They will NOT provide it. They do NOT respect the rights of the patients to that information. Hubby's employer required the doctor's note and nobody (not even any of the 4 doctors he's seen) will write it up. What a waste of time and money. There is ZERO care in this facility. ZERO. My 81 y/o aunt with severe COPD was taken to this ER today at about 1pm. She was having severe difficulty breathing. She had blood drawn including arterial blood gases, a chest x-ray, and a breathing treatment. She is on her way home now, about 8-9 hours in the ER. Her daughter remained with her throughout her stay, and said that NO doctor came in to see her until 10 minutes before discharge. Her white blood count is elevated. They were told that it looks like she may have pneumonia in the lower lungs, but she was not given an antibiotic in the ER, only a prescription that she can't get until tomorrow. The doctor never put a stethoscope to her chest, what kind of assessment is that??She says she still "can't breathe." I would not take anyone there, go somewhere else!! read more

My wife had something done there yesterday. Everyone I came in contact with seemed extremely capable. This might not be in practice, but as far as communicating with the patient and loved ones, I felt very at ease with the level of care that my wife received. From the nurse that greeted and brought you from the waiting room, to the anesthesiologists, to the surgeon, and the other nurses, everyone was very top shelf, engaged, and organized. I practically grew up in this hospital on account my mum used to work here night shifts and day. When no one was available to watch my siblings and I we'll be here roaming the hallways and sometimes just sitting in the break rooms. Well, I've had many experiences with this hospital. I've been a patient a couple of times as my childhood is vivid of my lengthy hospital visits in Houston. Due to HIPPA laws, I can't enclose my reason for being a patient here, but I can say I was treated with compassion. It's a rumor that hospital food is beyond gross and nothing like home cooking, not sure who came up with such lies, but hospital factual evidence is that the food of majority hospitals I've stayed at were delicious and freshly made daily. This hospital has a wonderful volunteer program where they actually let you choose what area you are interested in and applying to it, you'll have to attend orientation first. If you volunteer long enough, they'll give your free gifts for appreciation. You also get $6 worth of free lunch and breakfast when you work, though if you go over $6 you do have to pay the difference..what's fair is fair. Volunteers do get free parking too. Very friendly line of nurses here. I know most of the older line of nurses since my mum becomes friends with some of them. When they see me, they notice how big I've grown from when I was a kid to when I'm an adult. Over the years, the exterior has grown bigger. There used to be a ramp leading to the back of the building; we use to love driving up and down it. Though, they removed that part. Ashely R., isn't familiar with this hospital. This isn't Bayshore where they leave you alone and don't care about you. The staff here actually cares for your wellbeing and works hard to fix whatever issue you are dealing with. Also, if you are looking to apply here you must not be a smoker because they stopped accepting smokers for the job and for a nursing career you will need to have a bachelor's degree. The parking lot is huge!! There is a track in the front off of Beamer Rd., and a pond with a fountain. Turn on Astoria to get here; not into San Jacinto school. read more

Came into the emergency due to an EMERGENCY! Fairly busy Monday night 6pm Well I waited 3 hours to see a doctor! But that wasn't my issue The front desk ladies are a joke steady talking texting making jokes eating flirting giving attitudes to anyone that comes and asks questions yelling and talking down on the patients that do ask anything... one particular girl was not wearing her mask properly no gloves nothing but they are very strict about the covid rules ! Makes no sense the front desk staff is very u professional rude and unsanitary; the nurses and medical staff however are very helpful and accommodating, explained everything in detail and even offered me snacks I was there from 7pm to 1am on a Monday night be prepared to wait (alone) for a long time read more

I was given a lymphoma test and they refuse to release the results until I first go over the bill. The money comes first and my health is secondary to them. That's totally messed up. Now, I'm going through the Harris Health System after 5 months of not knowing whether I have cancer or not with ongoing health issues. So, they'd rather me get more sick and possibly eventually die before releasing the information even to my primary care physician unless I discuss billing. Wow. What an amazing place and that was after they were treating me for other things than what I went there for so it seems they only want to work with what they have limited knowledge to help with and then keep secret what they have that they can't help you with until you pay them. This hospital is the exact problem of what is wrong with America's healthcare. We're a country that cares first for the money and would rather let it's people die before getting paid. Okay so update the pain physician after being requested three times to come see me has not and then cut back the minimum amount they was giving me even less The nursing staff. Some of the people and groups are excellent above. Excellent. Others are incompetent to say the least. I have no idea how this is here. I went down to get some fresh air. I had to wait for somebody to get here because they don't have wheelchairs that you can move on your own. They have to be pushed one into an elevator. Does look like it was falling apart inside door panels coming off. They're no care to make it look right or even safe. Again, run fast run far. Do not come to this hospital. You are treated with no respect. I am thinking of getting attorney to get some paint and suffering especially for my admittance night when they walked out of the room and didn't even help me. Oh I also forgot that my brand new Google pixel buds pro vanished. Pretty sure they were left on a meal tray and when I came back from physical therapy it was gone along with my pods. They said they checked in lost and found I'm but of course there was nothing there. $200 pixel buds gone in 10 minutes. Nice!!! read more

Excellent care at the IMU third floor -3A. All nurses and aids are very focused on giving quality care. Very different from Methodist TMC where they whitewash your complaints so to keep their staff happy! Don't know why they even bother with patient liaisons??! This Memorial SE is small enough to find a parking without fees and big enough to have good quality doctors... much appreciate their care and Nephralogist Dr. Osborn who is always there to discuss and review dialysis treatments for my husband to ensure sufficient fluids pulled for him.
