So this Chinese supermarket specializing in Asian items and also Central-American items ----…read morebecause a lot of their customers are Central-American immigrants ---- is 100% Chinese: all the staff are Chinese. They're not going to chit-chat with you about the latest news story in the New York Post. It's pure business: you walk in, if you want seafood that's still swimming in the tank, or, if you want fresh vegetables which aren't sold at Key Food, then, this place will pretty much have it. Other than that there's lots of Instant Ramen ---- from Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Vietnam ---- and lots of spices from both Asia and the Caribbean. And a "Goya" section too. Oh, Kimichi, did I mention Kimchi in glass jars? And yes, they do have basics ---- milk, eggs, cheese, meat, cat food. A great little addition to the Bronx, well worth a visit. A lot more interesting to wander through and see some interesting imported items you might want to buy; more fun than Key Food. Well worth a visit.

I love this supermarket. I rarely stop by here as it is out of my way to come here. But, when I do,…read moreI behave like a little girl in a candy shop. There are so many variation of food. This last time that I went, I got hard to find food products. I got frozen jute leaves for my Haitian friend. I got dried taro leaves for my Filipino co-worker. I myself got: bamboo leaves, frozen banana leaves, frozen bitter leaves, preserved duck eggs, fresh water chestnuts and tons of spices. I bought some meat from the butcher section and the guy sliced the meat up to my request. They have bones for soup. I saw durians, banana flowers, sorrel flowers, two types of bitter melons(the Asians and the Guyanese type), etc etc. They have Mexican products, Indonesian, Thai, Malaysian, Filipino, Indian and of course Chinese products. There is a huge variety of products to make dishes from at least half of the world. It is a typical Chinese grocery store. The aisles are clean and stocked with a lot of items. For example, the noodle aisle is 1/4 full of all types and width of rice noodles. So for those gluten free people, they will think that they are in heaven. They have other types as well. At the time, I was interested in getting noodles to make a few bowls of pho...therefore the bones and meat for it. They also have mushroom oyster sauce for the gluten free people. I digress. Anyways, give this supermarket a try. Don't get deter by the fish market with fishy smell when you walk in. If I were the owner, I would have put the fish shop in the back. BUT, what's done is done. Enjoy!

They also have a lot of food necessities and household items. Their flower section is inexpensive and not bad at all - a good place if you want to pick up some everyday flowers for your lady or mom. They'll make fresh bouquets of roses for you if you can find someone. They've always had the 2 registers in the middle of the store which caused 2 lines forming. Now, the cashiers are in the corner and the bright customers can never figure out how to form a line or two. People are all over the place, blocking aisles, and cutting each other off.

This place is a trip…read more First of all, there is no front wall. Now, I'm sure commercial landlords are used to tenants asking them to rearrange window and door placements on the street front, but to pull down the front wall entirely? I don't think I've ever seen that before. So... needless to say, this place never closes! There's always a really huge selection of fruits and vegetables out front (hence the name of the store, I think) and they're all really reasonably priced, if not downright cheap. Other than that, it's just a really large bodega with an unusual selection of herbs and chilis and other such things I don't recognize from my conservative suburban upbringing. :) Mostly I just enjoy coming here to make jokes about not being unemployed in Greenland. But that just goes to show I've seen The Princess Bride far too many times.

The staffs are friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. I really appreciate the variety of local products they offer, and the prices are fair for the quality you get. This is a 1.5 star review generously being rounded up to 2…read more I haven't been to this Food Bazaar in years for two reasons. First mainly because there are so many other places I can go that are close to where I live or near where I work with better prices and fresh products and second because on my last visit, my mom purchased turkey wings and they were freezer burned and they gave her a huge problem returning them at that time. Fast forward to my recent visit, a friend of mine was going and I decided to accompany her and also check out the cereal prices while there. It looks like they have some better items on display and more variety than before so that's good. That is the reason for earning 1.5 stars. The reason for losing four is because when going to check out we went to self checkout and the machine says you can enter your phone number. My friend never signed up so the person there said she can sign up and then use the app. I thought my mom had already signed up and I entered the telephone number. For some reason it wasn't working. So one lady came over and she spoke very little English but then called for the other lady in Spanish. The other lady came over and she knew some English but had trouble explaining. Now my Spanish isn't the best but I understand well. It's speaking that I struggle with. Because I was confused with why the number wasn't working and trying to figure out how to relay that to her, she tells the other cashier three registers over and in front of several customers that I have an attitude which was totally inaccurate and inappropriate. I then realized despite how badI may feel my Spanish is, it was time for code switching and pulled my Spanish out and asked her if she's saying that I need to have the app AND I need to also have the telephone number in order to get the savings?? THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN SHE REALIZED I UNDERSTOOD HER!!! She then proceeded to explain (in Spanish) that yes both the app and the telephone number is needed for the savings, etc. I didn't call her out on it and No apology was ever offered either. But hopefully she now knows not to judge or talk about customers especially right in front of them assuming they won't be able to comprehend. I'm not going to take away from the very few other positives the store has but I definitely won't be returning and unless having the app and fully ready to let your bilingual talents show if and when in need of assistance, I'd be wary of shopping here.

I asked if my 8yr old can please use the restroom before we began shopping. the manager walked by me, mumbled "only for employees" and kept walking as I was talking to her. a nosy cashier interjected and said "she's the manager so oh well". I asked when did we reject bathroom use for customers or even children.....to the manager.... yet she still walked away as I was asking questions. the nosy cashier stated "this rule has been for years"....... MIND YOU THEY ALLOWED my child to use the bathroom LAST WEEK! they had the bathroom entrance blocked off by carts and everything. I'm not sure if the manager was having a bad day but it was unprofessional of her body language and lack of eye contact to even address me. It's like you were promoted to a position with no actual training and it shows.
